I'm picking up an FX 8350, and I figured I'd grab a Cooler Master Hyper 212 to go along with it.

I can probably move these cables around and just zip-tie them to the chassis... I mean, I know this case is pretty tiny, but maybe I can squeeze it all in there, right? 😵

Already placed the order, so fingers crossed everything goes smoothly. 😬

As far as I'm concerned, I won't be having any issues.

What kind of case are you running?

Worst-case scenario, if the cooler is too tall—just don't mount that panel. Honestly, some people leave it off anyway just to get better airflow and lower temps.

First, let me know what case model you're running with, then we can dive into the rest.

And what's even the point of an aftermarket cooler? You could just crack the case open and aim a desk fan at it.😬

Too late, he already ordered it. xD

The real question is when and where—has he already unboxed the cooler? It’s super easy to miss that 7-day return or exchange window, so if he’s still within that timeframe, we could probably just suggest something else in the same performance class that isn't quite so tall. 😉

It hasn't shown up yet. Honestly, I have zero clue what kind of case it even is. Like someone else mentioned on here, I already have the webpage pulled up anyway. I wasn't really sweating the height or anything... I just didn't realize how "chubby" the cooler was going to look, if you know what I mean. 🙂

Based on what I’ve seen in a few reviews, the Raijintek Aidos performance is roughly in the same ballpark, but you're looking at a 92mm fan versus Hyper's 120mm setup.

Since I'm already here—and I'd rather not clutter things up with a new thread—I have to ask: would my rookie brain be making a mistake if I tried adding another fan to my Hyper 212 EVO? Is that actually smart? Does it even make sense from a cost-to-benefit standpoint?

What on earth is Aidos supposed to be compared to Hyper? Cooler reviews are honestly the worst part of this hobby. You’ll find three to five different reviews for the exact same unit, only to be completely blindsided by how much the results vary.

Hyper really ought to sit somewhere in the middle ground between Thermis and Ereboss from Raijintek.

By the way, regarding idle temperatures—all coolers in this specific class are more or less identical at that stage.

As for that second cooler you mentioned—go ahead and post it.
