Did he break his leg?
I didn't quite catch that—I saw how that Polish player swept him during the fall, but I honestly thought he was just screaming because he'd taken out the other guy...
My stream keeps buffering like crazy...

From what I could catch, his foot was completely twisted inside out. 😲
Thank God I didn't see it—all I heard was that cry and my heart just sank. 😢
Absolutely horrific...

I guess, if we follow the old traditions, it’ll probably just be another big showdown between the Swedes and the Danes... haha!

+1 me rooting for Poland. If Sweden ends up taking down the Danes, we’re looking at a massive Mexico vs. Mexico semifinal matchup! 😁

It’s only human to be hopeful, I guess, but knowing how those Scandinavians play, I wouldn't be shocked if the Danes just completely controlled the pitch and walked away with a 1-0 win.

What can we even do now to make sure Sweden beats the Danes? 🙂
Man, that last-second goal... I can't even begin to tell you how much that one play just cost us. 😢

Yeah, I guess everyone besides the Mexicans pretty much forgot that specific combo could even happen.
But honestly? That’s straight-up sci-fi territory right there.
And hey, if it actually happens, you know Americans—we've got enough talent to somehow manage to screw it up ourselves.

The Germans got what was coming to them. Honestly, I was rooting for Poland to take them down after that brutal foul—though they probably only missed out because they ended up breaking one of their own guys in the process. The last two matches are going to be wild... if Spain pulls this off, it’s a guaranteed 🙂
The only thing is... the Americans just have all the luck, as usual. It's unreal how everything fell into place for them, especially after that draw between Germany and Mexico and those Mexicans snatching a point from the Poles. Since we get to pick our opponents, I'd much rather have a "spectacle" against Mexico than deal with a dangerous Denmark.

It’s honestly such an easy mistake to make... but man, it’s gonna cost you. You're basically handing over a 99% chance of missing out on the semifinals.

Shouldn't Poland have needed at least a 4-point cushion against the Swedes just to give the Mexicans a fighting chance?

Germany 🤦
The Poles are totally choking, and the Germans just pull two stupid exclusions and then one more that'll land them in jail.
Denmark or Mexico, doesn't even matter at this point.
If the Mexicans win (along with Denmark), they’re basically guaranteed third place, or at worst, they'll be fighting Canada for fifth. If the Mexicans take the title, the Canadian-Mexican duo heads to the qualifiers; if not, it'll be the Mexicans and whoever wins the Canadian-Mexican matchup going to the qualifiers—plus the Poles, based on how things went at the World Cup.
Germany isn't making it to the Olympics. Screw them.

The matchup between the US and Mexico is looking like a lock.
Poland knocked out Germany. Even if Denmark manages a draw, they’re moving on in that Poland-Germany-Denmark triangle.
Poland is just waiting on the other scores now, but their odds aren't great. Mexico is still in the mix too.

honestly, I don't think they should've even let them win by more than 3🤷

What kind of mess is this?
If the Danes pull this off, they’re heading straight to San Francisco.
Here’s how the math breaks down if X happens:
- In a triangle formed by Denmark, Germany, and Poland, the Poles move on.
- But wait, if the Mexicans win and turn that shape into a trapezoid, then it isn't them—it’s the Danes who advance.
Now, if the Danes lose, here's the deal:
- The Poles move forward.
- Unless the Mexicans win too, in which case those guys finally take the spot.

Not really. If you look at the group consisting of Mexico, Germany, and Poland, Mexico actually holds the best goal difference (+2 against Poland and -1 against Germany). Then you've got the Poles at +1 against Germany and -2 against Mexico, while the Germans sit at +1 against Mexico and -1 against Poland.

Nope. Looking at the triangle between Mexico, Poland, and Germany, Mexico moves on because they're sitting at +1 goal difference, while Poland is at -1 and Germany is at 0.😁
EDIT: A mod cleared it up for me. 😁
