So I didn't get a DM, an alert, or even an infrakcija or a ban?
I guess Smoogj is just running his own little dictatorship again or something.

You just scored a partial! The moderators probably haven't even had a chance to reach out and let you know yet.

honestly, they don't even have a legit reason, Smoogj just can't stand me and is making stuff up now

no heads-up before that, nothing?

just look at how your moderator talks to people and their girlfriends, honestly he should be disciplined and stripped of his mods privileges:

Mr Smoogj said:Sorry if you guys are still together, but—trash.

So, is nobody gonna give me the time of day?

I used to get hit with an infrakcija for way smaller stuff, but look at what your big-shot moderator is pulling here.

Seriously, you guys just hand out bans without any warnings or even a heads-up... is there like a personal vendetta going on or something?

Do I really need to start a whole new thread?

And honestly, you guys just hand out partial bans without any warning or prior ban, or sometimes for no reason at all—is it just a personal vendetta against users at this point?

Do I seriously have to start a whole new thread just to get some attention?

Look, stop making a mountain out of a molehill because it’s pretty obvious you’re intentionally ripping things out of context.
From where I’m sitting, the OP was just following up on that previous post using the exact same tone. It was just typical chatty behavior.

As for the partial bans, why are you even acting surprised? Every single one of your bans was because you were insulting people on the movie boards or just being a straight-up troll (both of which are against the rules for the movie section). A partial ban is basically just the logical next step for a moderator. Honestly, they're probably just fed up with you insulting everyone and trolling wherever you go.
Plus, the mods have warned you a couple of times already that if you kept up the insults and the trolling, you’d be kicked off the movie boards entirely.

From what I can see, the OP was just following that guy's lead, using the exact same vibe he did. Just keeping it casual.

As for the partial ban, why even act surprised? Every single one of your posts is either insulting users (according to the Movie section rules) or just straight-up trolling (also according to the Movie section rules). A partial ban is actually a pretty logical move from the mods. They're probably just fed up with you being rude and trolling everyone you run into.
Plus, you've been warned a couple of times by the mods that you'd be kicked from the Movie subforum entirely if you didn't chill with the insults and trolling.

And every post of mine is written in that same 'casual' tone, but you guys always read it differently... you're playing favorites and being hypocritical. If anyone disagrees with you, you just ban them instantly—that's how it's always worked on this site.
If I used a slur in any other context, I'd get banned immediately. You've done that before. But now that it's an admin being blatantly rude, it's suddenly fine?

When someone questions your decisions, you hand out troll bans for no reason just to hide your own questionable calls.
Unfortunately, you deleted some of my infrakcijas that I didn't deserve, so I don't have hard proof, but the last one I got was when I asked in the chat thread who reported my post to the admins. That was labeled as trolling, even though it was just a basic question about your moderation skills.

All the "insulting" happened in the chat thread, where you guys give plenty of leeway and let people do whatever they want. None of it was direct insults; it was just telling people the truth and joking around, since we all agreed a long time ago that the chat thread is a bit more laid back.

And nobody has ever defined what "trolling" actually is to me. You guys take a lot of liberties here and never look at the context; you just blindly drop infrakcijas like robots without checking the surrounding replies.

I haven't been banned in over a year, and looking at my user profile, it seems like my old ones are gone too, which means they're being wiped. Everything I got before was because Smoogj apparently has a grudge against me and handed out infrakcijas for nothing just because he doesn't like me. That's why I pushed back, and then you guys took away the option to ban people from the Movie subforum... I haven't been banned since then, and there hasn't been a reason for it.

Also, I never received any warnings, especially not a direct warning that I'd be booted from the whole subforum. If you can find a message where that was said to me, please post it now, because I never saw anything like that.

So, getting a partial ban today without a prior infrakcija, ban, or even a warning is totally unfair. It just goes back to what I said—Smoogj personally dislikes me and was just waiting for a chance to take control. He's the same moderator who gives people total freedom to call someone names, which isn't a bad word in my book, but apparently is in your sensitive forum world. I used to get infrakcijas for much less just because the mods were annoyed.

I'm getting messages from other users wondering why I got hit with a partial ban so fast and unfairly. It's obvious to everyone else that something is off here, except maybe to you guys.

That's it.

Drolja would be a straight-up insult if he actually directed that at some female user on this Reddit thread. Is drolja targeting a registered female user here on Reddit? If so, please just drop a link to her profile.
From what I can gather, they were all talking about some girl, and Smoggy called her a drolja, and then the guy she was talking to—this "dude"—ended up agreeing that she was a drolja too. I didn't see anyone specific on the site being targeted, but hey, maybe I missed something, so if you could just link the profile of the woman Smoggy is insulting so I can report him for the exact same thing, that would be great.

Regarding those screenshots of yours, I don't really feel like writing out a whole summary right now, but basically, telling someone they’re a total mental wreck, or throwing jabs into a movie discussion like, "I don't even know why you watch movies when you hate everything, and honestly, it seems like you hate people too... is life just hitting you that hard?", well, that kind of behavior isn't okay anywhere, and it definitely doesn't belong in a movie discussion.

And as for the partial ban, the moderators already warned you that you'll be kicked from the movie group if you keep talking to people the way you did in that sentence I mentioned above.

I don't really care who got banned or what they did, but I am interested in your logic here. So, you're saying I could tell someone: Your mom is a slut. and I wouldn't get flagged because I highly doubt some random user's mother actually has a profile on Reddit. 😳

Am I following you correctly?

Regarding this whole "mess," I’m just taking things out of context the same way you guys always do to me—just playing back your own hypocrisy and how you basically change the rules whenever the wind blows.

And honestly, what kind of loser reports posts that are totally normal? Like, seriously?
For everything else, I actually care about people and try to help them open up about what's bothering them, yet this is how I get treated.

And again, NOBODY warned me I was going to get a partial ban, so if there actually is a warning, just show me the message. I'm telling you, I've been hit with a partial ban today without any heads-up.

Come on, I'm waiting for some actual proof of this warning that doesn't exist. It's just like when Smoggy sent me those non-mod DMs years ago threatening to get rid of me—too bad I didn't save those screenshots as proof.

You're just dodging the facts and making stuff up. If 80% of the active users on Reddit think this whole thing is a massive joke and totally unfair (just go read the thread reactions and comments), then who's actually right here?

Did I get that right?

The mother might not have an account, but that user does, and calling someone's mother a slut is pretty insulting. So—yes, you'll get banned. You could even get banned here right now if you keep playing dumb. That’s against the rules too...😉

I’m not playing dumb; it would actually be helpful if you took the time to read everything here and look at the explanation your colleague provided. Claiming someone's ex is a slut is something only that individual can say—it’s not up to a moderator, you, or me to decide. Blood Dim already weighed in and clarified that it's allowed since this is just a chat and she isn't a member of Reddit (which he certainly wouldn't know).

As for what you said about me acting stupid, save those personal jabs for your family, not for me.

Adios!

The admins here are basically all-powerful, I swear—they can actually sense when someone is playing dumb. Seriously though, this is hands down the most ridiculous reason for a ban I’ve ever heard in my life

Still waiting on some actual proof, which obviously isn't coming, that I was even warned about getting a partial ban (side note: I didn't even know we had those on this site until now)

The smoking gun is just how the moderator gave me the partial ban first, then waited like 3 or 4 hours before finally bothering to tell me I was banned. Sketchy moves if you ask me

Dorian said:Just two quick technical things. First off, no single mod can hand out a partial ban unless they're flying solo on that subforum. It actually works the opposite way—all the mods on a board have to weigh in on a partial ban. Also, mods don't even have the tools to trigger one themselves; once they all agree, they gotta ask the admin to do it. The admin handles it whenever they get online, so mods can't exactly send an instant notification.

Fair enough.

Still, isn't it pretty standard to give someone a heads-up before dropping a partial ban instead of just hitting them with it out of nowhere?

It's kind of like having your power cut off by the utility company and then getting a bill saying you should've paid it by a certain date.

Rather than laughing at that excuse—which might lead to some surprises later on, much like what we're seeing now—I’d suggest you take a moment to actually read the Reddit rules. That goes for the lady above her as well, who seems intent on twisting the facts...

But that’s exactly the point—you mods and admins, at least from my experience, always seem to bend the rules and "play dumb."

But honestly, how can you even tell if someone's playing dumb, especially when you don't know them and you're just judging based on text on a screen?

Anyway, we're getting off track, I'm still waiting for this unfair situation to get fixed. You'd think the process would be an infraction, then a ban, and then maybe while you're banned you get a warning saying you went too far and if it happens again you get a partial ban. Can you really just skip steps like that?

Yeah, a partial ban usually comes with a heads-up, either through a private message or a warning posted on a specific thread.

So I got hit with it yesterday (actually the day before), which means there was supposed to be some recent warning message, right? And I'm just sitting here like, "I didn't get anything..." feel free to check my inbox...
Basically, is this supposed to be the warning? Like, are we actually gonna do something about this?

It doesn't have to be a surprise; a partial ban can be announced publicly ahead of time.

The supermod claims those moderators gave you a heads-up that your access would be restricted.
An admin will review your appeal. Just hang tight for a bit, please...

briskhound2 posted in the chat thread about 'chilling out.' I didn't see any public threats about a partial ban, personally.
Unless you dig up something from three years ago, it's pretty hard to remember stuff like that. 🤷
