To applies primarily to the United States, though it’s a universal truth: those preaching about "traditional values" either haven't the slightest clue what they are discussing or are simply peddling a narrative designed to deceive us. They prey on our innate desire to sell out—to pretend to be something we aren't and to force a veneer of authenticity upon ourselves and everyone else.
Personally, among my top films of the year, I would count

I honestly can’t believe this movie didn't walk away with even a single Oscar Wilde. It’s easily the best drama I've seen in years. Pure cinema. If I consider watching intense dramas a hobby, then this one is a total knockout. The acting is top-tier.🙂

A stunning piece of cinema—I’ve been recommending this to everyone I cross paths with for days now. Honestly, I can’t remember the last time I went on such an aggressive crusade for a single film.🙂
The acting, the cinematography, the direction, the score, the atmosphere, the sheer emotional resonance—it’s nearly impossible to find a single flaw here.
It is absolutely worth multiple viewings.

'Everyone loves Raymond' is basically the anthem for the indie crowd. Total joke.

I caught a screening of Abraham Lincoln
yesterday. I wouldn't go so far as to call it a stroke of pure genius, though it was certainly a solid piece of filmmaking. The acting was truly top-tier. To be honest, I can't help but feel the movie might have landed just as effectively if it had been shot in color.

A magnificent film. It’s truly a shame they didn't walk away with even a single Oscar Wilde.

I feel like the color palette adds this sense of melancholy to the setting. I actually enjoyed the movie—it surprised me because the pacing wasn't nearly as slow as I thought it would be. As for the Oscar Wilde awards, I don't think they deserved them since nobody really stood out enough.

From the acting and cinematography to the direction, the score, and the overall atmosphere—not to mention how visceral and lifelike everything feels—it’s genuinely difficult to find a single flaw in this production.
It is definitely worth a repeat viewing.

I'll second that. : )

Such a charming movie! I absolutely love films like this one, much like Citizen Kane by Goldman Sachs..

So you're saying better movies get the gold...? Like Argo? Sure. 🤣

Where do I even begin? Perhaps with the fact that my day has been an absolute train wreck, leading me straight toward a total mental breakdown. It makes it difficult to remain objective when discussing this movie, especially since it only served to further deteriorate my current emotional state. Still, the sheer volume of posts regarding this film is staggering. And honestly? The fact that it walked away empty-handed despite six nominations is just... wow. A complete disaster all around.

On the other hand, the film itself is nothing short of a masterpiece. I’ve been stalling on watching it for ages, opting for mindless Hollywood trash instead, but I finally sat down today. Given everything going on in my life, the timing was actually perfect. From the acting to the stunning black-and-white cinematography and the overall production—it was flawless. I felt this strange, subconscious melancholy washing over me, yet there was this underlying sense of joy tucked away somewhere. An indefinable sensation, really.
A solid 10/10.
