I actually agree with what rustydrifter10 put down. I’ll quote it here just in case you missed it 🙂

I don't see why there would be any issue with the odds, except for when we're talking about setting those spreads, which I've already mentioned...
What really gets under my skin is people dissecting everyone else's posts, though I guess some folks just live for that kind of thing.

If you don't see any issue with quoting the previous post, then what exactly are we even doing here?

I mean, honestly, you won't find a single rulebook out there that actually says that, let alone backs it up. Where on earth would you even find such a thing written down? 🤷

I only wrote that post to make it clear that this isn't just some mindless echo chamber where everyone just jumps in to say "I agree." That’s exactly how the whole thread spiraled out of control.

I was just giving some examples.
If we're gonna argue about cardboard, I'm not gonna drop a picture of some flower as "proof." Instead, I'll just post someone else's cardboard. Not that I'm actually complaining or asking for them to be banned or anything—I'm not looking for an explanation either. Just putting it out there. Example..

My post is actually a follow-up to your quote regarding the accusations of overmoderation made by rustydrifter10
after I brought up the question about how many requests a forum member submits,
but since we’re already on the topic of flower pictures, just so we're clear, the IMG code won't be permitted in any quotes,
instead, posts will be edited to strip out that specific IMG code, and the user will be sent a PM
just in case they somehow, by pure accident, missed the reason why their post was edited.

To was a straightforward question, so you got a straightforward answer,
and honestly, you can choose to take it as a matter of principle or just accept the explanation provided.
The user in question had already racked up a mountain of warnings before any formal action was taken,
since we don't typically jump straight to using moderator tools for those kinds of antics,
but once it became clear he wasn't listening despite countless reminders, rustydrifter10 had to step in and remove the posts.
Furthermore, I have absolute confidence in brighttinker48 as a fellow sub-moderator,
as he has even expressed doubt about his own actions more than once and reached out to the rest of us for advice,
and as far as those disputed warnings go—if you ask me, he was absolutely right to issue them.
As for the image citations, they are directly related to the specific post you mentioned,
it’s nothing personal, really, but I’ve explained it clearly enough so that nobody can claim, "Oh, we didn't know."

I was just looking for an answer from rustydrifter10 because your stance is pretty obvious—since you're basically the one handing out the penalties, it wouldn't make sense if you didn't agree with them 🤔.

I’ve never done it, but I’ve never once accused brighttinker48 of anything either, mostly because he’s a moderator. Besides being good at his job, he’s actually a decent, polite guy who’s willing to help out and doesn't look down on the "average users" like some other mods do. Don't put words in my mouth; that's just low.

The way you forbid people from quoting someone above them when it isn't even in the rules is just as ridiculous as rustydrifter10 slapping you with a penalty right now because you write your posts like they're bad poetry. Let's not act like anyone here is perfect,
and posts like these
are probably annoying
to a lot of people.

And nobody is coming after you for it.

Let me go over this one more time: the user was handed a penalty after they just kept ignoring the moderators' requests
with the reasoning being that they were quoting previous posts completely bespotrebno,
which obviously just makes the whole forum a nightmare to read.

brighttinker48, you didn't exactly make an accusation, but you certainly dropped those links that paint him as the bad guy in the clearest way possible.
It’s just his luck, I suppose, that he happened to jump on that stubborn post right at that moment
and ended up being faster and more on top of things than the rest of the moderation team.

rustydrifter10 doesn't just have the right to do it; she actually has a duty to hand out penalties when we mess around
and do things that hurt the community or go against our forum policies,
though if we're talking about hierarchy, that kind of thing should really be left to the site's head supermoderators,
or even someone like Pringles.

As for what you're calling a ban on quoting the previous post,
it feels totally bespotrebno to even include that in the rulebook,
since it's pretty much common sense on almost any other forum out there.

Moving forward, things will proceed exactly as agreed upon,
and honestly, I don't have anything else to contribute regarding this specific topic.

You’re acting like you’ve gone deaf to all the warnings about this fake rule.
Honestly, you're making the forum just as unreadable as everyone else who uses Tapatalk signatures, or those people who italicize and bold every single word, or the ones posting in a rainbow of colors—making it impossible to spot a moderator warning.
See the pattern? Unless something is actually an official rule, there shouldn't be any bans.

And like I said, I was only looking for nicin's response. The fact that you decided to drag this whole argument out...

As for those rules Henry Edwards33 was quoting from the Department of Commerce... there's absolutely no way something like that is actually in the rulebook. If you try to reply to a specific post, but five other people jump in before you can hit send, it becomes an absolute mess trying to figure out who you were even talking to. Quoting is honestly a necessity if we want to maintain any semblance of order. 😳

I mean, what's the point of editing a post when you can just quote properly? That way, everything remains perfectly clear, and you can see exactly who said what to whom without any guesswork.
