I'm not reading when I can't. If I can... 😒

I suspect you're just buried under a mountain of personal life drama and moderator duties, which is likely why it slipped your mind that we were actually addressing you specifically regarding the departures and the reasons behind them. Those posts are still right there in the thread. I even went ahead and reiterated those exact reasons again today.

ambercyclist50 said:If you had asked Vilenjacica about this a few months ago, she would have said we were just insulting her. Yet lately, she’s clearly stated how helpful it was. Which version of Vilenjacica are we supposed to believe? Perhaps the moderators should be more well-versed in the complexities of BPD. It feels like an attack on someone's character, doesn't it?

They probably should be.
And there's certainly a conversation to be had about whose ego is actually being bruised here...

Honestly, my apologiesβ€”you’re absolutely right, I clearly didn't read that closely enough.πŸ™ˆ

Can we just list out why some people are feeling regretful without calling them out by name or identity?🀷

As for whose ego is actually being bruised hereβ€”well, that’s a conversation worth having.

An attack on my ego from a position of authority? Please. If you want to challenge me, try doing it with actual arguments. Everything I write is backed by logic.

I don't really buy the idea that this whole lockout is about some personal grudge. They were pretty upfront about what's bothering them, and honestly, I suspect they're probably having a total meltdown over all that talk about BPD violence and BPD promiscuity. It’s just easier for them to lean on these tired old tropes:
- men are mostly just domestic abusers
- men are way more likely to cheat

I guess that’s just the kind of stuff they feed you in those psychology programs, and apparently, they aren't exactly sweating the details or looking to change the narrative.
So, we should learn how to adapt and actually communicate within the established forum rules.[/QUOTE
How on earth did I not think of that myself?! I should have just handed out the Code of Conduct to all the moderators and non-staff members and hosted two intensive workshops to settle all their grievances once and for all. Honestly, you live and learn, I suppose.
ambercyclist50 said:What exactly did your therapist teach you? Responsibility? Selflessness? Being self-centered?

A whole lot of wonderful things. I remember once coming in and telling him... oh, wait... this isn't actually about me and my therapy sessions. 😡 My mistake, I lost my train of thought for a second.

Professional BPD therapy is incredibly expensive if you follow the clinical guidelines (minimum twice a week for 6-7 years). It’s basically the price of a new car. Who can actually afford that in the US? If these types of "therapies" actually helped anyone (and many have said they did), then it cost a fortune. Isn't that enough reason for the thread to exist in its current form?

They'll still find them useful, regardless of how they're delivered.

While you all sit here theorizing, so many people are suffering because of you. Wouldn't it be immature of me not to say that you're being selfish?

If things are truly that unbearable, there are emergency psychiatric services available; they should reach out to them. That’s what my therapist taught me, since you brought him up.

We would all make progress much faster if we weren't bickering here, leaving us more time for actual solutions. As long as this back-and-forth continues, none of us can focus on what needs to be done. So, I'm going to go work on that with my colleagues.

Bye! πŸ‘‹

Lay's actually gave a really thorough and detailed response to all your questions, laying out exactly why the thread had to be closed while also walking us through the current plans for getting things back on track and opening up a brand-new topic soon. The mod team is going to huddle up to hammer out the specifics of how we'll move forward, so you can expect to see those changes reflected in the Psychology PDF.
