I guess I'm just surprised those water cannons stay dry for such a long time...

Eric Phillips52 said:It’s just a mountain of absolute nonsense and sheer stupidity if you ask me. It’s quite transparent how the local police are rushing to organize this emergency meeting involving the fire department, all for the sole purpose of turning the general public against the Rangers Supporters Club, who naturally have the fans firmly on their side. It’s so obvious. And honestly, the "solution" to this whole mess is incredibly simple. When the flares start flying and people begin tossing smoke canisters, the firefighter should just step about ten yards back for those two or three minutes instead of lunging toward the flares and canisters to put them out; let the display finish its course and the problem is solved. Everyone stays happy and satisfied then.

The guy didn't dive at the canister; it just went off right next to him. 🤷

The flares really ought to stay up in the North Stand... though I suppose explaining that logic to anyone else is a lost cause.

If we have to limit the cannons, let's cap them at two or three—and any sensible person should know exactly where to aim them so they don't hit anyone. God forbid there’s an accident involving kids out there blowing bubbles... heaven forbid.

Since we're talking about explosions, one went off right in the stands, but thank God nobody actually got hurt...

I honestly think we should just limit the number of officers on duty—maybe two or three at most—provided they're smart enough to station themselves where there isn't anyone standing right in their way. You have to be careful; heaven forbid an accident happens near the area where the kids are out blowing bubbles or playing with balloons. We certainly wouldn't want any unnecessary chaos in those family zones.

You make a very valid point.😉

You’re really hyper-focusing on that one point out of a fifty-word post. Besides, is it actually that difficult to grasp that I wasn't suggesting people are intentionally lunging at flares? When smoke canisters fly off from the stands, firefighters literally sprint toward them, ready to catch them by hand or douse them instantly. If they didn't act and just stood there safely for a few minutes, we wouldn't have an issue.☕

I wasn't saying someone is intentionally diving toward a flare. When those flares go off and smoke fills the stands, firefighters literally sprint toward them—they wouldn't even hesitate to grab them with their hands or tongs just to kill the flame immediately. If they didn't act and instead just stood there safely for a few minutes, we'd all be fine, I suppose ☕

Their entire job is to put that stuff out ASAP... if they were supposed to wait until everything burned itself out, there wouldn't even be a need to have them at the stadium in the first place.☕

Does anyone happen to know where I might be able to purchase these firecrackers?

Man, I wish it was just a regular old San Francisco vibe, not that extreme, radicalized version ☕

Limit the pyrotechnics to maybe two or three max, and even then, any sane person knows where to set them off so nobody gets hit. God forbid some kid out there is just trying to catch some balloons or something... heaven forbid.

Has anyone ever actually benefited from those flares?
What the hell are they even doing at the stadium in the first place?

Honestly, I can't even fathom why they bother showing up to the stadium at all.

They're falling apart... 🙂

Let’s be realistic here.
A cannon can ruin anyone's life, but the worst-case scenario is when some kid collecting soccer balls gets hit, or in this case, a firefighter...
A flare is dangerous too if it hits you, but at least you see it coming; you have time to move, unlike with a cannon shot.
