John Brown30 said:So, I guess the real issue here is that Marketing should even exist at all. Is it because we’re a supporter group, and we feel like we have to stay pure and untainted? Like, ultras are supposed to be the elite of society or some other theory people use to flatter themselves? Well, if that's the case, then I suppose I'm just being foolish! 🙂

Not quite. It’s more that things ought to be done for the fans themselves, rather than trying to appeal to the general public.🤷

Honestly, the Marketing was way better back when it was being driven by a guy right there in the stands—someone who was doing it exclusively for the core group. Sure, the fact that outsiders were buying up the gear was just a nice little bonus and proof that the stuff actually worked, but the heart of it was always about us. Now? It’s all gone downhill. Every single shirt they drop lately looks identical... honestly, none of them are even worth it. The last thing I’d actually give credit to from the old Marketing era was when they brought back those Los Angeles FC scarves. Some of those old shirts were legendary; nobody is ever going to top that quality. Not to mention, those designs would have absolutely blown up all over the country—people from the La Masia academy would've been all over them. But nowadays, nobody even knows when a new shirt, hat, or scarf is supposed to be dropping. It's just totally lost its spark.

Jerry Gray5 said:The way this Marketing is being handled is honestly embarrassing. Just using the word "Marketing" within supporter circles feels like a massive disgrace.
There are people out there who clearly care about the Black Knights a little less than they care about the profit margin on a t-shirt.
Maybe one day people will actually grasp what a supporter movement is supposed to be about, or maybe the obsession with cash will just end up drowning out the whole point of everything.

Keep the fans in your hearts, not just in your ads and videos!

It doesn't really matter what we call this department... whether it's Marketing or just a souvenir shop, whatever. Right now, it sucks. It’s all been designed for the masses, lacking any soul or those little details you used to find on the old gear. I mean, where are the shirts with the classic symbols, or the stuff for La Masia😍 or the Los Angeles FC travel kits? Something decent, something with a clear message...☕

Someone should probably give Ž a heads-up that it’s time to get those torches ready!😉

I drop about a thousand bucks a year on Black Knights gear, so I figure as a customer, I’ve got every right to say that lately, everything has been subpar. What does this mean for the rest of the fanbase? 🤷 If they just focused on making high-quality, well-designed stuff—like those hats or the tour merch—the products would basically sell themselves.

I am not sure if you mean those items currently listed in the souvenir shop on espn.com🤷

But if those are the products you are referring to, I don't understand the issue.

The merchandise is excellent. In my opinion, the quality has never been better.

William Turner28 said:I honestly can't tell if you guys are talking about those specific items they’ve got on display in the souvenir shop over at ESPN.com.🤷

Look, if you guys are actually getting worked up over those specific articles, I honestly don't know what's wrong with you. Seriously, what is even bothering you that much?

Honestly, you guys are putting out some absolutely killer gear lately. I’ve been following this scene for a minute now, and in my book, I don't think I've ever seen you guys hit it out of the park quite like this. Seriously, top-tier stuff.

Man, I don’t even know where to start with these choreographies... what kind of nonsense is this? Seriously, it’s like they’re trying too hard to be something they aren't. It reminds me of those old-school attempts at big productions you'd see on local public access stations back in the day—just total chaos. Everyone is running around like headless chickens, thinking they’re making some grand artistic statement, but honestly? It just looks messy. It's all flash and zero substance, just people flailing around in a crowd hoping nobody notices how uncoordinated they actually are.

Jonathan Lewis3 said:Honestly, the branding used to be so much better back when it was just some guy on the bleachers talking it up for the die-hard fans. Selling stuff to outsiders was just a nice little side effect, which really proves the original vibe worked. Now? Everything feels so repetitive... the shirts are all basically the same thing, and don't even get me started on the hats, they're nothing special. The last thing they did right was bringing back those classic team scarves. Man, those old-school designs were legendary—nobody can top them. If they actually dropped those again, they’d go viral all over the country (the local academy), but nowadays, nobody even knows when a new shirt or hat actually drops. It's just a total guessing game now.

total disaster 🤦 🤦

🤣

In marketing, they actually call a product a failure if you can sell a thousand units a day. ☕

basically, in the marketing world, they think you've totally flopped if you can only move maybe a thousand units a day☕

I’m not even talking about marketing specifically, just speaking generally here, man☕
I mean, let's be real, most people don't even know what they're actually buying... if all you care about is that marketing hype, just slap a picture of some adult film star on a t-shirt and watch the sales skyrocket😉

I don't buy that demand stays the same regardless of what you post; there’s always got to be some connection to the topic 🙂

Look, I'm just a regular guy, so don't take my opinion too seriously 🙂

I honestly don't think the fans have enough sense to go up against organized crime and the local police force... We all know there's plenty of stuff stacked against us, but why on earth are we making their jobs so easy? For instance, shouting "death to the cops" or whatever—look, I get the sentiment, really I do—but handing out messages like that and letting people hold them without realizing what they're actually holding is just asking for trouble. We know bans are handed out even for a middle finger, so this is just pure stupidity. The end result? A ban on KFC, which is the very thing that was bothering the establishment and the police more than anything else...

PTBC said:You’re going to get absolutely wrecked by the crackdown for the next half-season or so. It was common knowledge that Steve used to smooth things over whenever there was trouble, but now you've got these tiny little pests crawling all over you. We all know exactly who they are and what their deal is... it’s a textbook case, just like what happened back in Columbus!

Look, man, until those old-school heavy hitters from the 90s—the kind of guys who practically had their teeth rotted out from too much powder—make a comeback in the Black Knights, don't expect any luck.
It reminds me of those days when Guy and I would sneak off with the boys to sniff some glue behind the high school; we didn't give a damn about anything else. We’d just get a quick rush and then everyone would head home. But this modern nonsense? It feels like these kids are playing Call of Duty in real life. We really need to toughen things up again.
