Do they actually go away, or does the inflammation just settle down?

If they do clear up, how many days does that usually take?
How long were you using it before you noticed things getting better?

Do they disappear completely, or just partially—like maybe halfway?

What about internal ones?
Any advice for dealing with internal issues?

I’d say apply as much Fact ointment as possible, right up there, using an applicator for the internal part. And after every bathroom trip, make sure to wash with water that's cool, maybe even cold, rather than warm.
That’s how I’ve been managing things for over 20 years now.

I mean, I've tried pretty much everything under the sun and honestly? It’s just made things worse. Creams, ointments, pills, you name it... nothing. I even went through this whole massive diet overhaul, but even that didn't do squat. My issues aren't exactly life-threatening yet, so I just deal with it, but man, it's annoying as hell. Been dealing with this stuff for about a year now. Probably just stress, I guess...

I actually thought I had them—well, at least my doctor suspected internal hemorrhoids were on the way—but they’ve finally cleared up. I was dealing with some pretty stubborn, hard stools for a few days there, which led to some bleeding. I wasn't quite sure what was going on, so I was sipping on some Portalak syrup and drinking angelica tea to help things move along. I eventually went in for a checkup—had to undergo a rectoscopy, which, honestly, just gives me the chills whenever I think about it now :'(—but the doctor told me everything looked perfectly clean and normal, no hemorrhoids in sight. Since that appointment, the pain and the bleeding have completely vanished.

Does anyone happen to know what the cost would be for external surgery at a public hospital (without supplemental insurance)?

Took Hemolex in June and it worked! I have one large internal hemorrhoid and a small external one!

I dealt with hemorrhoids. A few years back, I took some antibiotics that caused intestinal inflammation, which triggered internal hemorrhoids. The pain was unbearable. Over-the-counter creams eventually calmed them down, so I thought I was finally in the clear.
Well, here I am, stuck on those same stupid antibiotics two years later. The inflammation is back in full force. I didn't even think to connect the dots the first time I used them—it hit me too late. And of course, my doctor didn't suggest or prescribe anything to maintain my stomach acid balance. Naturally, this all unfolded while I was vacationing in the US and Canada. Just a heads-up: be careful if you find yourself needing them.

That’s when the real trouble started. It became a mix of internal and external issues, and as time went on, they all started protruding.
They flared up significantly during my pregnancy. My doctor warned me there was a high chance the pain would intensify, but thankfully, I made it through the pregnancy without major complications. We're talking massive swellings. During childbirth, they actually ruptured, leaving surgery as my only real option.
So, I finally had the surgery last May. What a nightmare it's been since then, both in terms of the pain and the hygiene requirements.
If they ever come back, I wouldn't hesitate for a single second to get surgery immediately. I used to be terrified of it, but now? Not a chance.

So, did that one big internal one and the small external one just shrink away after taking those?

Or was it actually more intense than that—like, did you still have one large internal and one external left over after the tablets?

Also, is Hemolex just the new name for Pilex?

silvercanyon7, which hospital did you go to for that surgery, and what kind of method did they use?

You could try finding some oak bark—just scrape it off without hitting the trunk—and boil about 2 to 3 tablespoons. Keep it covered, let it cool to around 35-40°C, then rinse lightly without drying it. Use this at least twice a day, and if you can, apply it as a compress to the area twice a day too.
Leave it on for about 15 minutes, and I guess you might feel some relief from the pain within 7 to 12 days.

I find myself in a remarkably similar predicament, grappling with stage 2 and 3 issues. For the longest time, they were silent, invisible players in my life—I hadn't even noticed them, let alone felt any discomfort. However, after a bout of particularly stubborn constipation recently (and I do rely on laxatives to keep things moving), a persistent, gnawing ache has taken up residence inside me since yesterday. Last night, I applied some HemeroProtekt cream, and while doing so, I actually felt something—a distinct, thickened lump deep inside on one side. It sent a genuine chill down my spine because, despite knowing I had these issues, I don't recall ever feeling anything so substantial before. It feels quite large under my touch, and I can't help but wonder if I'm misinterpreting the sensation—could it be something more sinister than just hemorrhoids? When you check, do you actually feel those lumps when you reach inside? Fortunately, there hasn't been any bleeding, and my last colonoscopy three years ago came back perfectly clear, which offers a small shred of comfort. Tell me, does the pain linger throughout the entire day, or is it strictly an issue that strikes only when you're sitting on the toilet?

How much does a rectoscopy actually hurt, and how long does the whole thing take?

Tell me, can you actually feel that large internal one when you're applying ointment internally? Because I was feeling around last night and again today, and I definitely felt something quite substantial, and let me tell you, it hurts like hell.

Morning—just eat two sheets of cabbage
Evening—grate up one small beet, eat it, then follow it with a glass of warm water mixed with a spoonful of honey.

Do this for 28 days.
The stool might look red from the beet, I guess.

This was what actually worked best for me.

Guys, I need some help... So, I'm a minor (16, turning 17 soon) and I have no clue how I can hit up a doctor in San Diego without my parents finding out. If my mom hears about this, the whole city is gonna know I have external hemorrhoids within two days. Honestly, I don't even get how you book appointments for checkups since my folks usually handle everything else for me. What "kind" of doctor is actually best for checking out external hemorrhoids? Like, should I see a specialist? And is it even worth going to the doctor at all? This whole thing popped up about 4 or 5 days ago totally out of nowhere—it just started itching like crazy. Now I feel this tiny little lump near my anus, though mostly it's just the skin around the lump that stings (it’s even waking me up at night now because of the irritation). I think the culprit might be that I basically scrape my skin raw with toilet paper when I wipe. I've started noticing little spots of blood on the paper, but I don't know how serious that is since it's just a tiny amount. It doesn't hurt much when I go to the bathroom, but it’s super annoying when I'm walking in jeans or trying to sleep. As embarrassing as it is to ask this, health comes first, right? I've never dealt with this before, so I'm wondering if it just comes back after you treat it with a cream or whatever. If you guys think I shouldn't bother with a doctor (even though I probably should just to be safe), what kind of creams or pills can I grab over the counter at a drugstore? Creams sound more effective for this, maybe? I haven't tried anything yet, like sitting in cold water or chamomile baths—that sounds pretty impractical and I don't want my parents thinking I've lost my mind. Does that stuff actually work? Help... 🙂

PS, I have my insurance card in my pocket, but I don't know if that makes a difference. Do I need it to buy these creams or pills at the pharmacy?

David Cook5, according to the doctor—you need a proctologist. Also: watch what you eat (eat more prunes, pears, apples, and LGG yogurt mixed with ground flaxseed), and stay away from dry foods and sweets. Drink plenty of fluids and move around as much as possible. You need regular bowel movements that aren't hard. That's the most important part if you don't want this to come back...

After you go, don't use dry paper; wash with a handheld showerhead instead, then pat dry gently with soft toilet paper or a soft towel. Apply some hemorrhoid cream from the pharmacy. For pain and irritation, Pavlovic ointment works wonders too (check CVS or a local drugstore)...

@crimsongull20/">@@crimsongull20, does that Pavlovic ointment actually have properties that make hemorrhoids "recede"—like, you know, shrinking them and healing up the skin—or is it just there to take the edge off the irritation and pain?

Also, about seeing a proctologist... can I just go in on my own without a parent tagging along if it's just for an exam? Like, can I just walk into a clinic and book an appointment right then, or is everything done over the phone? And honestly, are there even any proctologists actually working right now with all those protests going on... is that stuff still happening?

Hello. Has anyone here undergone surgery at Mercury? I am wondering if there is a long wait for procedures, or if one can use supplemental insurance...
