Where did you have your surgery, how much did it cost, and can you get more coverage through insurance?

I requested general anesthesia, and honestly, if I had to go under the knife again, I’d make the exact same choice. I was discharged on the third day—though that only happened after a massive bathroom emergency triggered by some prune juice and yogurt, which was a struggle, to say the least. But the real nightmare started once I got home. Having a bowel movement became an absolute ordeal for a long time; the 20th trip to the restroom felt even worse than the first. Between the tears and drinking enough laxative tea to fill a swimming pool, plus drinking massive amounts of water and loading up on flax, chia seeds, and smoothies you wouldn't believe, I fought tooth and nail for a daily movement. I couldn't afford to let things get hard or skip a single day; for me, that felt like taking five steps backward. All in all, it was a painful and grueling experience. I didn't expect recovery to be this brutal. In my case, the actual act of using the restroom was a huge hurdle, followed by those uncontrollable bursts of gas that happen right when you're trying to go (it actually happened in my underwear because there just wasn't time). I ended up taking three months off work in total. Down there feels fine now, though it still feels a bit tight during movements. I’m still drinking laxative tea because I’ve always struggled with regularity, which is what led me to the surgery in the first place. Drink plenty of water, watch your diet, and... well, you get through it. Good luck to everyone facing surgery. 🙂
