The recovery was actually pretty smooth, except for some issues with bowel movements. Pain wasn't really an issue—just some discomfort when using the restroom. But then, the day after surgery, I developed a fissure. I’ve never dealt with one before, and honestly, I'm losing my mind because this thing hurts way more than the hemorrhoids ever did.

Did your doctor actually confirm it's a fissure, or are you just assuming based on the pain...?

Someone suggested I focus on hygiene and keep applying some Panthenol ointment to the area, which should hopefully help it heal within about two weeks. Honestly, though? This fissure is driving me absolutely crazy. I'm just crossing my fingers that it clears up as fast as possible.

The real question is how that fissure actually happened. If it was caused by his own mistake—like scratching too much internally—then he might be right. A wound like that wouldn't be quite as deep or messed up as one caused by sphincter spasms. In that case, I believe it would heal on its own just like his doctor said. Good luck...😉

So, here’s my situation: I’m 27, and I’ve been dealing with external hemorrhoids for about a year—maybe closer to two at this point. They don't actually bleed, and they aren't painful, itchy, or stinging, but they're definitely there, and I just want them gone once and for all. 😁
Right now, I’ve been using some over-the-counter ointment after I use the bathroom. However, I recently started hitting the gym three or four times a week. I'm wondering if lifting weights might actually make things worse, or if there's any benefit to working out? It honestly feels like since I started training, the protrusion feels more pronounced after I go to the bathroom. 🤷
In the beginning, I was using a specific medicated cream that worked wonders, but it requires a prescription. I really don't want to have to trek back to the doctor just for a refill, and honestly, surgery is my absolute last resort.
Thanks.

Looks like the DG HAL method isn't for you... Do a little Googling to learn more about it. You can also dig through my old posts if you want a full breakdown.

So, I’m 19, and I swung by my doctor's office the other day because I’ve been dealing with these annoying bluish bumps around my anus. She takes one look and basically tells me there's nothing going on, then turns around and prescribes some Fact ointment. The kicker? She actually told me I need to insert it internally, which is hilarious because, hello, these things are clearly external. I'm not even seeing any bleeding; they just pop out occasionally and get super sore. Should I actually follow her advice here, or am I wasting my time? Is Fact strictly for internal hemorrhoids, or can you safely use it on the outside if they're external? Thanks.

Greetings. 🙂 I am twenty years old and have been struggling with internal hemorrhoids and irregular bowel movements for several months now. To be honest, I am at a loss as to how to proceed. My stool is rarely formed and tends to be quite hard, which causes constant internal pain and eventually leads to bleeding after a bowel movement. Even when the consistency is softer, I experience sharp pain in one specific area, and the bleeding persists. I have already adjusted my diet to include more fiber, and since I am currently following an anti-candida protocol, I am avoiding all sweets entirely. I have even tried using Fact ointment, though I haven't noticed any significant relief. I find it baffling that I am still experiencing these issues despite being on such a strict regimen—avoiding heavy foods, limiting spice, and constantly taking probiotics. My doctor doesn't seem particularly concerned, likely because of my age; he suggests it is merely stress-related, yet he hasn't even performed a physical exam. Given that this has been ongoing for some time and hasn't improved despite weeks of dietary changes, I am starting to feel genuinely anxious.
If anyone has any advice, please help!

Should I actually follow her advice or what? Is Fact specifically for internal issues, or can I use it on the outside if they're external? Thanks.

Just rub it wherever you need to... honestly, if you're even slightly worried about internal ones, my advice is to just go grab some wipes... yeah, yeah, I know how that sounds, but hemorrhoids absolutely wrecked me overnight 🙂 and those wipes were a total lifesaver. I used the Fact ointment too. I never bothered putting it inside because just applying it to the outside made the pain stop immediately.

It’s honestly ridiculous that they’re demanding a prescription for stuff like Motilium and decongestants over here.
If it's true that you can just pick up those meds without a script in Canada, like Michael Diaz4 was saying, then I might just swing by a pharmacy when I head out there next week to grab some supplies.

Hey. I’m dealing with this mess too. Does anyone know if hemorrhoids can actually cause a fever? I hit 99.7 yesterday and I've been in pain all day. I have external ones, but there's this deep, internal ache. Has anyone else dealt with this? I've been using that Faktu ointment, but it doesn't seem to be doing anything.

It definitely can. I’ve actually written about this before... any serious inflammation can trigger a fever. I dealt with a severe case myself—I was on antibiotics and even went to see a holistic healer out of sheer desperation🙂 , only to end up in the ER for an emergency surgery because I developed ulcers that had become infected deep inside. That whole ordeal is part of my history now, and I detailed it right here on this thread exactly two years ago. I'm not trying to scare you or claim you'll end up the same way, but if you suspect it's related to the hemorrhoids (and based on what you described, it very well could be), please go see a doctor tomorrow. Get it checked out. Don't panic, but don't play doctor based on forum advice either. Let us know how it goes. Keeping my fingers crossed for you...😉

Thanks for the reply. I went to see my primary care doctor this morning to get blood work and a urine test done to check for any signs of infection. Now I'm just confused because that pain feels so deep. I honestly don't even know what we're dealing with anymore. Uuuuuhhh... I actually wondered if something had abscessed. What happened to you was truly awful; I really hope you got it sorted out. 🙂

Back at the beginning of December, I went through with the DG HAL RAR procedure. Before that, I’d been dealing with bleeding, prolapse, and pain for over a decade—it was intermittent for years, but right before the surgery, it became constant and pretty heavy. For the first month following the procedure, everything seemed totally fine. But then, things started acting up again; the prolapse returned, though the pain was much more manageable, and I noticed some blood on the toilet paper on two separate occasions. After checking in with my surgeon, and after some time passed, I actually requested to have the procedure repeated. It’s been 15 days since the follow-up. This time, they performed the DG HAL RAR again, and they even made an incision on part of the prolapse (that soft thrombus area). I'm really crossing my fingers that we won't see a recurrence this time around. I'll check back in once I have more updates.

If you have a severe case of prolapse, it has to be handled correctly during surgery. Honestly, I don't understand why that wasn't addressed immediately the first time. That was a mistake, and frankly, that doctor wasn't reliable...

You really need to have a specialist take a look at this. At this rate, they’ll definitely find an elevated white blood cell count because there's clearly some kind of inflammation happening, but the question is what kind. It might not even be hemorrhoids; maybe you just caught a nasty cold or something... As for me, I dealt with mine permanently and haven't had a single issue since (knock on wood)... When I was doing my pre-op tests, my white cell count was up too, but looking back, it wasn't actually that scary. Still, a specialist needs to be the one to make the call...

Here I go again, guys...
so I was cleaning up after using the bathroom and I felt these weird lumps, like little bumps...
I went to check myself out in the mirror and honestly, this doesn't look right at all...

I'm gonna post a picture here—I really hope this doesn't break any forum rules. I'm not trying to gross anyone out, I swear, but I just need someone to look at this because I am losing my mind over all these issues...

first there was internal stuff, then a fissure, and now I don't even know what the hell this is...
http://prntscr.com/wg963

are these external hemorrhoids?

When I was undergoing tests before my surgery, my white cell count was also high, but looking back, it wasn't even that big of a deal. Still, a specialist needs to be the one to make the call.

So, it's exactly that—elevated white blood cell count, CRP... nothing catastrophic, but nothing to ignore either. I’m going to insist on seeing a specialist. My doctor thought it might be something related to my spine. I know it isn't. You just know when it's about a specific part of the body. 😁
