Once people stop obsessing over who’s sitting in the big chair and the Red Army stops tethering their entire existence to a single individual, then maybe Steve can return to his position—or not. It's entirely up to him at that point...

This is a process that simply HAS to happen. Could it have been handled differently? Sure. Could it have happened at a better time? Absolutely. But the wheels are already in motion now, and they HAVE to keep turning.

The team plays in a suburb, and there’s no Red Army presence because Lekić hasn't arrived yet, even though Obišen is right there with the main crew. Then, as soon as he shows up, the spontaneous "Stipe, Stipe" chanting starts. I don't think I've ever seen this much focus on a single individual within the Red Army. It's sad, and frankly, it's embarrassing. Credit where credit is due on certain things, but he can't just rely on being the guy standing by the goalpost forever.

By the way, I seem to remember people talking trash about Lekić on the fan forums back when he first took over leading the chants... people were questioning why there wasn't some blonde kid by the goalpost...

Even that has leveled up under his leadership... I haven't seen anyone defending the idea of invading someone else's city to start a brawl. You say we're starting from scratch, but really? With two thousand people in the stands, a thousand traveling, ten new drum patterns, flags, and banners... it's like it's 2001 all over again.

4. I don't really care who leads the chants, as long as they're from the active crew. I'll cast my vote... obviously, if they don't do a good job or if the crew doesn't accept them (even if you want to call them "casuals" or whatever), then fine... someone new will come along.

Honestly, half of them refuse to chant just out of spite, and then they hop on the forum to complain that the atmosphere is bad.

It was a total lapse in judgment. Look at the average age in the stands, the drumming, the organization, all of it.
Ever since certain groups backed off, everything has rested on one man's shoulders. That includes your video section and a million other small things I won't bother listing.
That 2006/07 season was an absolute blast from what I hear based on stories, because I was too young back then. Mexico, Italy—we never missed a beat. I think Russia was the major turning point. 🤷

Go ahead and voice your opinion, but before you start throwing around discreditng insults like "we aren't a group anymore, we're just a party crowd," you need to have at least ten years of seniority in the stands. You need to know this group from its earliest stages in the 80s to make a claim that carries any weight or objectivity. Otherwise, you end up looking exactly like you do right now. You say you "heard" that the 06/07 season was a "blast." You can't make a definitive assertion when your entire argument is based on "I heard." Someone just a few years older than you who actually lived through the 05, 06, and 07 seasons could tell you that in that 07 season—which you call a "blast"—we suffered our toughest defeat (against Bielefeld) since the group was formed, and that away trips were done in single vans out of Miami, and that we were never even heard at Yankee Stadium, etc., etc. And as for that photo of Yankee Stadium you posted, it's completely worn out. If I showed you a picture of the other side of the stands from that same game, you'd see exactly how much of a "party crowd" you all really are. 😉

The Red Army is currently at the very top of Europe alongside the rivals, but only if we are UNIFIED and UNITE together!! The Red Army is only as strong as all our subgroups and the main core combined!!! The strongest army in the world is the weakest if it is divided! ☕

Look, at that last meeting where the guy suggested pulling out, there were nearly 100 people in attendance. For days, everyone knew exactly when and where it was happening. Only one single person had the nerve to say, "don't go."

It’s pretty obvious you lot don't care enough about the group's situation or what's actually going down to stay informed. If that's the case, then don't come crying to this forum later either.

Look, I’m not even talking about how many years I’ve spent in the stands—I’ve got plenty of those. It’s more about my age, and since I’m still on the younger side, I think there should be some basic respect for elders instead of people trying to lecture me just because I might not know every single tiny detail.

The choreographies, the singing—that stuff is just flashy window dressing. I can’t sit here and pretend I lived through the 80s if I wasn't even born yet... Bielefeld is totally fine, and honestly, sometimes you just have to take a beating. We took some hits back in the day, nothing dirty or anything un-fanlike about it.
It actually breaks my heart when I see people I genuinely respect staying on the sidelines. Every neighborhood has its own spot in the stands. Once everyone finally decides to Unite into one cohesive unit, then we'll truly be what we're meant to be—and I won't be sitting here posting my grievances on forums anymore.
And as for that scene at Yankee Stadium where all those random outsiders were hanging around the edges—I don't mind. You can't really function without them, I guess. But back in 2007, it was unheard of to see kids hanging out right by the goalposts, whereas nowadays, it’s completely normal to see 13 or 14-year-olds standing right there.
Whatever, man, I'm just stating my opinion and my perspective, because I listen to all these different stories and they're starting to sound less and less consistent to me. Our history is basically passed down through word of mouth anyway, right?

This exact debate has been wiped clean three times already. I'm stuck wondering: is it better to just let it fly and attempt to explain things, or should we just keep deleting everything? This game was about so much more than just a score. It carried weight for the group and shaped the entire course of our history. Looking back, thank God everyone from that match is still around, and most of them are still holding it down in the North Stand. The point is, the soul of this group hasn't shifted. You don't build true character in a season or two; it takes a decade of staying the course.

Look, I was leading the chants at Roma when I was just a teenager, and by the time I hit Fiorentina, I was practically a child and still leading the pack. The late Jerry used to pick me up and tell me, "Kid, you're going to be running this show."

...everything happens in its own time, bringing both the beautiful moments and the brutal ones. People die, people are born; some grow past the chaos, while others are just finding their footing. Some react this way, some react that way, and honestly, it’s all just NATURAL. Nothing about it is strange... the real question is how an individual processes it—how someone cries liters upon liters of tears, or breaks a sweat, or burns through their nerves, or whatever else... Making SACRIFICES during times like this is the hardest part, regardless of how much I participate in knowing the work of the Red Army as a whole...
...and please, don't even bring up the 80s to me. I think I know well enough, and I can still feel the pulse of that era, as well as the pulse of other eras too... In my opinion, being a fan is incomparably harder now than it was back then. There is just so much more PRESSURE coming from every possible direction... Back in the day, you had a tight-knit circle of maybe a hundred people, mostly from Miami, (AND I'M NOT DISMISSING THE OTHER BRANCHES, FOR HEAVEN'S SAKE), but things felt "healthier" (though not in the full sense of the word🙂). Nowadays, time flies by, and most people only know each other through cell phones, forums, and secondhand info. Basically, mass appeal has brought a massive surge in problems; "everyone" has, quite simply, become part of the Red Army overnight, and in those huge numbers, quality got lost. Here's a nice little memory, what I consider the start of something new...
