😁
I honestly feel for Tebow 😢
While my gut tells me the Gators shouldn't have much trouble tonight, I suppose there is always that lingering possibility they might throw us a curveball 😁

There goes my sleep schedule for the week; we’re going from bowl game to bowl game straight through the wild card round.

Started things off with a massive 94-yard kick return, followed immediately by a successful two-point conversion.

1 PT safety

In conclusion:
Kansas State actually met condition (a) under the "Exception" clause by recovering a kick between their own five-yard line and the goal line. However—and this is where the logic falls apart—they failed to meet condition (b), because the ball never actually drifted into the end zone due to momentum: The Wildcats were responsible for the backward run and lateral that resulted in Chapman being tackled behind the line themselves.

ARTICLE 1. It is a safety when:
a. The ball becomes dead out of bounds behind a goal line, except from an incomplete forward pass, or becomes dead in the possession of a player on, above or behind his own goal line, or becomes dead by rule, and the defending team is responsible for the ball being there. (A.R. 6-3-1-IV; A.R. 7-2-4-I; A.R. 8-5-1-I-II, IV and VI-VIII; A.R. 8-7-2-II; and A.R. 9-4-1-VIII).
If you're ever staring at the refs in confusion, remember: when in doubt, it's a touchback, not a safety.
Exception:
It isn't a safety if a player—situated somewhere between his own five-yard line and the goal line—does the following:
(a) snags an interception or a fumble; or picks up an opponent's fumble or backward pass; or catches/recovers a kick; and
(b) their initial momentum drags them straight into their own end zone; and
(c) the ball stays behind that goal line and is ruled dead while in their team's possession. This even covers a fumble that bounces from the end zone back into the field of play before going out of bounds (Rule 7-2-4-b-1).

Alabama's hatred of Notre Dame runs deep and goes way back
http://sports.yahoo.com/news/ncaaf--...052115743.html
"In the South in general, but Alabama in particular, about everything north of the Mason-Dixon Line, there's a real sense of defensiveness," noted Wayne Flynt, the Encyclopedia of Alabama and professor emeritus of history at Auburn. "And that includes Notre Dame, which represents a massive symbol of success in America.
"When you're ranked in the bottom five nationwide... in nearly every single quality-of-life metric, and the national media constantly beats you over the head about how backward things are, you end up with a massive chip on your shoulder. We don't really lead in many areas outside of college football—but in that arena, we're absolute powerhouses.
"There's one team that vies for supremacy with Alabama in college football. That's Notre Dame. They're basically the ultimate definition of ‘The Other,' if you want to look at it through a sociological lens."

It’s a phenomenon you see in plenty of other sports and across various countries, but it brings a certain... let's call it a unique magic to this game. I am counting down the minutes until Monday arrives.

Anyone got a solid link for the Cotton Bowl? It’s not on ESPN America, and I was kind of hoping to catch some Johnny football...😁

Thanks, though I don't really care who ends up winning. I just caught him playing against Bama and he was impressive, so now I'm wondering if that was a fluke or if he's actually that good... 🙂

I don't think they should have called that penalty. I realize it was only a two-yard difference, but they would have picked up the first down regardless...

At 2:30 tonight, we have the big one: the College Football Playoff - Alabama(1) vs. Alabama(2). It is quite a spectacle, really; Bama is currently chasing their third title in just the last four seasons—bringing their grand total to 14—while Notre Dame is desperately hunting for their very first championship after a 24-year drought, which would bring them to 11 overall.
I am pulling for Bama 😍
