This is a massive game for the home side—they’re fighting for their lives in the American first division right now, especially after dropping two straight games... absolute disaster class.
Brann is technically the better side, but they’ve been the definition of "home field advantage" this season, while being incredibly generous on the road with a pathetic 2-2-8 record.
I honestly think Brann might throw some younger players into the mix here—just giving them some seasoning since the points aren't mission-critical for them at the moment.
At these odds? I reckon taking the home win is worth a shot...

So, I read this somewhere;

Man, I’m actually out here in Haugesund on a boat right now, thinking I might do some digging into these Norwegians, but honestly? It’s just not happening🙂. I’m putting my money on what that Norwegian guy over on the bettingadvice forum was saying.

They basically bullied them 3-1 using mostly bench players, so there's really no reason why those same subs couldn't grind out a 1-1 draw now. If the home side manages to jump out to an early 1-0 lead, they might get a bit too eager to find a second one, and that's usually when you see them get punished...

Personally, I don't bet based on what's a "sure thing," but rather on where the actual value lies. If I put down $2.00 on something where the real probability feels more like 1.6 or 1.7, then I figure I've made a smart move for the long haul...

Aaron Morales7 said:What are your thoughts on putting some bigger money on Juventus, Bayern Munich, and PSG?

Juventus has had a stellar start to the season, sitting pretty at the top of the table. They even took down the current "heavyweights" of the league, Napoli, which should give them a massive boost in confidence and motivation. In the Champions League, they managed to snag a point away in England, but then they stumbled at home against Shakhtar Donetsk. Personally, I think Shakhtar got lucky, but hey, that’s just football. Now they face FC Nordsjaelland, who, according to official FIFA/UEFA stats, is the weakest side in the Champions League. I’m expecting a routine win for Juventus here; any slip-up would make their path to the knockout stage incredibly messy.

Lille has been struggling quite a bit this season—they're underperforming in their domestic league and looking shaky in the Champions League too. Locally, they're stuck hovering around the middle of the table and aren't exactly providing much excitement. In Europe, they've already dropped two matches: a 1-3 loss at home to BATE Borisov and a 2-0 defeat away at Valencia CF. On the flip side, Bayern Munich has been absolutely phenomenal, basically steamrolling everything in their domestic league. Eight games, eight wins, and a goal difference of 26:2—it's ridiculous. In the Champions League, they beat Valencia CF in the first round, but then they tripped up with an away loss in Belarus against BATE Borisov. There's still plenty of group stage left, but with BATE sitting on 6 points, the landscape has shifted significantly. Valencia CF and Bayern Munich both have 3 points, and I suspect any further mistakes would make life very difficult for them to advance, much like Juventus. My take? Every big club hits a wall eventually, but Bayern Munich already "got theirs" out of the way last matchday. I think they'll prove they're still the favorites for the top spot with a win tomorrow.

Dinamo... Well, Dinamo is Dinamo. I don't even know what to say, really. I won't drone on too long, but I think we all know where Dinamo stands—or rather, where they *don't* stand—in terms of quality. If you can even call it quality. They’re one of the weakest links in the Champions League, something they proved last season, and they seem to be following the exact same trajectory this year. Meanwhile, PSG had a slightly rocky start domestically, but they've found their rhythm and now they're sharing the top spot with Marseille. In the opening round of the Champions League, they crushed Dynamo Kyiv 4-1, but then they choked away against FC Porto, losing 1-0. They’re currently third in the group, and if they stumble again this Wednesday, they're going to be in deep trouble, just like the other two clubs mentioned. They're playing against the absolute bottom-dwellers of the group, so I'm not expecting anything less than an away win.

So, that's my take on how these matches will play out. I was thinking about parlaying those three picks for a larger payout (for me, that's roughly $167), so I wanted to see what you guys think. What are your recommendations? Do you agree with my logic, or should I steer clear of certain legs?

Quick advice!

Remove the stake amount, otherwise, you're going to run into trouble with the forum rules...

Go with Juve and Bayern, but skip PSG because they aren't at full strength (Nen is out and I think Sakho is missing too, and they're both vital players). Also, watch out for Dinamo—they always seem to snatch a point from someone when you least expect it. Against Porto and Dynamo Kyiv, they basically beat themselves! 🤷

They grabbed a point away in England, but then choked at home against Shakhtar Donetsk. Personally, I think Shakhtar got lucky there, but hey, that's just football.

Shakhtar should cover the handicap. Watch the game instead of trying to predict the future. ☕

Scored some decent cash betting recently, so figured I’d try my hand at some Champions League picks here. 🙂

Tuesday

FC Barcelona vs. Celtic FC: Over 3.5 goals @ 1.70

The Scottish league really took a hit when Rangers left; now Celtic just doesn't have any real rivals. They’re looking sharp in the Champions League, but they aren't exactly built to go toe-to-toe with an unstoppable FC Barcelona side. Expecting a classic Barca blowout, though maybe the Scots sneak one in on a counter.

Valdes
Montoya, Song, Javier Mascherano, Fabregas
Fabregas, Xavi, Alexis Iniestas
Alexis, Lionel Messi, Villa Celtic

Celtic are desperate away from home in the Champions League—they've managed just 1 win, 6 draws, and 20 losses in their last 27 away matches.

FC Nordsjaelland-Juventus 2 @1.35

Props to the Danes, but they've wandered a bit too far into the Champions League for their own good. Juventus needs to sweep these points to head into the final stretch against Chelsea FC and Shakhtar Donetsk with a solid 6 points from this group. Juve is clearly the better side; look at how Chelsea dismantled them. Should be a smooth ride for Juve.

Total odds: 2.2950

Both Shakhtar-Chelsea sides are looking to net a 1.80 goal line

Shakhtar have been absolutely killing it in the Champions League lately—honestly, they’ve been dominant in their domestic league too. Last week against Torino FC, they were actually the better side, creating a ton of openings... if they hadn't been so unlucky in front of the net, they could've easily walked away with a win, but hey, they still managed to find the back of the net once.
Then you've got Chelsea, who just can't seem to keep a clean sheet this season, much like they couldn't last year. The squad is younger now, more mobile, and plays a much higher-octane offensive game—which basically means they leave huge gaps in the back for opponents to exploit right in front of Petr Cech.
Looking back at last season's Champions League run, they were conceding goals all over the place—a 2:1 loss at Bayer Leverkusen, a 1:1 draw with KRC Genk, and another 1:1 stalemate against Valencia CF during the group stages. And let's be real, traveling to Donetsk is always a nightmare for any visiting team...
Tactically, both squads are running a 4-2-3-1 setup, utilizing two defensive midfielders feeding into their attackers.
Shakhtar’s attack is legitimately dangerous right now—they've already hammered out 38 goals in just 12 league matches. They are definitely going to create chances, and honestly, I’m expecting plenty of goals from them too.
It’s the best play in my book.

FC Barcelona vs Celtic FC, first leg at 8:00 PM, 2/10 odds for home win

With Gerard Pique, Carles Puyol, and Dani Alves all sidelined, FC Barcelona has basically been hit by every injury bug imaginable this season, so it actually feels like a decent moment to take a little swing on them at a lower stake...

So, I spent all day yesterday harvesting the produce, and today? Today I went absolutely nuts and dumped my entire bankroll on Juventus and Bayern Munich. Honestly, I don’t even know if I want to win or lose at this point... I just need a break from this whole madness.

Winning is probably better—you can celebrate the victory and relax with the cash, rather than relaxing because you have nothing left.

There’s plenty of talk about missing players for CFR Cluj today, while the Galatasaray stadium is completely sold out; they've got a decent squad. If Cluj slips up here, their manager is likely looking for a new job tomorrow. Might be worth a shot—the odds look tempting.☕

Team news
Senegalese forward Modou Sougou is doubtful with a hamstring injury. Ciprian Deac (knee ligaments), Adam Vass (broken foot), Bakary Sako (broken leg) and Ronny (ligaments) have all been left out of CFR's UEFA Champions League squad after picking up major injuries in the opening month of the season.

I'm not really sure how big of a deal these guys are—honestly, I'm a bit out of the loop here. 🙂

By the way, if you want to see previews for all the matches, they usually have them right on the official site: http://www.uefa.com/uefachampionslea...347/index.html

I guess I'm wondering if the lottery doesn't actually offer any options for players to score goals, or maybe I'm just having trouble finding where that would be? 🤷

Doesn't look like it, honestly—everyone else seems to have it, though if you ask me, Wells Fargo actually has the best odds. 😉

Well, yeah. I have some credits on an online lottery site, so I was thinking of using those. I don't have a FanDuel nearby, but thanks anyway for the heads up😉

Real Madrid-Manchester United doesn't need to be some high-scoring blowout either, unlike what those guys suggesting 3.5+ overs are pushing.

I was kind of thinking about putting a parlay together with the New York Yankees, the Boston Celtics, and Manchester United. The total odds sit at 2.92, and I was honestly considering dropping a somewhat significant stake on it—well, significant for someone living on a student budget in Chicago 😁.
What’s your take on this?

What do you guys think?

Thinking is one thing, but actually knowing what you're doing is another 😬
you should probably spend some more time scrolling through the main thread; there are much better ways to make some real cash around here

Galatasaray-CFR Cluj 1 1,60
Lille/odg-Boston Celtics DA 1,80

KF - 2,88

I feel like Galatasaray really needs to grab a win here, and honestly, where else would they do it if not at home? The home team hasn't seen a victory in a full month, and I mean, maybe some coaching changes are coming if things go south... things could get messy. They might play with a real chip on their shoulder just to scrape some points, and in a situation like that, the visitors might actually struggle to keep up.
Lille will probably try to snatch a point or even three from the Celtics, but I guess they might not pull it off—though they could definitely score. They’ve been playing way better lately, especially out on the wings, so I'm hoping they find the back of the net regardless of how many goals the Celtics put up.
Good luck everyone, not just the bettors!
