The designer Hermann Tilke cooked up this 5.14 kilometer stretch of asphalt featuring 16 turns, and honestly, you can expect average speeds to hover right around 131 miles/h. That basically puts it in the same heavy-hitting league as the Circuit of the Americas (~131 miles/h) or Miami (~130 miles/h). They’ve got a massive straightaway where drivers will probably hit up to 199 miles/h, and if everything goes perfectly, a blistering lap should clock in at about 1 minute and 27 seconds.

I’m half expecting the race to play out like one of those Hollywood indie films; you know the type, where a girl from the upper crust and a guy from the working class don't even cross paths once during the whole movie, and yet everyone walks away with a happy ending!

Absolutely. There's zero reason for them to haul even a single lap out of here.

I suspect the track will actually be an improvement over South Korea. Those guys really did a number on us with that overtake.

I honestly have to wonder why these investors—and we’re talking about massive, multi-million dollar sums here—don't bother asking one simple question before breaking ground: Is this track actually going to be any good? Or more importantly, will anyone even care enough to show up?

Abu Dhabi. Pushing.
South Korea—pure aggression.
Bahrain. Aggressive driving. Or just poor defending? Hard to tell the difference lately.
China—aggressive overtaking.

Good grief, they burned through over a billion dollars just to end up with absolutely nothing. Not even a consolation prize—just a complete and total waste of money.

Personally, I think Bahrain and China are top-tier tracks, just solid vibes all around 🙂

Honestly, 10:30 is such a wild time for a race; I don't think we've seen a slot like this since I started following Formula 1 back in the day, maybe ten years ago or so.

We're all holding our breath for an inspired performance from the Force India crew! ☕

The stretch between 15 and 16 seems pretty short to me. I guess they didn't put them on the start/finish line because whoever overtakes there just gets screwed out between 3 and 4. It's kind of weird they even went with 2 DRS zones. This track is definitely acting strange! But hey, since it’s a new toy, it might be fun to watch, if only because everything is brand new 🙂

10:30 is a wild start time. Honestly, I don't think we've seen a slot like this since I started following Formula 1 about ten years ago.

Look, after a full work week, Sunday is my only day to catch up on sleep. Plus, I usually head out on Saturday nights, so sleeping in on Sunday isn't a crime. And with Mirkec acting up this weekend, I’ll definitely be staying up late anyway.🤷

Honestly? My big wish is for the DRS to just break entirely so we can finally sit through a normal, decent race for once☕

And you and your obsession with DRS... it isn't even about the DRS.

In my opinion, the DRS zone between turns 15 and 16 is alright... it just creates enough of a chance for an overtake on the start-finish straight... but then you get a pass between turns 3 and 4, followed by another one on the next straight 😬

Whatever. I honestly couldn't care less. If Alonso actually pulls off a win, maybe I'll feel a tiny spark of interest, but that's about it. I'm not even going to flinch if Hamilton ends up wrecking Sergio Perez again.
Let them fight for the prestige. I couldn't care less about who actually walks away with the win.
