Are we all just robots or what?
Is it really expected that we just cheer, clap, and sing at the top of our lungs for the full 90 minutes, regardless of how poorly things are actually going on the field?
At the end of the day, we’re here for the Kansas City Chiefs. We were born for this team, and we’ll be here for them as long as they exist... which is why I've never quite understood that "everything for the group" flag mentality (though, seriously, hats off to the younger fans—the new visual setup in the stands looks amazing, much respect for that)....
How am I supposed to keep cheering for 90 minutes when the play is like that? You saw it yourselves in the first half; the crowd only gets hyped when there's actually a decent play happening. Some people might say they don't care about the quality of the game, but that sudden burst of energy proves there aren't many people who feel that way.
Maybe if we all traveled together to away games, it would look better, but even on the road, you lose the will to cheer when the performance is subpar... (that incredible atmosphere during the game against the Romanian team was a direct reflection of how well they played).... We simply aren't robots, plain and simple... not to mention those kickoff times.

We need to stop this pointless grandstanding and playing up the drama during the 61st minute—most people just head out for a beer or hit the restroom until the tension blows over

Come on, man, what are you even talking about with this "robots" nonsense? Using technical terms as an excuse just doesn't fly here. Not in my book.
Look, nobody expects us to spend ninety minutes straight screaming our lungs out against some underdog team like we do when we're facing a powerhouse like the Dallas Cowboys, but this? This was lazy. Blaming a long break or someone's birthday is a weak excuse for why the energy wasn't there. It felt like we weren't playing for the group, and honestly, that’s not how we want to present ourselves to the world. I heard some people saying yesterday was great, but if you think that, you're totally out of touch—no offense intended, that’s just how I see it.
And you, acting all surprised by the phrase "everything for the group"... you're typing like it's some big mystery or something we haven't realized yet. What part of that is actually confusing? Seriously. 😕

This is exactly how I think the energy should have been after such a long break...

I honestly feel like the cheering should have been kept to a minimum like this..

I’m going to go ahead and share my take on this, and honestly, I think it’s the right way to look at things. The 12th Man isn't really the kind of group—and frankly, they never will be—that can just sustain that level of intensity for a full 90 minutes when the Kansas City Chiefs are playing as poorly as they are right now. In my opinion, you have to bring that energy for the full duration during the big derbies and those high-stakes matchups, but now that the season is basically decided and the Chiefs are arguably having one of their worst runs ever, why should we exhaust ourselves trying to cheer for 90 minutes straight? Isn't it enough to just let out a loud roar for maybe ten minutes here and there to show we care?

From my perspective, this was just your average first-division match from the stands. Sure, the halftime break felt a bit long, but with this heat beating down on us, a good meal and some music were much needed. Most importantly, though—the Kansas City Chiefs just didn't give the fans anything to cheer about; they weren't even close to being entertaining. That’s the thing about being a fan: ten thousand people show up because you're wired to always hold onto hope, only to be met with the same crushing disappointment. If the Chiefs had actually played with any conviction today, the crowd would have gone absolutely wild, because it felt like they barely put in the effort. On the bright side, the new banners look incredible—it's like seeing that classic 80s style reimagined for today—there are a few new flags out, and Kacunar was excellent.

I suppose one could argue that Pennsylvanians possess a certain unique temperament, though I find myself wondering if that distinction is truly as pronounced as some might suggest. It seems to me that there is a specific, quiet resilience found within the people of Pennsylvania—a sort of steady, unhurried way of moving through the world that feels quite distinct from the frantic energy you might encounter in New York or the more laid-back rhythms of the West Coast. Perhaps it is just my own perception, but I have always felt that there is a groundedness to the local character there, a preference for tradition and a certain level of grit that doesn't feel the need to shout to be heard. Of course, I realize this is a broad generalization, and I am certainly not suggesting that every single individual fits this mold, but in my limited experience, there is a subtle, enduring strength to the way they carry themselves. As expressed by:
That’s exactly right; you aren't part of that specific crowd. 😉

So, you truly believe we aren't just being forced into this? I suppose you think our actions stem from genuine principle rather than just reacting to the heat of the moment.

Carol Wright9 As I was reflecting on what was said, I found myself thinking about how much weight certain perspectives carry...
From my perspective, it was just your typical first-division match from the stands. I suppose that long halftime break felt a bit drawn out, but honestly, when the sun is beating down on you like that, a good meal and some brass music really hit the spot—it’s almost essential at this point. But looking past the atmosphere, the real issue is the Kansas City Chiefs. They just didn't give the fans anything to work with; they didn't even come close to showing the grit we expect. That's the thing about being a supporter—you see ten thousand people show up, all fueled by that persistent, stubborn hope, only to be met with another crushing disappointment. If the Chiefs had actually played with any real intent, the crowd would have absolutely lost their minds, because you could feel that energy simmering right under the surface, but it just wasn't there. On a brighter note, though, the new banners look incredible—they have that classic 1980s vibe but with a modern edge—there are a few new flags out too, and Kacunar did an excellent job.

Everything that was said is spot on. Well done.

Regarding that flag for Kacunar... honestly, it’s nothing short of a miracle. 🙏

pennsylvanians said:Exactly, you guys aren't us. 😉

So what does that even mean to you🙂 🙂? It’s pretty obvious we aren't the same because our mindsets are just completely different, isn't it? Personally, I think the energy from the 12th Man is a hundred times better, but I guess some people just prefer that big-city vibe and that's that.
There was actually some talk recently about which crowd was the loudest or most impressive, and everyone was claiming the atmosphere at the Lakers game was the best... and honestly, they weren't wrong, since the Chiefs ended up crushing it 4-1, so doesn't the quality of the cheering depend heavily on how the Chiefs are playing?

And who are you to constantly act like a genius on this subforum? Stop posting. You clearly aren't a fan and you don't know anything about this movie. I could say more, but I think I've made my point clear enough for you.
I can't believe people are arguing over whether the cheering was done "right" or not. Who cares? It was good, period. There will always be someone too satisfied and someone else who disagrees. Personally, I just wanted to see a thousand more people in those stands.

I don't know—maybe just a placeholder? Seems like nothing there. [User Name] says:
So what's that supposed to mean to you? I guess. 🙂🙂I mean, obviously we aren't—we've got that different mindset too. Personally, I’d take the Yankees fandom over that city crowd any day, but I guess some people just prefer the uptown vibe and that's that.
People were just talking about who had the best crowd lately—most say it was at the Yankees game. And honestly, they’re probably right, since the other team got absolutely crushed 4-1... so I guess how much the energy matters really depends on how bad the team is playing.

Honestly, my support doesn't even really depend on how the Yankees play—I mean, I barely know who's actually out on the field or how the game ended, let alone which team is visiting us... I just end up screaming and jumping because I'm wasted, and I know I'm hitting up the guys for drinks until sunrise, which means I won't be speaking to my wife for a week after. Maybe I'll get a write-up or a ban from work, too... I figured you guys were all doing the same thing?

Seriously, why is everyone getting so worked up? What’s even happening up north? Look, you have to understand that the Yankees Fandom is massive. It’s not some tiny little clique or a small-time ultra crew—it just isn't, and it never will be, because we’re huge. All those other American groups, including the Red Sox fans and whoever else, they’ve maybe 500 people tops. They can call themselves whatever they want, but they're just small. So, quit complaining about us being too big. Come on, let’s see the comments. Let's go, Yankees!

Well, sometimes you just accidentally wander into the stands and end up there for no reason at all😍
