Honestly, I don't quite grasp why they're struggling with parts shortages. They produce a single spare and then everyone starts bickering over who gets to use it—it’s exhausting. I mean... since when did manufacturing a set of wings become some sort of science fiction feat?

Look, considering they totaled both cars in Turkey😉
followed by Webber's wreck in Valencia
they probably barely scraped together enough cash to fix up that old Vettel's car from Turkey just so Mark Webber could even drive it. On top of that, they had to repair Webber's mangled mess from Valencia. You can't show up to a race without a spare car in case something goes sideways during practice, right?
Add some brand-new parts to the mix, and yeah, it’s no mystery why they're low on inventory. It was clearly a massive time crunch and nothing else.

To make matters worse, they went and slapped on that new wing, and now we're stuck. No spare parts, no backup components—hell, they don't even have a spare car sitting in the garage. Typical.🤣

So, what exactly is Red Bull's factory in China doing if all the parts are just being shipped over in containers?

if he actually read this, I swear my dog could bite me if he doesn't snag P2 on the grid tomorrow🤣

😂

Anyway, as for Alonso, sure, let's aim for 2nd place—just not on the grid, but on the podium.

Well, let's be honest, manufacturing even a single component for one of these cars isn't exactly a quick afternoon project...

Look, I’ll give Fernando Alonso second place, sure—but not on the starting grid, on the podium.

🙂 Robert Kubica takes second, then Nico Rosberg in third.😉

Mark Webber—Fernando Alonso absolutely wrecks him at Turn 1, Lewis Hamilton ends up scavenging parts off the track just to stay in it, swaps out his nose, and loses a massive amount of time when the Safety Car comes out, eventually finishing even behind Jenson Button.😬

Mark Webber—Alonso's a total wreck after that first corner. Lewis Hamilton is basically picking up scraps off the track; he keeps going, but after swapping out the nose and losing massive time during the Safety Car, he actually ends up behind Jenson Button. 😬

If you're worried, I'm terrified.
Do you honestly think Mark Webber is obligated to share his destructive streak equally? Not even close.

He slammed into Lewis Hamilton on the penultimate lap (where exactly? Lewis was overtaking Fernando Alonso at the time), took out Sebastian Vettel while fighting for the win, and then started picking off the Cosworth engines too.
But when it comes to that first turn, Ferrari drivers always seem to dive out of the way, so it’s probably just someone else who’ll get hit next. Heaven forbid anyone tries to overtake them (like Lewis Hamilton 🙏).
It's a shame Felipe Massa didn't get a better starting position. He's the official number two driver, after all. The others just pretend they aren't.

Sure, that's true, but if the crew decides to rip a fresh front wing off Mark Webber's car right before qualifying just to slap it onto Sebastian Vettel's car—leaving him to deal with whatever scraps are left—that’s a pretty wild move 😁 , regardless of how many wings they're pumping out in the factory....
Then again, if you're actually one of the main players fighting for the championship and the team can't seem to pull enough front wings out of thin air, then things are getting...😁
What's next, begging other teams in the pits to lend them a spare part because apparently their aero budget blew up, Adrian Newey is spending like there's no tomorrow, and they have to get a little creative just to stay in the race...😂

Red Bull provides the wings! Oops, actually, they just take them 🤣

Good grief, I just realized there is only a single second separating the top two from the rest of the pack. Is there even a 0.1% chance that Alonso and Hemofarm might mess something up here?

Yeah, once Red Bull Racing starts losing their wing aero.🤣

What's next? Scrounging through other teams' garages to borrow parts because aero components cost too much? Apparently, Adrian Newey spends money like he's playing Monopoly, so they have to get "creative" just to keep up...😂

This reminded me: you really have to sweep your own porch first. ☕

There's also this little reality check: no matter how much talent someone has, drivers like
Heikki Kovalainen, Mark Webber, Rubens Barrichello, or Felipe Massa—even if the team labels them No. 1 or if their No. 2 teammates pull over and clear the way or cover their backs—these guys will never be champions. They always find a way to screw it up themselves.

That’s my take. It's basically:
Hamilton was leading, Kovalainen was a non-factor.
Kimi was nothing to Massa.
Button was nothing to Rubens.
Even with Mark Webber sitting 19 points ahead of everyone else with two races left (unless Red Bull manages to screw both of them over, which is possible 🤣), he’d still probably blow it with his typical blackouts, lose his cool, and miss those crucial points even if you held a gun to his head. 🤣

If Red Bull finally figured that out, kudos to them. They might actually stand a chance this season. But I doubt it. They’re too incompetent for that. Last year they practically handed the title to Jenson Button on a silver platter by messing up themselves, and they’ll probably do it again this year. The real question is who's going to snatch it: Lewis Hamilton or Fernando Alonso? 🤷

Both Vettel and Webber could win the title this season if they played it perfect; the car definitely allows for it. But the team is too thick-headed. They let the internal drama run wild instead of setting priorities like McLaren did (who made it crystal clear that Lewis Hamilton is No. 1 and Button is second). Because they can't get their act together, they'll likely end up with nothing at all.

stormybadger8 said:It’s just more of the same, really—another day of watching the drama unfold while everyone pretends to be surprised by how things actually work behind the scenes. I remember sitting in a diner outside of Indianapolis back in the day, listening to guys talk about how much they hated the politics of the sport, and honestly, it feels like nothing has changed since then. It’s all just noise and predictable patterns.

This really just reminded me that you have to sweep your own doorstep before you start worrying about what everyone else is doing. ☕

There’s this one little thing people always forget, though—you could argue that even if someone went absolutely all out, a driver like:
Whether you've got Kovalainen, Webber, Rubens, or Massa behind the wheel, it doesn't really matter. Even if the team designates one of them as the No. 1 driver or has the No. 2 guys pulling over to let them through and playing bodyguard on the track, none of them are ever going to touch a championship. They'll always find some way to mess it up themselves, and that’s just how it goes.

That's just how I see things, honestly.
Lewis Hamilton's just playing the water carrier for Kovalainen again, basically nothing but a placeholder.
Kimi was always just a bit of a lightweight compared to guys like Massa—nothing more than a footnote in the grand scheme of things.
If that had been Button instead of Rubens, he wouldn't have stood a chance.
If Mark Webber actually had a 19-point lead heading into those final two races—assuming he wasn't trailing Sebastian Vettel—Red Bull would have probably just found a way to screw them both over anyway.🤣Honestly, if he hadn't been dealing with those blackouts, he probably would have just smoked everyone and cruised through both races, making sure those two crucial points didn't slip through his fingers like they did.🤣

If Red Bull actually figured things out, I’d give them credit, but let's be real—they don't have a prayer this season. They're just too incompetent for that kind of consistency; they basically handed the championship to Jenson Button on a silver platter last year by tripping over their own feet, and I can already see them making the exact same mess of it this time around. At this point, the only real question is whether Lewis Hamilton or Fernando Alonso is going to be the one to swoop in and snatch it from under them.🤷

This season, both Vettel and Webber could realistically walk away with the title because the car is fast enough to do it, but the team is just too incompetent. They let all this internal drama play out without stepping in to fix their priorities, which is a far cry from how McLaren handles things—they’ve made it crystal clear that Hamilton is No. 1 and Button is strictly behind him. Because they can't get their act together, they’re probably going to end up walking away with absolutely nothing at the end of the day.

And where exactly did McLaren say any of that? 🤷 Look, just don't start talking nonsense, please. 🤣If anyone actually thinks there’s some kind of internal drama going on, they’re clearly missing the point—it’s just those geniuses over at Red Bull pulling a move where they strip a wing off one car just to hand it to the other driver. It isn't like they're scrambling because they're desperate; it's their car, their rules, and they'll do whatever they want with it. Just one second. Faster than anyone else on the grid.

Another thing—you nailed it in your post, and Kovalainen actually touched on that whole concept of team orders, where they decide which driver gets priority based on who’s having the better race. From what I can tell, both Red Bull drivers are sitting right on equal footing at the moment. 🤷

Arthur Doyle70 said:And where exactly did McLaren emphasize 🤷 , please stop talking nonsense 🤣. If anyone emphasized anything, it was the geniuses over at Red Bull, who just strip a wing off one driver and hand it to the other... It's not like they're scrambling to grab whatever they can find; their car is 1 second faster than its closest competitor
.
Second thing, you're making sense in that text—Kovalainen explained that whole concept of team orders regarding which driver is in a better spot. From what I can see, both Red Bull drivers are in the exact same position 🤷

.

And what about telling Button to "save fuel" 🤣?
Give me a break. Gumbek is way faster than Hamilton and the crew, and they basically told him "get lost or get stepped on."
It’s blindingly obvious that McLaren is the only team where a No. 1 and No. 2 driver dynamic exists. Since Hamilton showed up, the No. 2 was Alonso, then it was Button, and Kovalainen was used to that crap from his Renault days anyway, so he didn't complain about different cars or anything else ☕
.
I’d even say Massa deserves a shot at beating Alonso (which isn't like him to pull off), but Button doesn't stand a chance against Hamilton. All these stories about how Hamilton crushed it in qualifying while Button was clueless are total BS. It's clear whose car actually got the work done and who was the priority. They cobbled a car together for Button and built a masterpiece for Hamilton.

Now, when it comes to the wing scandal at Red Bull, it's the former and current McLaren people—Witmarsh and the rest 🙄—who are being the loudest again 🤣
. God, they're driving me nuts this season. Why don't they just buy that Red Bull from Mathezic and stop worrying about everyone else's business? Seriously, they're getting exhausting. They spend day and night digging through the Red Bull garage, constantly whining to everyone, the papers, the FIA, everywhere. If they were actually that capable, they would have copied the Red Bull design perfectly by now instead of doing this half-assed job 🙄
.
Just watch how these "experts" work. Alonso filmed the Red Bull during qualifying and he'll have it copied by the time they hit Germany. Then both him and Massa will eat you alive. You're the ones complaining and suing; you screwed yourselves over. Having no No. 1 driver is your own fault, even though you had one once. He'd have a field day mocking these whiners 🤣

man, you guys are at it again 🤦
anyway, quick question 😬 are you all planning on catching the race on Pop TV, German public radio, or just streaming it online? 😁 (well, mostly asking for myself... trying to figure out which of those three is actually the best move 🤣)

All I can tell from reading this is that you’ve been hitting the bourbon a little too hard again, rambling about nonsense and talking out of your neck.🤣🤣

If Red Bull put even half the effort into fixing their brand identity that McLaren did when they restructured the team to give two world champions identical gear and the exact same upgrade pace, 🤣 🤣 we wouldn't be sitting here waiting for them to actually get their act together...☕

Anyway, I'm heading out for a bit. 👋 I honestly don't get why I have to walk you through the basics before every single race. 😬 😉
