Adam Collins4 said:If we look at Metličić during the 2009 World Cup, his average shooting percentage from beyond the arc was hovering around 50%...

Once again, you've got the facts wrong...

The way Metličić played back then compared to his last three or four tournaments—not counting the games against Denmark—is like night and day.

Back when he was playing in cities like that, it felt like he was basically just giving Olafur Stefansson a five to ten minute breather, which honestly wouldn't surprise me one bit.

I'm really not interested in you digging up specific statistics to argue with me right now; I'm simply telling you the impression he left on me while watching him play, and if you look at the results, they speak for themselves.

And as for what I said about Kopljar, I was obviously just joking around, though I don't think he's the sole reason why the American wing players aren't getting the ball nearly enough.

I made my point a long time ago and I’m sticking to it: American handball is just too slow these days, and one of the main reasons behind that is Balić.

How so? Explain.

Balić needs to get his act together and grab that ball.😁
I mean, let's be honest, we're pretty much nothing without him on the court, so things really need to start moving a bit faster.🙂

Even if we're nothing without him, we really need to pick up the pace...🙂

And who exactly is going to use that power line? 🤷

I don't know about you guys, but I really miss Džomba and his dry wit 😢

As for the game, I’m going to go grab a drink, so it won't hurt as much if things go south during 😁

casualskipper8 said:Look, Kopljar is going to find his rhythm tomorrow. He’ll absolutely tear through Dance just like how Metličić used to dismantle them a few times back in the day. Just wait until he starts picking Hvidt apart and starts pulling off those crazy plays with Čupić....

It's going to be a total festival for handball fans.

Exactly. And then, in all his glory, Lino will step onto the court himself just to show everyone why he's considered the doctor of this sport. He’ll run circles around the team twice as effectively as Balić ever did, firing assists from the center straight to the wings, while those stunned Danes just sit there frozen by his sheer genius, clapping away for the magician. Once he's pushed the squad to their absolute limits, Lino will pull out that signature outside shot—something so lightning-fast that Hvidt won't even see it coming. Then, at the very end of the game, an ecstatic Gobac and Sandi Šola will storm the floor and basically tell the whole world to shove it. 👍

Of course, after putting on a masterclass like that, the coach will immediately start prepping tactics for the third-place match, because it'll be painfully obvious that France isn't even remotely prepared to handle the combined genius of Lino and Kopljar. 🙏 😍

casualskipper8 said:I am quite certain Kopljar will be back in top form tomorrow, and he is certainly going to dominate Dance just as Metličić did on those previous occasions. You will see exactly what I mean once he starts picking apart Hvidt and begins working those seamless plays alongside Čupić....

It is going to be a true celebration for the sport of handball.

🤣😂

I find myself missing Džomba. And Pero. And Sulić as well.

Put Gobac on the grill. 😠

Kazo Wilbek mentioned he’s got a particular soft spot for Kopljar... is he pulling our leg or what? I'm just trying to figure out how we should take that, because honestly, that kind of Danish humor doesn't really fly here in the States.

😂 Haha, alright, let’s just assume that was some sort of obscure Scandinavian humor we weren't meant to understand. Truly hilarious. 👎

It’s most likely a heavy dose of sarcasm mixed with some desperate, upside-down optimism, probably an attempt to play the field by pushing Kopljar instead of Buntic. It's pathetic, really... but honestly, we've only got ourselves to blame.

😂 for the sake of it... He could easily go even further and describe how horrified everyone would be if they paired Lino with Gojun instead of LK Mataija during our push against LV. 🤣

Well, you just ruined everything.

Honestly, I’m feeling pretty anxious about today’s game... and all those wild theories floating around online. I actually agree with what one user mentioned earlier—just like how Perišić was struggling, the whole national team seemed to be falling apart. And look, you can't ignore the age factor. Our absolute peak was back when we played in Portugal and Athens; the guys were young then, and Coach was still fine-tuning everything. Lately, it feels like we’ve just been hanging on by a thread to reach the finals, only to get torn apart in two consecutive losses. We can blame the officiating for that lost final in the Arena all we want, but it isn't just about the refs. We played terribly because we completely burned ourselves out during that grueling match against Poland.

It’s honestly sad how much we stress over this while they just play however they feel like. Most of these players don't live for the national team; they live for their clubs, so... I don't know. Look, I love this national team more than anything in the world, but some things seriously need to change. That’s just my take—and nobody has to agree with me.

Even though I wouldn't call myself a die-hard supporter of Team USA, I really have a feeling we're going to pull off the win today; honestly, from what I've seen of Dance during this tournament, the performance hasn't been anything to write home about.
