I think the mods over at Alternative for Change are killing it and doing a solid job 👍 They make sure these specific threads stay strictly on topic. They’ve got every right to ban trolls because those people just clutter up the discussions. People come here to swap stories about alternative treatments and natural medicine, not to deal with noise. I don't get why anyone would complain when posts that have nothing to do with the topic get nuked—that's how you keep a thread focused. In my opinion, Luis is a total pro at moderating, and I hope he keeps it up for the sake of everyone else in the group.

How should Alternative for Change handle moderation, considering this isn't a dedicated forum designed for it? Most people will likely push back from day one...

The folks visiting the Alternative for Change PDF are here specifically for the alternative—usually because conventional medicine failed them.

That’s just the reality of it.

From what I can see, only Luis and dustyharbor18 are actually trying to bring some order to the PDF—even though the homepage lists Danaye and Phoenix Omega too.

I haven't run into those two yet.

Luis, keep at it.

Gregory Turner71 said:What’s even the difference between that and what she turned that forum into over at Alternative for Change, other than the platform they use?

I suppose you have some people acting like authorities, telling others how to treat their illnesses just to sell them supplements. Naturally, they lack any actual medical credentials to be doing that.

And please don't drive me crazy with this talk about amateurs just giving casual advice. These are people posing as experts, convincing others to ignore their doctors just so they can peddle products. It isn't some naive conversation; it's a calculated business designed to make a decent amount of money.

Alternative treatments are organized precisely because there clearly is a collective demand for them. The most obvious reason people turn to them is when modern medicine fails them. Medicine has its limits, I guess. Everyone knows that...
The people you claim are playing authority figures are just those who managed to solve their own problems using alternative methods. It seems logical to me that they would want to share that enthusiasm with others.
How would you feel if you recovered from some chronic or incurable illness? I doubt you'd care whether the cure came from a professional or an amateur.

Kyle Nelson2 said:- attempts to start threads like "Alternative methods that don't work" (by Scott Allen10) are being closed. Why?..

....what a joke of a question.

😂
yeah, hilarious question

it's because those methods don't even exist!!!😍
another thing is people don't stick to basic laws you can just learn from nature during their lives, and also because most folks look for natural cures only after a sickness has gotten so bad it's hard to get the body back into balance—which is where it should be if we want to stop disease from developing.

one more thing... the alternative healing subforum is for talking about ALTERNATIVE WAYS TO HEAL, treat, etc., not against them!
that thread is just trolling, it belongs in some other subforum—like jokes or general health—not in ALTERNATIVE HEALING!!!!

Kyle Nelson2 said:- people (xy, including me) who show up in this subforum trying to expose the scammers among certain so-called alternative practitioners get flagged. Mods can see posts (especially in the Cancer Treatment thread) where people act like they're doctors and knowingly mislead readers who don't realize that, for example, a 'natural medicine doctor' doesn't officially mean anything.... attempts to explain that such titles aren't real degrees etc. etc... result in flags...

your attempts at indirectly explaining on the ALTERNATIVE board that science is ONLY what's recognized in the West are pointless! degrees earned in the alternative world carry more weight here than your attempts to prove the opposite through provocation. so maybe just avoid those topics if they bother you and/or if you don't know that world, especially since you approach threads like a troll and a provocateur. just stick to Reiki, which you clearly have something sensible to say about, and contribute to the topic that way.

Kyle Nelson2 said:- trolling individuals who talk about pharmaceutical conspiracies instead of alternative methods is tolerated... for a long time... instead of being flagged or banned or having those topics moved to another subforum along with David Icke and stuff like that.
...

see, see, you actually gave me a great idea! 😉
Maybe I'll drop some info on the whole vaccination thing too!
😂
alt methods, conspiracies, Big Pharma, David Icke, plus tips on how to moderate and spot trolls🤔..... man, you're clearly just a mess. Like, how much do you even know? You're trying to connect all this nonsense in one single sentence.
Honestly, I don't even need to comment on that. This is just straight-up trolling!

Kyle Nelson2 said:I guess the reason for that kind of 'moderation' is because everything considered an alternative seems so trendy to this moderator. Since she's the one being called out, she thinks all the alternative folks are just great and wonderful...

My "trendy" and "wonderful" alternative crowd...😍🤣

Kyle Nelson2 said:In my opinion, if someone can't stay neutral when moderating a subforum, they should probably stay away from moderating altogether. Take Shady over in the Religion section—they never push their own religious views while moderating...

It’s pretty obvious you don't get the basics here.
The religion subforum is about religions—period. It’s clear that no single religion should be pushed or put down there! It’s a board about religion, not a discussion about TVs!
And it’s not about whether a moderator is "biased." Every moderator is also a regular user who can choose to post or not. Plus, moderation styles vary depending on the subforum. The issues mods face in the Religion section aren't the same as what happens here in the Alternative section. This specific board is for alternative perspectives and non-mainstream approaches—stuff that falls outside the standard American medical system, education, religion, science, and the media spin we get fed every day.......
=) THIS IS WHAT "ALTERNATIVE" MEANS!

Oh, and another thing! Anyone who’s actually well-meaning or has some actual knowledge/experience in alternative fields is welcome here. That’s exactly why this subforum became a place for people to gather and meet others interested in the same stuff. Because of that approach, this board isn't a place where frustrated "experts" who know nothing can try to drive away quality users. In fact, that vibe is why we see more posts on alternative medicine than most other boards on this site, and why we have more daily regulars joining in. Posts that don't add anything to the discussion, or are just hostile and provocative without any reasoning, will still be unwelcome. They'll be deleted or result in a ban!

I don't see the point in wasting energy on endless arguments all over this board.
There's already a thread for that, isn't there?

Alright, let me weigh in on a few different posts here:

- Look, I’m an advocate for alternative stuff—my username pretty much says it all—and I’ve been "into" this since I can remember. But honestly, having spent so much time in these circles, I’ve learned how to spot the difference between people who actually care about healing and those who just see a massive cash cow. Some of these people won't even give you basic advice, even when they know it's wrong and could literally lead to someone dying, just because they don't want to lose a sale.
- If I point out that a certain user's "degree" from a place like Mayo Clinic isn't actually a real degree—meaning it's just a piece of paper recognized by that one specific institution and basically worthless anywhere else—that’s not trolling. It’s just a fact.
- And if I call someone out and ask them to explain their method—like, what does it actually do, what's the foundation, is there any actual research or clinical data behind it—that isn't trolling either. It's just wanting information.
- Or if I point out that a user's stories don't add up—like claiming they patented a drug but keeping it "secret," even though patent filings are public record, or exaggerating the costs of filing a patent by hundreds of thousands of dollars when the real fees are way lower... well, calling out an obvious lie isn't trolling. It's just stating what's happening.

Furthermore:
- If I get banned or told I'm just being "frustrated" by the moderators for making these points, then I have a choice: either the moderator gets banned for that kind of bias, or I’ll just take a permanent ban on this site myself.

Edit:
I'm not attacking the supplements or liquids people choose to drink. At the end of the day, personal freedom means people can choose how they want to heal, whether it's some herbal tea or whatever... you live, you learn, you deal with the consequences. But, if someone is intentionally kept in the dark, then the person withholding that info is the one responsible.

Morgan Hernandez5 said:Oh, one more thing... regarding the PPDF—there’s actually a specific subforum dedicated to alternative medicine. It's where people go to talk about and debate all those different ways of healing and holistic treatments, you know? That kind of stuff. And it’s not even against the same people!
This whole thread is just trolling. It doesn't even belong here. This belongs in some other section—like a jokes folder or maybe a health tips PDF—but definitely NOT under ALTERNATIVE MEDICINE!!!!

So, what you're actually saying is that if I criticize certain alternative methods mentioned in that PDF, it's basically off-limits? Is that really how this works?
So, what you're saying is... we're only allowed to have a discussion if it’s strictly positive? I mean, really? That sounds kind of ridiculous, doesn't it? I guess we're just supposed to sit around and clap for everything? Maybe that's how they want it, but it feels pretty limiting, if you ask me.

Morgan Hernandez5 I guess what they’re saying is...
And another thing! Honestly, anyone who actually means well—or even just has a bit of real-world experience or knowledge in alternative circles—is more than welcome here. That’s exactly why this forum turned into such a solid hub for meeting people and connecting with others who live outside the mainstream. This whole site became a community for us because we don't tolerate that typical gatekeeping bullshit anymore. I'm just so incredibly fed up. Honestly, I don't even know where to start. Everything feels like a constant uphill battle lately, and I’m reaching my breaking point. It’s just one thing after another, and frankly, I’m tired of pretending it isn't exhausting. I guess I'm just venting, but man, things are getting ridiculous. Look, we’ve got these self-proclaimed "experts" trying to drive away the actual quality contributors around here. It’s honestly ridiculous. Because of that exact attitude, everyone just flocks to the alternative therapy sub-forums instead. That's why you see more and more people joining those specific threads every single day while the main discussion boards just sit there gathering dust. Let me be clear: if you're posting stuff that doesn't actually help this community grow, or if you're just being hostile and provocative without even bothering to explain your reasoning, you aren't welcome here. Posts like that are going to keep getting deleted or getting people banned. Period.

Maybe we could just start throwing these grades around like they actually mean something, but hey, that’s your call... you always were better at handling this stuff than I am.

Look, I think I’ve made my point. I’ve laid out enough arguments to cover it, and I've already put them all out there...
Look, to this so-called "spiritual" forum regular, her entire arsenal of arguments has always just been the same old stuff—handing out digital citations, accusing people of trolling, venting her frustrations... it's always been that kind of nonsense.
I mean, I haven't even heard any actual arguments yet...

Look, like I already said, either give me a permanent ban right now or you need to apologize for some of the things you've been saying. Otherwise, someone's gonna have to step in and get you written up.

Being in this rabbit hole for a long time has shown me exactly who’s actually trying to help people heal and who’s just running a massive grift. There are people out there treating this like a gold mine, refusing to give even the most basic, obvious advice—even when they know it’s wrong and could literally kill someone—just because they don't want to lose a buck.
- If I point out that a certain user’s "degree" from some random holistic institute isn't actually a real degree—it's just a piece of paper that's only recognized by that one specific building and holds zero weight anywhere else in the US—that isn't trolling. It's just a fact.
- And if I call someone out and demand they actually explain their "miracle cure" method—like, what does it actually do, what's the science behind it, are there any actual clinical trials, etc.—that’s not being a troll, either. That's just wanting actual information.
- Or, if I point out that someone's story doesn't add up—like when they claim they "patented a secret medicine," even though patent filings are public record, or when they claim filing costs hundreds of thousands of dollars when the actual fees are way lower—then calling them out on a blatant lie isn't trolling, it's just spotting a fraud.

This right here? This is basically the heart of the whole problem.
I really hope people start taking what you're saying more seriously, Kyle Nelson2.

It’s pretty clear to everyone that even mainstream medicine has its limits. . .
The people you’re labeling as "fake authorities" are usually just individuals who actually managed to fix their own issues using alternative methods. From my perspective, it makes perfect sense that they’d want to share that success with others.
Think about it—how would you feel if you finally recovered from a chronic or terminal illness? Would you really care whether the cure came from a board-certified specialist or someone else entirely?

And here we go again with this line of reasoning... what you're describing isn't the behavior of an enthusiastic user, it's the behavior of a guru. This whole thing is a calculated, systematic effort to undermine the medical profession—it's designed to feed gullible, often desperate people exactly what they want to hear. At the end of the day, it's just business and niche marketing.

Look, I actually feel bad when natural or alternative treatments start beating conventional medicine in the results department, but that’s just called evolution. It's common sense—less efficient methods get replaced by better ones. We should be thankful this sub exists to spread info on methods that will eventually replace today's garbage—stuff that's proven to be useless or even dangerous in real life, not just on paper.
I think calling these topics a "calculated, systematic attempt to tear down" anything is nonsense. These methods are light years ahead of "traditional medicine" when it comes to actual effectiveness. But the people using or pushing them aren't the issue. 👍 The problem lies with the people who don't have a clue what they're talking about when they try to defend the status quo. Don't get jealous. Get off your butt, sit down, and start studying so you can actually become effective and learn how to heal people for once.

man, that's such a hilarious question

it's because those methods just don't exist!!!😍
plus, there's the whole thing where people just ignore basic natural laws their entire lives, and then they go hunting for holistic cures only after an illness has already gone totally haywire—making it nearly impossible to get the body back to that sweet spot of balance we all need to stay healthy.

oh, and one more thing... the alternative medicine subforum is specifically for talking about and exploring DIFFERENT ways to heal and treat things, not for bashing them!
this thread is just trolling, honestly, it belongs in some other section like jokes or general health, definitely not under ALTERNATIVE MEDICINE!!!!

So I see I'm getting dragged into this indirectly too... and man, reading this, I'm just staring at my screen in disbelief... Morgan Hernandez5, you doing okay over there? Maybe catch a fever or a headache? Or maybe you just need a night out? Look, if you don't like my thread, feel free to just lock it, but please don't come at my friends with these kinds of silly, nonsensical explanations.
When you shut down my "Alternative methods that don't work" thread before, I didn't make a huge scene because I figured there was no point in us moderators going at each other's throats, but when you drop a half-baked, pointless rant like the one above, it doesn't leave me much choice.
Calling the topic "trolling" is wild, especially since I'm actually trying to learn from you alternative folks what *doesn't* work, because common sense tells me it’s impossible for every single random thing some guy on the internet claims is a miracle cure to actually be effective.
The whole point of the thread was to separate the actual experts from the total frauds, and since you clearly aren't seeing that—or maybe you're just choosing not to—a real discussion would have ended up actually helping the alternative community in the long run.
But nope... you just call that trolling... 😵...whatever...
I won't even get into a full-blown debate here, but Kyle Nelson2 said exactly what I was thinking in his recent posts; basically anything with a grain of common sense would have said the same thing.
Or do you seriously think any bit of criticism or pointing out blatant nonsense is off-limits just because it's posted under the banner of alternative medicine? Hmm...
If using actual logic is "inappropriate" or "trolling" to you, then I guess you really can't claim to be an authority here.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to start a war over how the moderation works elsewhere, but I had to address your reasoning because, as I've already said, it's just completely baseless...

Kyle Nelson2 said:So, to address several posts:

- I am a supporter of alternative methods (my username implies that), and I have been "involved" in this scene for as long as I can remember. However, because I have been around so long, I can see the difference between people using alternative medicine to actually heal and those who just see it as a cash cow. Some won't even offer basic advice—even when they know it’s wrong and could lead to death—just to protect their profits.
- If I point out that a specific user's "degree" from a certain institute isn't actually a degree, but just a piece of paper recognized only by that one organization and essentially worthless everywhere else, that isn't trolling. It is a fact.
- If I ask someone to explain how their method works, what it's based on, or if there is any actual research behind it, that isn't trolling either. It is just a request for information.
- If I state that a user's claims don't line up—like claiming a drug is patented and secret when a patent filing is a public document, or exaggerating costs (claiming hundreds of thousands of dollars when the real fees are much lower)—then I am not trolling. I am calling out an obvious lie.

I guess this seems like reasonable argumentation to me—definitely worth noting. 👍

The truth is that the alternative scene is full of all sorts of characters. A lot of people spout incredible nonsense, which ends up casting doubt on the parts of alternative medicine that are actually worth paying attention to.

As for moderation, that is a different issue entirely. It is incredibly difficult to balance opposing sides. In my opinion, the best tactic is probably just trying to reduce tension on both sides. Maybe someone's argument is technically correct, but the way they present it still matters.

Maybe you’re some kind of world-class astrologer, or the ultimate tarot reader, or maybe you’re an Ayurvedic guru... I don't know. Maybe you make the best MMS on the planet, or perhaps it’s that silver you're always talking about... It’s all just one big, messy colloid... everything blending together until you can't tell where one thing ends and the next begins. It's getting harder and harder to find any solid ground lately...Look, you might be the biggest tough guy on the local talk radio circuit, but please, for your own sake, stop trying so hard. Using all those long, pretentious foreign terms doesn't make you sound smarter—it just makes you look ridiculous... 😉

I don't even know where to start with this. It’s just... ugh. I guess I'll try to explain, but honestly, it’s a mess. Everything feels totally off lately. Maybe it's just me, but I can't shake the feeling that things are heading south fast. Just my two cents, I guess. Total chaos. Morgan Hernandez5 says:
So I see I'm getting dragged into this indirectly too... well. I can't even believe what I'm reading right now... Morgan Hernandez5, you okay man? Seriously. Is it a fever? A headache? Or maybe just a lack of sex? I don't even know anymore.Look, you can close my thread if you don't like it, fine. But leave my brother alone. Honestly, these explanations are just... I don't know, totally braindead and stupid. Just plain dumb.
Look, when you shut down that thread about "Alternative methods that don't work," I didn't even make a scene. I figured there was no point in complaining, since as moderators... We’re out here killing it, but this text is just... I don't know, totally pointless. Just a bunch of fluff. What kind of crap did you write up there? It doesn't leave me much room to work with.
Calling this a troll thread? Please. I’m asking you alternative types to actually explain something for once. Like, what exactly is it that isn't working? Because... I guess. Just common sense. It’s honestly unreal how they try to throw everything at the wall just to see what sticks. Like, seriously? It’s like they think every little thing is gonna fix it. I don't know. Maybe. But it's getting ridiculous. Total idiot. And even there, it says it actually works. I guess.
The whole point of this thread is just... I don't know, maybe we should just give it a shot. Let's see what happens. Telling the wheat from the chaff. Or, you know, separating the real deal from the posers. It’s a thing. Since that's the case... Either you're blind or you just don't want to see it, I guess. The way this debate is heading? It’s obviously gonna play right into the hands of the alternatives. I guess.
Nah... you're saying that's just trolling? I guess... maybe.😵...Whatever.....
Not even gonna get into the weeds on this one.I guess Tarot's been posting a lot lately. Or maybe he's just hitting his final stretch here. Who knows. Man, he basically said exactly what I was thinking.I mean, anyone could write that. Honestly. There was some actual logic there... maybe.
So you think every little bit of criticism is just some huge personal attack or whatever? I don't know. Maybe. But honestly, it feels like you're just being sensitive. Pure nonsense. So, written under some kind of ban... is that alternative stuff actually off-limits? Hmm... maybe. I guess.
But if it’s really like that... I mean, maybe. Common sense logic. Maybe. You think it’s "inappropriate" or just some "troll" move... fine. Whatever. Honestly, you don't even have a reason to call it "spiritual."".
Got it.Whatever. Not looking to argue about this. The moderation over there is a joke, honestly. Total disaster. This is already a review. Look, what you're saying about your reasoning... it matters, I guess. It really does. Total waste of time., Like I said before....

🤔
What the hell were you actually trying to say?

I guess I can mostly pick out two things from your post:
1. Low blows, constant snide remarks, and that whole condescending attitude. Just pathetic. I think you missed something there. You just typed "i". What are you trying to say?
2. So much typing just to end up saying absolutely nothing.

evo otprilike ovako izgledaju postovi (vecina) zdravstvenog radnika alopatske medicine napisan na alt.lijecenju.
Look, there was just too much going on. The mocking, the insults... all that crap coming from your end.
And then you expect people to actually take you seriously? Like, really?

I don't know. Maybe I just don't get it. Or maybe it's just common sense? I guess we'll see. [User Name] says:
