Hm, you sure something isn't actually biting you? Could it be an allergy to something else—like a new fabric softener, laundry detergent, or even those pajamas you wear? I used to have this thing where my hands and feet would just break out in these tiny bumps, looking like I'd been mauled by some bugs, when really it was just my pajamas. I had two or three identical pairs in different colors. It took me forever to realize there wasn't a single insect in the house; it was just the fabric. Ever since I stopped wearing them, the skin issues vanished. If I accidentally slip one on just to try it out 😁, the reaction comes right back.
Maybe you're dealing with the exact same thing.

Amy Ramos3 said:So, I didn't sleep in my usual room last night, and I woke up this morning with a few more bites. Honestly, they feel just like mosquito bites. Usually, when a flea bites you, you feel that sting immediately, it itches for a couple of hours and then moves on, but these marks have been hanging around for three or four days now. My cat wasn't even in the room where I slept, though it’s possible we accidentally brought some fleas in on our clothes. Still, I can't help but suspect mosquitoes, mostly because they absolutely devour me all summer long, while nobody else in the house gets touched. It's just me getting eaten alive; my mom doesn't have a single bite on her.
Is it possible the mosquitoes just woke up now that it's getting so warm? 😕😕😕

It's definitely possible, since the mosquitoes have probably woken up too. Though, usually, if a mosquito gets you, it's a one-off thing—a single, larger, firmer, "itchier" bite compared to your standard summer mosquito. With mosquitoes, you can usually hear them or see them, and you can just swat them away or grab some Raid and be done with it in an hour or two. Fleas require a totally different approach. You could have easily carried them into rooms where the cat can't get to them; fleas aren't picky about who they host, whether it's a cat, a human, or a mouse. Once a mosquito has had its fill, it stays quiet for a while, but fleas tend to bite day after day. Maybe Google what a flea bite looks like; there are plenty of photos out there so you can compare. You clearly have "sweet" blood if they're targeting you that much.😍

I actually dealt with something similar once—I had two or three identical pairs of pajamas in different colors, and I'd wake up with these itchy spots on my arms and legs like I'd been attacked by bugs. It took me a while to realize nothing was actually biting me; I was just allergic to something in the fabric. Ever since I stopped wearing them, the problem vanished, but if I accidentally put them on just to try them on again 😁, the itch comes right back.
Maybe that's what's happening to you.

That happens all the time, even when you buy the exact same detergent or softener, just because they formulated it slightly differently for a different market...

Personally, I used to have this issue where my hands and feet would break out in these little itchy bumps, almost like I'd been bitten by bugs... turns out it was just my pajamas (I had two or three identical sets in different colors). It took me a while to realize nothing was biting me; it was just a reaction to the fabric itself. Since I stopped wearing them, the problem vanished—though if I try them on just to test things out 😁, the itchiness comes right back.
Maybe you might be dealing with something similar.

Yeah, we actually started using a new fabric softener a few days ago, though I'm not entirely sure if I was wearing anything washed with it when the first spots appeared. And sometimes I get this sensation like my whole body is itching—but honestly, maybe that's just me being paranoid 😁
When mosquitoes actually bite me, they really go to town—it's never just one single sting. Besides, I've had cats my entire life and they've never once bitten or scratched me... even back when I'd visit my grandma and find a flea jumping around on me, it never actually caused a reaction.

I am seriously losing my mind from all the vacuuming lately; I don't think I've ever cleaned the house this much in my entire life. 🤣

Something most likely bit my left hand while I was sleeping on Friday night. When I woke up the next morning, it felt exactly like I’d slammed my hand against a hard surface—pretty painful, actually. Things seemed fine throughout the day, and the pain had subsided, but then the swelling started creeping in overnight. Now, my hand is noticeably puffy from the inflammation. It isn't itching or stinging at all, which is odd. Honestly, I haven't the slightest clue what could have bitten me—I am absolutely certain it wasn't just some mosquito.

When I woke up the next morning, it felt like I’d taken a heavy hit right there—just a dull, nagging ache. Everything seemed totally fine during the day, pain completely vanished, but then once evening rolled around, it started swelling up. My hand is looking pretty puffy now. It doesn't itch or sting or anything, which is weird. Honestly, I have zero clue what could have bitten me, but I know for a fact it wasn't just some mosquito.

1. A spider
2. A hornet
3. ???

-The winter was pretty mild this year, so these little monsters have been multiplying like crazy and they're definitely loaded with venom

Get yourself to a doctor ASAP, and let us know how things turn out

I’m leaning towards it being a spider—I actually spotted one the other day while I was closing the sliding glass doors, and it scurried off into a gap in the window casing. I’ll definitely be seeing a doctor tomorrow. I'll check back in once I know more.

I woke up this morning and noticed the swelling had finally started to subside. After heading over to see my doctor—who, frankly, was a bit too casual about the whole thing—he told me it was most likely just a spider bite. Since the inflammation is clearly backing off, he insisted there’s nothing to worry about and that it’ll pass without further incident.

Hey everyone, so here’s the deal: basically at some point during the day, I’ll just get this random itch, and then boom—there’s a bite right where it was itching (you know, red, puffy, and super annoying). I did a little digging online and everything pointed toward bed bugs, but the thing is, I’m not seeing these bites in those classic patterns or lines like you usually hear about; instead, I’ve got one on my shoulder, another on the opposite arm, two on my stomach, one on my leg... Is there any actual chance these could be bed bugs, or—and I am seriously praying for this—is it just mosquitoes doing their thing?

If you aren't hanging out in the room, just give the whole place a good spritz with some bug spray for maybe two hours or so.
Don't even think about cracking a window once evening hits or during the night.
Honestly, if you start getting bitten again, I wouldn't bet on them being mosquitoes.

Is it old bedding?

Thanks so much for the tip, I'll definitely hit you guys up and let you know how everything turns out!

And just so we're clear on the bedding situation, that's really not the issue here because I'm super diligent about swapping out my sheets constantly, plus I make sure all my duvets, comforters, and blankets get tossed in the wash on a regular basis.

Honestly, every single year right when the weather starts turning cold, these weird little flying bloodsuckers just show up out of nowhere and spend days—sometimes even weeks—just picking us apart.
And man, they aren't even mosquitoes...

Alright, so I decided to go full DIY mode and completely stripped down my entire room since it’s one of those tiny studio apartments where everything is crammed together. While I was checking out the edge of my mattress, I spotted these tiny little white specks—they look just like leafhoppers, maybe a millimeter at most. I actually ripped open the seam on one part of the mattress to see if I could find any of that black fecal spotting or those larger bugs you always see in those terrifying bed bug photos online, but honestly, nothing. So now I'm sitting here wondering: am is this actually bed bugs or just some weird kind of mite situation? Just to be safe, I went ahead and doused the whole room, the mattress, and all my furniture in BioKill Extra, and now I'm just letting the fumes clear out before I try to crash. I gotta know though, is it even worth trying to fight this stuff off with spray, or am I better off just gutting the whole room and starting over? And what about my clothes? Do these things hide inside my wardrobe too?

Hmm, if we're talking about larvae, I’ve got a bad feeling that it actually makes sense to go ahead and spray one more time in a few days.
I honestly have no clue which specific bugs we're dealing with here, and even if I did, I haven't exactly studied the life cycle of every insect under the sun, but I'm pretty sure you'd need at least two or three rounds of whatever insecticide you're using—not that I'm certain every single insecticide doubles as a larvicide 🤔.

I’m definitely gonna have to scrub down at least another two or three times to feel right, but man, the mental toll this takes is absolutely wild because now I’m sitting here itching over every single little thing, even stuff that doesn't even need attention! 😵

So, a mosquito bit my forearm earlier today, and now there’s this weird little bump there. It gets all red whenever I scratch it, too—kind of itchy and tender if I touch it.
Do I need to be worried about this, or is it just one of those harmless reactions to a bite? Usually, when I get bitten, the redness fades away within an hour at most and that's it.

Something bit or stung me on the back of my thigh. I can't tell if it happened while I was moving around at work, driving, or during those five minutes I spent sitting on the couch at home. I didn't even realize it until I was changing clothes and felt a sore spot on my skin. I’m assuming it’s a spider, but I have a few questions.

It doesn't itch or burn. There's a central blister that hurts when touched. Around the blister, there's a red ring and some swelling. It's been swollen for three days now; it only hurts upon contact, but otherwise, nothing else is going on. It isn't spreading, and it isn't shrinking. The blister was smallest on the first day, then it swelled up and just stayed that way. It doesn't react to ice.

How long does this usually last, and should I even bother calling a doctor? What could this actually be? :/ I don't think a spider has ever bitten me before, so I'm honestly not sure how to handle this—is it actual venom or just an allergic reaction...
