In my case, my nose just feels... sanded down. And I mean literally sanded, like when you use an emery board on a nail 😲. I know this because they did mine under local anesthesia and... yeah, I have a bump. But honestly, it seems to be getting smaller and smaller—or maybe it's just how I'm looking at it.
I don't think you can even see it from a direct profile view anymore; now you can only catch it from a three-quarter angle....
So, it’s pretty obvious that the nose keeps changing shape. I had my procedure about two months ago.
It still hurts whenever I touch it, and the stitches haven't fallen out yet.

Does anyone actually know when the stitches in your nose are supposed to come out?

My threads ended up finishing right after the second month, but honestly, that color is driving me crazy—plus there's this stupid, woody texture that's really starting to bug me...

It’s been over two months since my surgery, and honestly, the tip of my nose still feels kind of numb. Like, after a workout—say, after running for about half an hour—I get all flushed, but the tip stays this weird, throbbing sensation, almost like there's zero circulation going on in that specific spot. Since they focused most of the work right on the tip itself, I was wondering if that’s why... does anyone know how many months it usually takes for that feeling to finally go away?

Honestly, I feel the exact same way—most of the work was concentrated right on the tip of my nose. And let me tell you, that numbness lasted forever... seriously, it stuck around until just recently. It wasn't until seven months after the surgery that I could finally say I actually felt my entire nose and the tip properly. 😁
I was honestly pretty terrified at first, too. My nose felt totally numb and wooden, like it didn't even belong to my face anymore—just super weird and unnatural. But honestly? Everything settled down and feels fine now, so I don't think you need to stress about it too much.

I went through my own procedure just about two months ago—everything went perfectly fine, by the way. But then today, I was reading that Dr. Ostojic operated on some girl's nose last year, even though she's only fifteen now. Personally, I find the whole thing rather questionable—even if her mother did give the consent. It seems silly to me, but I suppose that’s just how things go these days.

Mine feels just as wooden to the touch—and incredibly painful... if I accidentally bump into anything, it’s like seeing stars for a second there...😢

Thanks, that actually makes me feel a bit better. I know deep down this is all pretty normal, but I still got a little worked up... then again, I'm only at the 7-month mark since my surgery, so I guess I just have to hang in there and wait it out🤷...But really, the most important thing is knowing that this feeling eventually goes away🙂...

Exactly... it's a total disaster. Honestly, what kind of flaw is that? And don't even get me started on that stupid, unnatural color—it’s just hideous. Everything looks fine until my face starts turning red, then suddenly the tip of my nose looks totally bizarre. I mean, maybe I'm just being hyper-critical and noticing it more than everyone else, but people definitely see it too... even if they aren't making a big deal out of it.😠...

Guys... has anyone else actually noticed when someone gets nose surgery?

Because honestly, nobody has even suspected a thing about me. Even when I tell people directly that I went under the knife, they just look at me totally confused and ask what my nose even looked like before!

Heh, nobody gets it—not even when he was practically carved out of quartz.
That whole thing happened at the hospital, mostly due to health issues—plus a little side project to fix my nose—but honestly, I’d still go smaller. I don't know, though; does that mean you have to reconstruct the entire nose? My issue is that I have a relatively small head and I'm pretty thin, so the nose just stands out way more than it should.🙄

It’s not even obvious to anyone else that I’ve actually put in any work—even though my waistline is definitely narrower than it used to be—but I suppose that’s just something known only to those who truly know me.

I scheduled a consultation with Glumicic yesterday. The earliest available opening isn't until April 27th.😲 At this rate, how long would I have to wait just for the surgery? This is absolutely terrible...😠

So, you're looking at a month-long wait for surgery.

Thank you🙂 Though I doubt things are quite like that right now, since most people decide on surgery before the summer, plus they have their annual leave. We shall see... I am torn between June and August, basically deciding whether to go before or after spring break... By the way, how long should I avoid direct sunlight after the procedure? And does the tip of the nose change if only the bump is being corrected? My main goal is just to smooth out the bump, though I would love a tiny bit of narrowing at the tip too—especially if there isn't a massive price difference—but I am honestly a little nervous🤷

Ashley Morgan73 said:Thank you.🙂 I have my doubts that the current situation is any different—most people tend to schedule their surgeries before the summer hits, especially since they’re using their vacation time. But we’ll see. I’m currently torn between June and August—essentially deciding whether to go before or after the holiday season. My main concern, however, is recovery: how long should I realistically avoid direct sunlight following the procedure? Also, from a technical standpoint, if the surgeon only targets the hump, will there be any noticeable change to the nasal tip? My primary goal is simply to smooth out the bump, though I would love a very subtle refinement of the tip—provided the price difference isn't massive. I’ll admit, though, I'm feeling a bit apprehensive about the whole thing.🤷

It’s entirely possible you’ll be facing a longer wait—summer is right around the corner, after all. Even I had to wait about three weeks for my consultation, and nearly a month before the actual procedure. From what I understand, scheduling nose surgery during the summer months isn't exactly recommended; you have to avoid direct sunlight, you can't wear glasses, and you have to dodge all those annoying little things like blowing your nose—all for at least six weeks. As far as the cost goes, I suspect the price remains largely the same regardless of the specific tweaks, though obviously, correcting a deviated septum will run you a bit more. In my case, they removed a bump, straightened the bridge, and slightly narrowed and lifted the tip. Just a word of advice: expect the tip to drop slightly during healing—don't lose your mind if it looks a bit too high immediately after surgery. At the end of the day, the most important thing is that you actually trust your surgeon.

Thanks again, Laura Castillo7. I’m really hoping everything turns out okay...🙂 I sent these exact same questions to Dr. Ostojic, so if anyone else is wondering about the details:
Dear Madam, you may go out into the sun as soon as any bruising has subsided, which typically takes about 7 to 14 days. It is certainly possible to reduce the bump without working on the tip of the nose, though in that case, the tip will remain unchanged. The pricing for the rhinoplasty correction remains constant; $900 $167 for the procedure under local anesthesia with sedation, or $1,100 $167 for the procedure under general anesthesia. Best regards,
Dr. Duje Ostojic

Ma'am, you can get back out in the sun as soon as the bruising clears up (if there's any), which usually takes about 7-14 days. And yes, it's totally possible to fix the bump without touching the tip of the nose—though just keep in mind the tip will stay the way it is. As for pricing, the cost for the aesthetic correction is always the same: $9 $167 for local anesthesia, or $11 $167 if we go with general anesthesia. Best regards
Dr. Duje Ostojic

I actually had my consultation with Ostojic too. I told him I was pretty nervous, and he suggested general anesthesia is probably the better move for me because of my pulse—otherwise, he can't perform the surgery. Looks like I'll most likely be heading in for the procedure around the 20th.

Dear Patient, you may resume sun exposure as soon as the bruising has subsided (if any remains), which typically takes anywhere from 7 to 14 days. It is certainly possible to correct a hump without working on the nasal tip; however, in that case, the tip itself will remain unchanged. The pricing for an aesthetic rhinoplasty remains constant: $9 $167 for procedures under enhanced local anesthesia, and $11 $167 for those performed under general anesthesia. Best regards,
Dr. Duje Ostojic

True, but the point is that I am still dealing with bruising—even though it’s been over a month and a half since my surgery—so clearly, recovery is highly individual. Just the other day, I spent the entire afternoon walking around town, finally enjoying a bit of sunshine, only to have my entire nose break out in pimples by that evening.

Hi everyone🙂

Has anyone here undergone a simple "dorsal hump reduction" alone?😁

To be clear—I am not looking to change the tip, width, or length of my nose—but rather just smooth out this bump (😢) when viewed from the profile. Is such a targeted procedure possible, and how does the process work? Also, the pain factor—how bad is it?

I’m honestly pretty terrified—I know a girl who had full rhinoplasty on her entire nasal structure, and she’s still dealing with intense pain even four months later...😢😢
