To be perfectly honest, I was bitten by mosquitoes so relentlessly that I simply couldn't stop scratching those massive red welts, which inevitably led to open sores. I applied Neosporin to the wounds, and while they did heal, they have left behind these stubborn purple spots where the skin used to be broken. They just refuse to fade. Has anyone else here dealt with this exact issue, or does anyone have a suggestion for what I might apply to get rid of them?🤷

I had the exact same thing happen last summer, and then just three days ago—it bit me right on the cheek! Now I’m stuck with this huge red mark that won't stop itching. I tried everything from St. John's Wort oil and Aquaphor to insulin, but honestly, it's only the Hydrocortisone that seems to be doing the trick. As for those purple bruises? Last year they just faded away on their own after a while. Seriously though, what kind of mosquitoes are even out there leaving marks like this???😕

Maybe you're just allergic to bug bites or whatever. Honestly, I deal with the exact same thing, it's a nightmare. Those little patches don't do squat, though—total waste of time. Your best bet is probably grabbing some Benadryl or something similar to take the edge off the allergy, then maybe you won't keep breaking out like this.😉👍

Olivia Sullivan14 said:So, I let myself get absolutely eaten alive by mosquitoes recently—the kind of bites that swell up into those massive, angry red welts. Naturally, I couldn't help myself and scratched them until I actually broke the skin. I ended up using some Neosporin to help the wounds heal, which worked fine for the initial recovery, but now I’m left with these stubborn purple spots where the scabs used to be. They just won't budge. Has anyone else dealt with this kind of lingering discoloration, or does anyone have a suggestion for what might actually work to fade them?🤷

Honestly, I’m really hoping you aren't dealing with the exact same thing I am...
My situation developed a bit differently—mostly a combination of puberty, acne on my upper arms, and my own nervous habits. I used to pick at those breakouts, and then I’d obsessively tear at the scabs once they formed—creating those tiny little micro-wounds. Now, years later, I’m left with these brownish-purple spots in those exact same areas. Honestly, I find myself wondering if I'll ever actually be able to get rid of them.

Honestly, Karen Young17, you’ve really managed to spook me there. These spots have been sitting on my skin for at least two months now, though I do have a feeling they might be starting to fade. I am holding out hope that they'll just clear up on their own since there isn't some miracle cream available to bleach them away any faster.😉

Honestly, looks like you got hit by some tiger mosquitoes. They've been popping up everywhere here in the States lately. Last year, I got absolutely wrecked by them out on Manhattan, specifically in that massive stretch of woods between Newport and Key West—I’m always wandering through the brush and thickets like a maniac. Ever since those islands and purple patches showed up, all I’ve got to show for it are these weird pale spots on my upper arm. A bit of aloe gel worked wonders for the itching and the sting, though.
