So, I think I might need some professional advice if anyone here can weigh in. Here’s the deal: about ten days ago, I took a bit of a tumble on some ice—only about a foot or two off the ground—and landed right on my lower back. I’m pretty sure nothing is broken, because let’s face it, I wouldn't even be standing right now if I had snapped something. My best guess is that I just pulled a muscle or strained something. It’s weird, though—it doesn't really hurt when I'm just walking around, and if I poke the spot, it’s not too bad. But the second I try to bend over or do anything remotely strenuous with my legs, the pain kicks in pretty hard and lingers for maybe half an hour or so. It’s been ten days now, and while the pain is definitely dulling down, it feels like it's healing at a snail's pace. If this is just a standard strain, does it usually just resolve itself given enough time, or am I looking at needing to see a doctor or a physical therapist?

I’m pretty sure nothing is broken since I was able to get back up, but I think I might have strained something. It doesn't hurt when I'm just walking or even if I touch the spot, but the second I bend over or try any heavy leg movements, the pain hits me hard. That sharp pain usually lingers for about thirty minutes. It’s been ten days now, and while the intensity has gone down, it's taking forever to actually heal. If this is just a muscle strain, does it just resolve itself eventually, or should I go see a doctor?

I think you already know what the answer is. Go get an X-ray or an MRI. Anything is possible with back injuries.
