WTF?? What the hell is this?

So, I just had surgery on my leg—to be more specific, they removed my plantaris tendon—and now I’ve got this blue thing sticking out of the incision. It looks kind of like a thick suture (check the photos), but honestly, it feels way too chunky to be just thread. On top of that, they didn't actually stitch the wound shut; instead, they used those metal surgical staples (see that last pic). I actually tried to give it a little tug with some tweezers, but no luck there; it feels like it's tucked a bit deeper under the skin. Does anyone actually know what this is? I really don't have the bandwidth to trek all the way down to the hospital just to have some doctor tell me they botched the job while I'm sitting here in absolute agony. 😠

It looks like suture material; I've definitely had that same blue stuff before. 🤷Keep in mind, doctors also use internal dissolvable stitches that just break down naturally in the tissue.

It looks like suture material; I've definitely had that same blue stuff before🤷. Just so you know, they also use internal stitches made from dissolvable thread that breaks down in your tissue.

I don't know, maybe that's just how it goes. In that case, let it all fall apart
