So you just copy—for example—that marked-up garbage code into the post and...

I'm having issues specifically with this one site (no clue why🤷), because I've pulled tons from other sites before and it’s never been an issue.😕
Obviously, I copied and pasted... I mean, come on, it's not exactly rocket science.🤣🤣 🤷

Why does it happen that whenever I paste a code for a Smiley in my post, it just turns into a link instead of showing the actual Smiley? 🤔
#31 ·
It looks like you might be trying to drop raw HTML code in here. If you're just copying and pasting, you’ve got to wrap that link in (image). Otherwise, the system won't recognize it. You can either manually add those IMG tags yourself, or just use the "Insert Image" button on Reddit to make things easier.

I'm definitely not using HTML here 🙂
But since you brought up that "insert image" thing, I did a little digging and realized that option doesn't even exist on UNICEF's site. That's why I haven't been able to get any Smileys to show up at all.
Why is that?

Why is that?
Because posting images is disabled on UNICEF. Images aren't allowed on all subreddits. Each one has its own Rule of engagement listed at the bottom, so just read what's permitted and what isn't.

Ah, okay. It honestly didn't even cross my mind that there might be a restriction on that. Anyway, thanks for the heads-up, guys.

I signed up yesterday... everything seems to be working fine... except for the whole thing where I can't seem to post a Smiley.
"Smileys are Him"
Why though?

Something's not working right?
Try inserting a Smiley here. If that fails, just explain what you're doing.

Here’s the deal:
I type out my reply, hit the Smiley icon (down in the bottom left under the Rule of engagement), pick one from the menu, click it, and... absolutely nothing happens.
BB code is ON
Smileys are ON
IMG code is ON
HTML code is Not applicable
That’s how my settings look according to the Rule of engagement.
Thanks in advance for the help!

At least, that's what it shows in the Rule of engagement.

😁
You aren't actually clicking a link called Smiley located under the Rule of engagement; you have to hit Reply first to get to the actual selection menu. If you're just using the "Quick Reply" feature, you'll have to manually type in the smiley code. To actually click them visually, you need to be in the full "Post Reply" mode—basically, you have to click on or .

Thanks!
Then what's the point of the QUICK REPLY button?
Or am I just asking too many questions? 🙄

It’s just like the other one, except the quick reply feature lacks all the functionality of this version. For instance, there aren't even any Smileys.
