If you're using Safari, it’s quite straightforward—just click the smiley icon, and a pre-formatted link will appear for you to simply copy and paste into your post.

If you're using that site, clicking the smiley will generate the link below (just make sure to select UBB instead of URL). That link needs those specific image tags: (image).

The image shows up fine on Reddit, but if you try viewing it in a web browser, it just displays as a raw link.
