The band first kicked things off back in 1997 over in Chicago, and they've been absolutely crushing it on the live circuit ever since, haven't they?
Back in 2000, this group first started making waves with their unique blend of industrial and crossover sounds, occasionally sprinkled with just a touch of coldwave metal. While you might notice their musical direction shifting slightly from one record to the next, the core of their sound has always remained firmly rooted in industrial. Up until now, they've mostly focused on releasing a steady stream of DIY albums and various EPs, but since 2005, things have really started to pick up speed with their promotional efforts, leading to a surge of interest from all sorts of international labels reaching out to them. Isn't it fascinating how a band can maintain such a consistent foundation while still evolving through different releases?

Back in 2007, they actually entered that contest hosted by Nine Inch Nails and managed to land a spot on the list of eight remixes featured on the bonus disc for the Year Zero re-release, which is slated for March 2008. They're also putting out...

If you’re sitting there wondering what DREDDUP actually sounds like, how can I even begin to describe it? If you find yourself gravitating toward the heavy hitters like Laibach, Ministry, Nine Inch Nails, Throbbing Gristle, OhGr, or even Clawfinger, then you might just have found your new favorite obsession.

Looking back at 1998, I can't help but wonder if we truly grasped how much impact the Abnormal Waltz release was going to have on the scene? It came out through that incredible trifecta of Amduscias, Dadaist Audio, and Neurotic Minds, and honestly, wasn't there something just uniquely electric about the way those labels collaborated back then?

Looking back at 2005, I find myself thinking about that standout release from Mr. Borndead's Feast, specifically the LP put out through MoocSound and Dadaist Audio over in the USA. Doesn't it feel like such a distinct era for music when you revisit those specific sounds?

As per usual, the DREDDUP crew has been busy scoring yet another gritty underground cult film. This one is actually the fourth installment in the Well horror series, a saga we've been following since back in 2002. The fourth chapter has finally arrived, and you can grab it for free right here at this link:

I gave the first track on MySpace a listen without much of an impression, only to have it suddenly die on me right when the second song started. 🙂

I gave them a listen, even went as far as downloading the album...

But honestly, the main thing was seeing they were tagged as industrial. Once I realized they weren't playing that heavy stuff like Godflesh, Alchemist, or Nailbomb, I just deleted it right then and there...

So yeah, it wasn't really my vibe...

@Hannah Wood4: Hey there! I honestly think those bands you mentioned aren't really playing pure industrial, but rather industrial metal and nu metal instead. Isn't it all just a matter of personal taste, though?

I have some wonderful New Year's news to share with all of you:

After spending an entire year working away in secret on an album featuring covers of our favorite—and even our least favorite—acts, we have finally finished our first volume CD. We aren't quite sure how many volumes this will end up being since we have a million different cover ideas swirling around in our heads. For now, here is the first disc, featuring 18 tracks from various artists we both love and loathe.

OhGr is absolute garbage, almost rivaled only in pure nastiness by this new, reincarnated Skinny Puppy incarnation.

I honestly didn't know whether to laugh or cry when I caught the music video for that track with "the greater wrong of the right." It’s not like I actually listen to them, but what a total joke for a band that used to be the heavyweights of that whole American-Canadian pop-dance-industrial scene.

Come on, don't be like that! Cracker is such a huge hit! 😳

Total garbage, honestly.

Now Ogre’s gonna show those guys in the neighborhood how you stay breakdance-ready while remaining dark and dangerous at the same time.
