How to speed up my PC?

Take a look at your Task Manager and see which specific application is eating up most of your memory (Mem usage). Once you find it, just right-click on it and select "End Process" to shut it down. If you haven't messed with any settings yet, doing this should fix the issue immediately, and even if you have tweaked things, a quick system restart will bring everything back to how it was before... To disable it permanently, you'll need to follow the steps the guys mentioned above, specifically by going through msconfig under the Startup tab...

Internet Explorer and svchost.exe seem to be consuming the bulk of my memory usage... I'm not entirely sure what their specific roles are in this process.

Here’s the setup—it’s basically the same stuff as the run-config, just laid out differently so you know where to go. Honestly, since I applied these settings, my rig has been running like a dream for eight months straight. No lag, no nonsense.

This is where I kill off all those useless services that just sit there sucking up resources and slowing down your PC for no reason. Just right-click the specific service, hit Properties, and flip them to this:

Maybe give it a shot by reinstalling the audio drivers...

Well, I used to have them... but my ex-boyfriend uninstalled everything from my computer...

Is it possible to just download them online?
