The correct term should be chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL).
Since this particular type of leukemia progresses so slowly, people can often live quite long lives, sometimes even without needing active treatment.
Look, cancer is a massive ocean of misery, but your mom actually caught a much smaller wave. She needs to focus everything on her quality of life—eating clean and doing whatever she can to boost her immune system. We've covered this extensively on the forum already.

Thanks a ton for getting back to me. I haven’t even touched my computer today because I've been stuck running between hospital visits and everything else life throws at you. Seriously, thank you. I checked out the link you sent to get up to speed, and my mom actually just got discharged from the hospital, too. We know exactly what we're up against now. It's true—dealing with leukemia is a whole different beast than the cancer she had before. Now we're gearing up for therapy, hoping her body can actually handle the hit. Thanks again, truly.
