Listen, if anyone actually knows anything, speak up.......

Someone I was talking to had this tiny little bit of foam sitting on their lip. It looked pure white, almost like whipped cream.......
I felt too awkward to call them out on it in the moment, so now I'm stuck wondering. Does anyone have any idea what that could be?
Thanks

It’s entirely possible that the individual is dealing with epilepsy, since that foaming at the mouth is such a common symptom that tends to come and go with those who have the condition

a is there a chance this happens if they're using drugs? I don't know for sure if they're on anything, but maybe

I haven't heard that before... I've heard it happens during a seizure, but not like this.

So, I’ve seen some people end up with this white buildup in the corners of their mouths—honestly, it looks more like dried saliva than actual foam, which is just... yikes. If that’s what you were getting at, then yeah. It doesn't seem like it's tied to any specific medical issue or anything; it just looks kind of gross.🤮

That's what I mean... but I don't get how you can get that much buildup just from saliva.

Trust me, there are definitely people out there who have stuff like that on their mouths—I've seen it a few times myself... it isn't pretty.👎 But it's not some disease. Foaming at the mouth is a totally different story.

If the individual remained conscious, we aren't looking at an epileptic seizure; rather, drug involvement becomes a factor if there was a disturbed mental state. If respiratory distress was present, pulmonary edema is a significant possibility.
In any case, the foaming at the mouth carries no clinical significance...
