What antivirus are you guys using?

What kind of antivirus are you all running these days, and more importantly, does it actually work? Are you satisfied with your choice, or just resigned to it? Also, are you layering on any other security software, or do you prefer to keep things lean?

Norton AntiVirus, ZoneAlarm Firewall, and a handful of spyware tools.
So far, I haven't run into any issues with viruses, Trojans, or any other kind of filth...🙂

I don't bother with any antivirus software. I'm running macOS 😛 🙂

I’m quite happy with NOD32 at the moment.
I just stick to the standard Microsoft firewall; I’ve never been particularly fond of ZoneAlarm.
Every so often, I find myself tinkering around with "HijackThis"
And, naturally, I rely on Spybot Search & Destroy, running a full scan in Safe Mode about once a month just to be thorough.
That’s really all there is to it...

Oh, and one more thing... I don't touch that clunky Internet Explorer.

I've been running AVG Free for a year now. So far, so good—not a single Virus has slipped through 👍 .
I pair it with Comodo Firewall and Spybot, then run Windows HijackThis and Autoruns to keep an eye on everything running on my Microsoft system.
And obviously, I don't touch Internet Explorer.

Haha, I’m totally laughing along with you!!! Honestly, I just stick with the Avast home edition. It’s awesome, it’s free, and it handles all my anti-spyware needs without breaking a sweat... I mean, why bother with anything else? If it flags a Virus, I just wipe it out and call it a day. Besides, everyone keeps telling me that NOD32 is way too "heavy" for my computer to handle. lol...

And yeah, I honestly think it’s just common sense to switch to a different browser at this point. It's far too easy for all those little "pests" to just waltz right through Internet Explorer and cause trouble.

NOD32... I'm loving it. Running it on my desktop and my laptop over Verizon-Internet.
I'm online constantly, and in just the last few months using NOD32, it’s already flagged 5 or 6 different Virus attempts...

Well, mostly... I have tried just about every antivirus software out there that actually carries some weight, you know? And the very last one to join the fray was Kaspersky... oh man! Please, could those of you who are currently running it tell me a little bit about your experience? Specifically, how much does it slow down your computer? Right now, I am working with a system that has 2.8 GHz and a single gig of RAM, and honestly, ever since I installed Kaspersky today, everything seems to be running at half speed! It is quite a struggle, too, because I just cannot seem to get the configuration settings quite right, though I must say, the program itself is truly excellent. Maybe there is just a slight sluggishness when I am browsing the web, but otherwise, it is okay—except for that one major drawback where it just drags the whole computer down. Up until today, I have been using NOD32, and I am thinking, perhaps, that I might just go back to NOD32 after all. To add to the mix, I also have ZoneAlarm and AVG Anti-Spyware running alongside everything else.

Well, I actually still find myself using Internet Explorer from time to time... I suppose the real trick is just knowing how to get the configuration settings dialed in exactly right, and once you do that, it honestly works perfectly for me. I do have Firefox installed on my machine as well, but I don't think I could ever bring myself to swap out IE for Firefox, even if I tried. 🙂
