So here we go, everyone—give me your thoughts on an actress who is just as good at playing a vampire slayer, a provocative femme fatale (Cruel Intentions), a sexy victim of crazed killers (I Know What You Did Last Summer, Scream 2), a ditzy girl (Scooby-Doo 1 & 2), or an obsessed nurse (The Grudge 1 & 2).

I absolutely lost my mind when I heard she’d be in Alice by McGee.🤮

She's desperate and incredibly unlikable.

Fine, go ahead and shoot if you think you're right😉))hehehehhe..
Look, calling her unlikable... hmmm, I don't know about that. People might find her beautiful or ugly depending on their taste, but saying she's unpleasant? I just don't see it. She seems really sweet, and from everything I've seen, she’s been great. Even those clips of her private life suggest she's actually quite nice... then again, who knows? It's all just speculation, I guess...

Series of Wonderful Maladies (produced by HBO) premieres on June 9, 2009. I really hope the show turns out to be any good and that the pilot actually lands... fingers crossed, I guess.😉

I actually feel bad for some of you. She’s one of those rare actresses in Hollywood who isn't constantly plastered all over the tabloids—she’s got genuine talent, a steady marriage, and she’s expecting her first kid. Honestly, I think what people are actually craving is just more debauchery and drugs. That’s the stuff that sells—people like Paris Hilton, who was born into massive wealth and had her entire persona manufactured by a world that turned her into a headline-grabbing party girl, while actual talented people get pushed to the sidelines. Personally, I think Sarah did an amazing job in Buffy and Series of Wonderful Maladies—even Scooby Doo, since she can play such different roles. I’m just waiting to see her performance in Veronica Decides to Die! If it doesn't blow you away, it'll probably just be because you're being stubborn. And even if she isn't making headlines in our local gossip rags like OK! does—which, by the way, loves to invent stories—it doesn't mean she isn't a big deal. I once saw a piece claiming she was releasing a new album because she has this "beautiful voice," only to hear her tell the whole world in an interview months later that she’d rather not sing at all. It's just another one of those lies spread by "elite" magazines. In the US, she’s one of the most respected and talented actresses out there, yet our theaters still end up screening trash like some Hollywood flop starring Paris Hilton. It’s no secret that the American entertainment industry can be pretty shallow sometimes.

I guess what people are really missing—the stuff that makes someone famous—is just constant partying and drugs. That’s all anyone talks about: people like Paris Hilton, who was born a regular girl with a mountain of cash, and her whole lifestyle turned her into this party girl headline magnet. Meanwhile, people who have actually achieved something through pure talent get pushed to the back pages. Personally, I think Sarah did a great job in Buffy and Series of Wonderful Maladies, and even in Scooby Doo because she plays such different roles. I'm just waiting for you guys to see her performance in Veronica Decides to Die! If it doesn't blow you away, it'll probably just be because you're being stubborn. And even if she isn't plastered all over our local news like someone from OK!, which just makes up stories anyway (for example, since Sarah is my role model, I saw an article claiming she said she had a beautiful voice and was dropping a new album, only to hear her tell the whole world in an interview months later that she'd rather not sing. That’s just one of the lies our "elite" magazines put out), it doesn't mean she isn't somebody important on the other side of the world. In America, she’s one of the most respected and talented actresses, yet our domestic industry keeps buying crap like that movie with Paris Hilton. It's no secret that the entertainment business here isn't exactly top-tier.

Wow, talk about talent in Series of Wonderful Maladies... she was brutally bad in that one... Ryan Phillippe and his wife at the time were twice as good...
And all that garbage about tabloids, what does that even have to do with acting?
Gene Hackman doesn't get dragged through the papers and he's one of the best ever...
Edward Norton doesn't get dragged through the papers and he's going to be one of the greats..
Meryl Streep doesn't get dragged through the papers...
etc etc...
SMG is an average actress and she'll probably stay that way... And honestly, she isn't even that pretty..
Maybe you should stick to reading Teen and OK! and leave judging an actor's actual ability to the rest of us...

Look, I don't read Teen or anything—I'm not ten years old anymore.
You really think I'm not mature enough to have an opinion on who's a talented actor?
I've been studying acting since I was six.
I feel like I've picked up a few things over the last decade or so.
If you want to claim Sarah isn't good, that's your humble opinion.
I think she's great—that's mine.
But honestly, neither of us are actual experts here.
Besides, we aren't the ones casting these movies.
If we don't like a film, we just don't watch it.
But you can't take away my conviction that she's the best. Not from me.
And as for Cruel Intention... try playing a role like that yourself.
I mean, all those awards and nominations she landed for that movie and for Buffy pretty much speak for themselves.

I guess I might have learned a thing or two over those ten years.

In my book, she's great, and that's my take.
But honestly, I don't think either of us is in any position to be the ultimate authority here.
At the end of the day, we aren't the ones casting them in movies.

Fair point.

Just a simple comparison. Take Sharon Stone playing that femme fatale in Basic Instinct. Compare that performance to SMG in Cruel Intention...

No way, that’s just not how it works.
Sharon Stone definitely had way more experience under her belt than Sarah when she filmed Basic Instinct. She was already in her 30s, whereas Sarah was only 23 during her role in Cruel Intentions. And let's be real—Sharon's work back then wasn't exactly groundbreaking either. You can't look at any actor and decide they're stuck being mediocre forever; people said the exact same thing about plenty of stars who are absolutely killing it today. As for whether you find her attractive—well, that's just subjective. I personally think a lot of people who everyone else calls gorgeous are actually quite plain. An actor grows with time—talent is built through actual work. Who knows, maybe even Emma Roberts will turn into something special. Nobody can predict the future.

Go ahead and do a little digging into when Sharon Stone actually started acting, and you'll see that SMG definitely had more experience under her belt... The fact that she constantly looks like she's 15 and only knows how to play those specific types of roles? Well, I guess that's just how it is...

I know for a fact Sharon Stone started acting when she was in her early twenties. Still, she’s racked up way more credits than Sarah has so far—it's mostly just a twenty-year head start. Anyway, what are you... a director, an actor, a producer, or a writer? If you're judging acting quality like this, you probably know a thing or two about the craft.

I mean, if you're actually capable of judging acting quality like that, you probably must be some big industry expert.

Oh, please. Tell me, who are movies actually made for? It’s definitely not for the critics; they're made for the people watching them. And guess what? I'm one of those people. And wouldn't you know it, I can tell good acting from bad. Do you really need some professional film critic to hold your hand and tell you what's actually worth watching?

Nah. You aren't the only one capable of spotting bad acting—and you aren't always right, either. People are always going to split on stuff like this—books, movies, actors, singers, songs—it doesn't matter. Opinions will always clash. For example, I didn't see anything special about Brad Pitt when every girl was screaming his name back in the day. So, I'm done arguing; nothing I say is going to change your mind, just like you aren't changing mine. To me, Sarah has been my icon since I was eight years old, and absolutely nothing is changing that.
