But then, everything changes when Megamind actually manages to "kill" him during one of his wicked schemes. Suddenly, Megamind realizes he’s totally lost his purpose because what is a villain without a hero to fight? He quickly learns that finally achieving his life's ambition might actually be the worst thing that ever happened to him! To get out of this massive funk, Megamind decides the only way forward is to manufacture a brand-new rival—a hero named Titan who’s supposed to be bigger, better, and stronger than Metro Man. Only there’s a catch: Titan soon figures out that being a bad guy is way more fun than playing the good guy! And unlike Megamind, Titan doesn't just want to rule the world; he wants to wreck it. Do you seriously think we care what format you watch movies in? Like, okay, you watch stuff in HD, big deal... you're such a legend. You don't need to flex that in every single thread, honestly, it gets pretty old really fast.

Totally agree.

That whole dubbing thing just drives me insane—like, why on earth do they even bother? I get that parents want to bring their little kids to see stuff, but some of us aren't toddlers and we actually appreciate good art, you know? 😂
All jokes aside, I really don't see the point in ruining the whole vibe like that; if someone doesn't understand the language, there are subtitles for a reason.

I actually had every intention of boycotting this movie specifically because of the dubbing—I honestly can't wrap my head around how they manage to drag politicians into absolutely every single aspect of life—but I ended up watching it anyway, and I have to say, it’s actually quite good.
Setting aside the voice acting issues, the plot itself is pretty engaging, the dialogue is absolutely hilarious, and I found all those little nods to other superheroes and the constant juggling of pop culture references to be really fun. 🙂

So, I noticed a cam version popped up on the torrent sites like five or even more days ago, and now I'm sitting here debating if I should just bite the bullet and download it since I am honestly dying to catch this animated flick.

You can find a subtitled version at the AMC Theater. And honestly, it’s not just this one—every single animated film gets a subtitled release, so I truly don't get all these complaints about the dubbing. ☕

Mozda in New York City, sure, but they don't have them in Rhode Island. I've actually skipped movies because of it. It's seriously retarded; it completely ruins the experience for me.

I suppose I should ask, why didn't you quote the rest of my message? I did mention that I was thinking about boycotting it because of the dubbing, mostly because I just can't wrap my head around how they manage to wedge politicians into every single aspect of our lives—even the damn dubbing of an animated movie!
Just as a little reminder, Ed Koch provided the voice for the mayor.
Even if those two sentences were a bit silly, I'm still not sure what the big deal is?!

I don't really have anything against dubbed films in general, mind you, but since I caught this one during a press screening, I didn't exactly have a choice. I usually prefer subtitles, though I have to admit our American dubbing is actually quite high quality.

The movie was pretty good, maybe even a bit above average.
I watched the dubbed version just to catch the 3D effects, and it was fine. I recognized almost all the actors, except for Ed Koch (actually, someone asked me what he thought of Ed Koch after the credits rolled, and I didn't even realize he was voicing a character).
The plot has plenty of twists—some really solid ones—and a ton of nods to other movies.
A few of those references got lost in the translation during dubbing, but honestly, it didn't bother me much.
The 3D was decent, but I’ll briefly mention Sammy the turtle because I think it's worth a shoutout, even if it's a bit off-topic.
The 3D in that turtle movie was easily the best I've seen in a theater so far. It actually felt better than Avatar because it felt fresh and higher quality. The depth is much closer, there are more clever 3D tricks, and for some reason, we left the theater feeling super relaxed since most of the film takes place underwater with that gentle wave motion and beautiful teal hues.
Basically, if you're a fan of 3D, you have to see Sammy the turtle. Plus, the voice cast is absolute top-tier: Kekin, Macci (that French chef—he was great), Gobac... everyone killed it.
The only thing that confused me was the whole hippie movement subplot. There are tons of environmental messages, yet the film still portrays people in such a positive light. Just a good, simple animation that adults can enjoy too.

That animation is wonderful 🙂 that blue guy is quite handsome. 😍 😂 I didn't catch it at the theater, nor in 3D, but watched it at home.

Finally found a decent DivX screener for this one, so I'm gonna upload it for everyone to grab and then I'll definitely sit down and watch it tomorrow.

The movie is quite something—it's genuinely fun and has these hilarious moments, at least regarding the non-sync parts, I suppose. As for the soundtrack, it’s an absolute standout, truly a ten out of ten. It's definitely worth your time. 10/10

Man, I just finished watching this and I’ve gotta say, I was totally caught off guard by how awesome it actually was! 👍

I had such a great time with it that I honestly didn't want it to end, and I was almost ready to hit play again immediately because it just hooked me so hard.
Honestly, if we're talking animation, this might be one of the best things I've seen in at least five years. 👍

My value/quality rating: 5/10
My rating for the animation genre: 8/10

Is it seriously possible that this few people actually sat down to watch such an incredible animated flick? 🤷

Seriously though, if anyone out there caught Megamind and just totally blanked on leaving a review, please, do me a favor and drop a comment! I’d honestly love to hear what you guys thought about it.
