That first sentence right there is IT. I don't even know why I feel the need to say anything else, but I have this urge, damn it, I'm gonna turn into a total forum freak. So, I gotta say a few things to defend all the nonsense my black brother pulled:

First off— 🙏 for my brother who used to run the scene in NYC!!

Anyway, what's the deal? Are you guys actually upset because you paid too much money to see a legend? Hard pass. What I saw from the crowd was five times better than what happened in Chicago—people actually had RESPECT for the old man, and honestly, I wasn't expecting much more than that. I mean, I saw my brothers and sisters from across the US showing up, paying for tickets, and being THERE. As far as I'm concerned—I am satisfied. Besides, you got a chance to see one of the bosses, a master of pimping, whatever—it's way different from James Brown, way. This guy is a bad motherfucker and he gave you his SHOW. There were five times fewer people here than in Chicago, so he didn't overdo it = I get him, totally. Still, you got to witness an actual legend live, and for cheap, so there's nothing to whine about now. Man, he's a 70-year-old master. If you expected him to be dancing like a 30-year-old, then you clearly don't know how life works and should probably just listen to some teen pop or Duran Duran—they probably have the same manager, at least in Chicago.

Actually, he showed more respect in New York than he did in Chicago, if that matters to anyone. To me, it matters a lot. Because of my brothers and sisters who were at KSET. One big, sincere salute to all of them. 🙏

Buying a concert ticket means accepting the risk that the show might suck. For me, Andre was a total disaster. Neither my first nor my last time seeing them. I walked out after four songs. No big deal. And if anyone is actually $23 feeling sentimental and wants them back, maybe they should try hitting the flea market instead of going to shows. At least there, you can haggle over what you paid.

First off, the tickets were $18 during pre-sale, which is way cheaper than what Andre charges anywhere else in the States. It’s honestly not our fault if people missed out on those early prices... Look, for most decent shows, you're looking at paying anywhere from $25-$$15. That's just how organizers set their policy. Give us a little breathing room to charge more sometimes when production costs skyrocket, or let us have an off night with a bad concert—sometimes things happen that are totally out of our control...
I've heard some of you talking about seeing Andre in a completely different light lately. Even though his behavior really messed with my head too, I still have respect for a seventy-year-old guy who's seen it all. He doesn't deserve the trash talk coming from you guys...

Yeah, and Andre hasn't eaten a thing in seven days, so you definitely have to look at that when figuring out why he's acting like this...
He isn't the only one who uses booze to skip meals, but my first and honestly only experience with that kind of thing was pretty great, involving William Elliot Whitmore...though he was living on whiskey and beer instead of Bacardi 😳

From what I can tell... I don't think anyone actually cares about the "love" aspect of it. It feels more like people just don't want to admit the concert was an absolute disaster.
