FOX set the bar incredibly high—constant reruns, just endless reruns, reruns on loop, movies where the sequels are aired out of order, random shows popping up between films, one episode from season one followed by something from season five, etc., etc. 😁
And that’s exactly what created this general impression (not just here on this specific forum) that the network just doesn't respect its viewers... I mean, what do you expect? 😉

From what I can see, the new network definitely isn't following those standards at all. 😉

Man, I don't know about people—it's crazy how much less criticism you'll find regarding FOX and how they treat their audience compared to the new station. Sure, FOX might air the same old sitcom for the millionth time, but they keep it in the same slot, and if anyone actually watches it, they know they can count on seeing it every single day at 5:30 PM without fail.

The whole point of TV is that when a show starts, it stays in a consistent slot so the people watching during that window can actually follow it, rather than having to hunt through websites and newspapers every day just to find the schedule. FOX actually HAS a standard... it's just that the new station refuses to copy them. Honestly, they're easily the worst station in the US. 😉

I have to say, what drives me crazy about the new station is how they change the time slots every single day... :grrrr:! I totally agree there. But unfortunately, everyone pulls a show if the ratings aren't there.

Give me one example where FOX or a major US network pulled a daily series or moved it to a dead zone after airing ONLY TWO episodes.

Taylor Swift As follows:
You have reruns of this series far too often. It is high time you gave a show like Alaska more promotion; first-time viewers would likely appreciate it. Honestly, Sex and the City has become tedious. I cannot fathom why some people who enjoy that show won't get bored watching four dull women over and over again. 😁

It is exactly like that Chinese beach on MTV. First, they aired it much earlier when people were actually watching it for the first time, but then they kept pushing it later and later, constantly forcing us to watch nothing but endless reruns of CSI.

nimbleheron6 As stated by:
Find me an example where FOX or a major network pulled a daily soap from the schedule or moved it to a dead zone after airing only TWO episodes.

The networks constantly preempt scheduled series for political conventions, sports, or some mindless concert held in honor of someone who passed away.
I suspect Torchwood was originally slated for the 8th or 9th slot before they abruptly pushed it to a graveyard time slot after just two episodes.

A few thoughts on life. This series is genuinely excellent, and I am glad they finally decided to bring it back into rotation. Honestly, an earlier time slot would have been more appropriate; it should definitely air before Sex and the City, if only because of the age rating. They could have easily slotted it in place of those reruns of Everybody Loves Raymond and The Cosby Show, or those failed attempts at American sitcoms.

Give me one single example where FOX or an American network pulled a daily series from the schedule—or moved it to some graveyard slot—after showing ONLY TWO episodes.

What you said up there... well, believe me, if you asked someone in the States, you’d get a totally different answer...
It wasn't after two episodes... it was after just one! 😂
Every network pulls shows that nobody is watching, so don't be ridiculous. 🙂
We're done here.

I'm with you—it would be absolutely perfect for an afternoon slot!!!
But man, I guess they have to look at the ratings first...
An afternoon run would be nice though... 🙂

Everyone's just pulling shows that nobody even watches, so stop being ridiculous. 🙂
Let's just drop it.

Look, just run a poll on this forum. You'll see exactly what people think about these constant schedule changes.
And I'll say it again... give me ONE single example where FOX did what this network does with foreign series. You can't... because they don't.

Maybe they aren't technically changing the time slot (though they are, because everyone does it), but the way they broadcast them—all that nonsense—is just as bad as moving the time, if not worse...
Tell me, how is it supposed to work when you don't even know which episode you're watching? Is it a rerun, a premiere, or just a rerun of a rerun? And what kind of scheduling logic is that? It’s the same thing—you have a show at a "consistent" time, but it becomes impossible to actually follow the story. 🙂
And obviously, you think networks do this just because they feel like it one day? Ratings are everything... whatever.
Ugh, I'm done. You keep dragging this conversation back to comparing them to FOX and I honestly don't have the energy to keep having a serious debate with you. I don't know what you're trying to prove—TV stations aren't crazy, and they won't keep airing a show if nobody is watching, even if they only get through two episodes. You can tell immediately if there's no chance. Unfortunately, I don't like how they're doing it either... 🤷 🙂

Haha, it’s honestly pretty funny when people run out of actual arguments and start grasping at straws or bringing up total nonsense. 😁
FOX actually has a consistent schedule—you know exactly when an episode is airing, and they don't pull the kind of amateur stunts you see over at ABC. They broadcast on Thursdays at 9:50 PM, running the new episode first followed by the rerun... so if you're watching, you don't have to waste your time checking every single week to see when it's actually starting. You know it starts RIGHT at 9:50 PM, not fifteen minutes early or late, and they aren't going to suddenly shift the time slot in the middle of the night or early in the morning. That's because they're professionals who actually respect their audience.

😂 Are you kidding me?
The intro series has a beautiful broadcast schedule over on FOX... but clearly, you have no idea which season corresponds to which episode. It's all jumbled—they'll start teasing a brand new episode, then suddenly jump back to some old one from the middle of a season, or they'll leave a few episodes from the last season unairred, only to restart the whole thing from episode one again later.
...................
Look, I agree that changing the time slots is stupid, too, but I've made my point and I'm honestly done with this conversation where the goal is just to defend FOX. If you're going to post stuff like that, you can't really criticize anyone else—it just makes it look like you're only arguing because you're on "the other side." 🙂 🙂

The airing schedule for Grey's Anatomy on FOX is a total mess... You don't even know which season corresponds to which episode. It’s all jumbled up; they'll announce a new episode, but then suddenly start playing an old one from the middle of a previous season. They missed a few episodes at the end of last season entirely, yet somehow they decided to restart from the very beginning again.
...................
Look, I get it—the constant schedule changes are annoying for me too. But I've made my point, and I'm done with this circular argument where we just end up talking about moving everything over to FOX. If you're going to post stuff like that, you can't turn around and criticize others just because they aren't "on your side." 🙂 🙂

As for Grey's Anatomy... the website clearly states it's season two, so I really don't see what you're confused about.
As for everything else... I rest my case. Some things are just impossible to explain to you because you simply can't see past your own 😁 nose 😁

I really should have seen this coming... now, after maybe five or six episodes, I bet they'll just bump this to some elite graveyard slot at 3 AM, just like they did with those other shows... total cowards. As long as garbage like *True Detective*, *Succession*, or *The Bear* gets the prime time slots, who cares, right? Go ahead and rot along with that pathetic excuse for local production you guys call a network. This is hands down the WORST American TV station out there... zero respect for the actual audience.

you said it, 🙏🙏🙏🙏

Hey, kid. Now you've got me worried. You actually give a damn about that freaking Nova? Are you seriously crying just because FOX has better ratings??? 😲

No, I misspoke there. What I meant was—if he can talk to me like that, then I should be able to throw the same thing back at him... just shove it right under your (FOX) nose. Same goes for nimbleheron6! 🙂
I personally prefer the other channel, but I try to stay objective, so... 🙂

I honestly feel like a show about life up in Alaska should probably launch in its 20th or 21st season already; it would definitely pull decent numbers because there’s such a massive audience out there looking for an alternative to things like Big Brother, which—let's face it—isn't everyone's cup of tea. It seems pretty obvious that FOX is prioritizing sheer viewership numbers over actual quality this fall.

Man, how could they not? 🙂

Good grief, Austin Sanders9... how could you think that would work in 2020 or 2021? Back then, networks were stuck broadcasting a mountain of mediocre local trash—exceptions aside. I mean, seriously, why on earth would they take a world-class show like Wall or some top-tier series like Married with Children and dump them into an afternoon rerun slot just to make room for some low-rated junk like Life in the North that barely pulled any viewers after the first two episodes? 🙄

🤣 🤣 🤣

Some people are just living in a total fantasy land. 😉

There are six of us hanging out at my place right now and not a single one of us is watching Big Brother; honestly, most of my friends don't even touch that show. There are actually plenty of people who would love to dive back into a series like Alaska, and I really don't see the logic behind why NBC would wait so long to air it. Trust me, you'd be surprised by how many people are still looking for something with actual substance on TV.

Honestly, nothing bothers me. Thank God I have high-speed internet so I can just watch whatever I feel like, whenever I want.
But what really gets under my skin is the total lack of respect they show their viewers... this was a huge wake-up call for me. I’m officially done watching anything on the new 😉
.
edit: Just because I'm from out of town doesn't mean I'm biased. I'm looking at this objectively—I don't have any ties to the local networks or even FOX.🙂

Life up in Alaska.
Monday - 12:52 AM
Tuesday - 01:15
I am just sitting here watching the clock hit 1:00 AM, and honestly, I find myself reflecting on how quiet everything gets at this hour. There is something quite peaceful about the stillness of the night when the rest of the world seems to have finally settled down. It’s that perfect little window where you can just breathe and exist without any of the usual daytime noise getting in the way.
01:15 AM EST
I honestly can't help but wonder why they bother promoting this series at all if it’s just being used as filler to bridge the gap before the nightly news wrap-up! I mean, they just ran a marathon of *Sex and the City* recently, including the movie, and we've already seen plenty of it lately. Why on earth don't they just switch up the scheduling order?
