Do it. You won't regret it. 😉

Man, I’d love for this series to come back... especially now that the weather's finally turning cold. 😁

Honestly, I could really go for something like this given how the weather is turning... but only if they actually scheduled it at a decent hour. You know, like 11 PM or even midnight? Instead of making us wait until 2 in the morning like some kind of joke.

Does anyone remember which episode that was? The one where the Native American guy Ed is apprenticing under to learn shamanism listens to some white people telling stories? He's sitting there waiting for some deep lesson or ancient wisdom tucked away in their oral traditions. But instead, all they talk about is "this happened to him" or "he saw that," just random stuff with zero actual insight. It’s totally pointless to him. I need it for a story I'm working on... 🙂

It would most likely be the seventh episode of the fifth season, titled "Rosebud".

Does anyone happen to know if this episode features the original soundtrack or if we're looking at the American version

A truly brilliant series with characters that are just masterfully developed—it would be wonderful if they decided to bring

back for a rerun, especially right now during this fall/winter season.

Honestly, this is the only show that actually convinced me we need mandatory TV viewing added to the school curriculum.
Mad respect to the writer, the director, and the entire cast.

I bow down to the writer, the director, and the entire cast.

The show is brilliant. Out of 110 episodes, I’d give about 40 or 50 a solid A, maybe a B+. Only about 10 to 20 fall into the C range. The rest are just mediocre.

The problem is that strange cocktail of wisdom, fantasy (heavy Esalen vibes, plus plenty of Campbell influence—the patron saint of this series), and satire. It’s too niche to grab a massive mainstream audience.

And those final episodes? Total anticlimax. But overall, it serves as a necessary antidote to the mindless masses, the shallow hedonists, and the functionally illiterate.

Caught the series finale yesterday. Just so you know, I’ve got the full collection with all the subtitles, so if anyone is hunting for a specific episode, just give me a shout.

I could go on forever about this show, but honestly, what really floored me was how they used the soundtrack to hit those emotional beats. The way the scenes blend with the music is just masterclass stuff:

That "Moon River" moment during the "Aurora Borealis" sequence.
And then there’s "Hey Joe" in that one episode—you know the one—where Chris decides he needs to stop playing all these depressing tracks because some girl took her own life, claiming his playlist was the reason she did it in her suicide note. Heavy stuff.

My absolute favorite show EVER! 😁
I have a specific question: in season 3, episode 5, why does Fleischman find it so funny at the very end when he hears that the two guys who found him unconscious are from Topeka, Kansas? Does anyone know the reason?

Remember that show..? A lot of the younger crowd today probably hasn't even heard of it, but if you grew up watching TV in the nineties, you know exactly what I’m talking about.
That series was an absolute masterpiece—it was pure escapism, like a cozy slice of Life in the North that just hit different.
Honestly, if I tried to explain why they don't run reruns anymore, it might be better to just leave it alone... I mean, who actually wants to go out looking for Life in the North anyway?
