I’ve got tons of family out in Chicago. Two aunts and an uncle. But of course, they always head straight to the US for the summer instead. 🙄

wanna chat? I know nobody cares, obviously, but whatever... there was a concert, it’s only fair...

the venue was actually perfect for a show—just a parking lot out in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by semi-trucks, and you get a view of the skyline while watching the band from the smaller stage. a pretty decent Chicago skyline, 😍

the MC, though—that needs to be mentioned. I can't find anything on YouTube where he actually says anything, which is a damn shame. He spent maybe 15 minutes announcing how Mt. Etna erupted and how the band rose from the ashes and all that. God, I guess ash could probably birth a better band than this if you ask me.
before every band, of course, we had to hear about how Corey Taylor is basically a god. Jesus, Corey Taylor. He was even on the front page of the news. Meanwhile, not a single word about Suri Cruise. What kind of country is this? 🙄

Friday was okay: Shipping News—pretty decent start. Nice weather and everything. Not bad. "Actually, we're on Quarterstick." 🙂

Supersystem was actually really good—hadn't heard them before, but they were nice enough to move your hips a bit. After that... well, things went downhill, I guess.

GVSB played through Venus Luxure the whole time, which was cool, felt a bit like a greatest hits set. They were great. Scott seems to be acting a bit more arrogant toward us here, I think. 😎

Ted Leo is a good friend of mine, just pure joy and happiness. Ted, you're a legend. 👍

!!! however, they totally killed it. They played long, aggressive, the crowd went wild—total surprise. Those guys are killers. Maybe even the best show at the festival. Hats off, it's only right. 🙏
