and honestly 😕
they were still shoving Essenciale forte capsules down our throats while we were stuck in the hospital, and even long after we got discharged.
...so I'll never forget that specific, gross smell in the sweat and urine it caused, or that tag line the most popular hepatoprotective drug 😁

Whey protein, yeah...
I guess getting plenty of rest is basically just a natural way to detox your liver...

The reason I made this post is because I used to have a "recipe" (I lost it! 🙄 ) for a natural blend you drink on an empty stomach in the morning before fasting for the day. It works wonders as a detox elixir for your liver and overall metabolism.
Anyway, if you remember it (or find it)... let me know! 🙂
Just saw this.
...that should be dandelion root tea
(if my memory serves me right)
😕 😬

Maybe look into some blood-purifying teas.
A detox like that could run for about a month—like, three times a day plus some nettle drops.
I'm pretty sure it cleanses your blood, liver... even the kidneys too.😁

So, how do we even figure out if my liver is actually messed up!?
What kind of tests are we talking about here?!
I’m totally clueless when it comes to all this medical stuff... had to ask!

What kind of checkup shows you that?!

Usually, they just run some liver function tests whenever you get blood work done.

ahaaa, totally.
Like I haven't tried that a million times already...!
So far, so good, I guess.
I think there are like three specific metrics we look at, but honestly, I can't remember which ones right now... though whatever, it doesn't even matter!

So, I was just scrolling through some health blog on WebMD the other day, and they had this whole piece about dandelion root tea. Apparently, you’re supposed to brew it fresh every single time—don't even think about using those dusty old tea bags sitting in the back of your pantry. It says you should do this little two-week stint, maybe three or four times a year, and make sure you drink it right before you eat.

te@ said:You’re talking nonsense. One of those "artichoke" capsules is basically worth like a whole pound of actual artichokes, so just think about that.
Look, I'm not even a huge fan of artichokes myself, so honestly, popping the capsules was way more convenient for me.
So, did those capsules actually do anything for you?? At the end of the day, I don't care if they're fresh or in a pill—I just want to know if they work the same way!!! Besides, if I remember right, artichokes taste pretty terrible anyway...

I’ve been using those Hepeel n homeopathic tablets from Heel, along with some Hepatodoron by Weleda, lately. I usually just chew them about three times a day right before I sit down for a meal. I guess they just seem to help my liver out a bit more easily when it comes to flushing all those toxins out of my system.

Pallas said:Look, there’s no actual data on that, but let’s see what kind of nonsense people cook up in the comments.
🤣
God, Pallas... seriously? Just suggest eating a spoonful of butter straight from the tub... watch those AST and ALT levels drop instantly. And don't even get me started on gamma-GT, even for the heavy drinkers out there.🙏
Man, look at all the "medical experts" hanging out on this forum...🙄

Dr. Bieler's broth (allegedly) strengthens and cleanses the liver.

Dr. Bieler's Health Broth
Adapted from "Food is your best medicine" (see below)
Wonderful for a fall or winter detox: 3 stalks of celery, 3 whole zucchinis, 2 cups of string beans, 1 cup of parsley; Dr. Bieler's famous health broth recipe for energy
3 stalks of celery
3 whole zucchinis
2 cups of string beans
1 cup of parsley
Dr. Bieler's famous health broth recipe for energy, weight loss, and cleansing
put 1 cup of water into a stock pot. Throw the string beans in first and steam them for about 5 minutes. Next, toss in the celery and zucchini. Steam those for another 5 to 7 minutes—you want them tender, but they should still have some bite. Don't overcook them. Once they're ready, pour that vegetable cooking water directly into the blender. Add the veggies. Blend everything until it's liquid. Stir in a teaspoon of raw unsalted butter and a big handful of parsley. Blend one more time until the parsley is completely smooth.
*Optional: throw in 1 clove of garlic.
*Try to use organic vegetables if you can find them! Enjoy!

Sorry, I have to start a new thread here... I don't see a dedicated discussion about diuretics. Because of some ongoing liver and kidney issues, I’ve been prescribed diuretics. I managed to flush out 12 pounds of water weight—god knows how many liters that actually is—but now everything is just constant, maddening itching. It’s especially intense in the areas where the edema used to be, like my legs and ankles. Is this actually normal?
