Plus, there's no way it'll be cheaper picking it up at a newsstand for $17. Maybe eventually Car and Driver will hike their prices from 28 to $10
.

As things stand right now regarding subscriptions, both magazines are going to be priced at $9.25 for subscribers. That means if you're just grabbing one off the shelf, you’re looking at roughly 33 to $12, maybe topping out at $13
.

Wait a second, what on earth would we even need to buy both of them for $12?

if they even bother putting anything out at all, considering how much of a total train wreck things have already become 😢

You actually could’ve caught this scoop in the last issue of Autoweek back in 2008—but hey, let me just lay it all out right here to be crystal clear.

AUTOWEEK AND CAR AND DRIVER ARE JOINING FORCES!!!

To all our readers and die-hard Formula 1 fans out there...

The American edition of the world’s top Grand Prix magazine is turning a massive new page starting with the 2009 season. We’ve decided to team up with our sister publication, Car and Driver, to create a one-stop shop for anyone obsessed with cars and racing culture. Once we get back from the winter break, the next issue of Autoweek hits newsstands on March 15th, bundled together with Car and Driver. For the price of just one, you’re getting both magazines—that’s about two hundred pages of pure gold for anyone who lives and breathes driving, or even just watching it...

For everything else, including extra deep dives and cool features, you can check out our website over the winter and beyond at www.f1racing.com. If you were previously subscribed to just Autoweek or just Car and Driver, you’ll get the second magazine totally free. And for those of you already subbed to both, we’re extending your subscription to cover the price difference...

It’s basically a New Year’s gift that keeps on giving. Two magazines for the price of one!

Autoweek and Car and Driver hit stands on March 15, 2009. The planned price is $9.25, which means it's the exact same as what Car and Driver costs on its own!

The American edition of the world’s premier Grand Prix publication is turning a new page starting with the 2009 season. We’ve decided to team up with our sister publication, Car and Driver, to create a one-stop shop for everything car enthusiasts and racing fanatics crave. Starting with the first issue after the winter break, look for Autoweek hitting newsstands on March 15th next year, bundled together with Car and Driver. For the price of just one, you’ll get both magazines—that's roughly two hundred pages of essential reading for anyone who considers driving, or even just watching a race, to be a genuine passion.

If you currently subscribe to just Autoweek or just Car and Driver, you'll receive the second magazine at no extra charge; for those already subscribed to both, your subscription will be extended by a period equivalent to the price difference.

I’m struggling to see the math on this one; did they just find some really slick marketing gurus to sell us this dream? ☕

So, I guess I’ll be footing a larger bill now just because I happen to read Autoweek.

Or maybe the covers are just eating up the entire printing budget.😁

It’s definitely the covers and those glossy posters they include ☕

They completely missed the mark by choosing a group portrait of all the current drivers instead of featuring Ayrton Senna—as stormyviper11 pointed out so perfectly in the editorial, they won't be getting any forgiveness from the readers for that move. 😉

Is anyone else seeing delays with Autoweek over here?
According to the Car and Driver site, the issue was supposed to drop on January 15th, 2009, right alongside Autoweek—but it’s been two days now and there's still absolutely nothing to show for it...

So, my subscription is about to expire with the next issue—does that mean I’ll have to go through the whole process of signing up all over again manually, or will they just offer me an option to renew it?

I’ve been scrolling through some of the comments lately—honestly, seeing all that negativity aimed at F1Racing's own columnists, that unnamed US executive and that unnamed US person, has me feeling pretty bummed out. I just can't wrap my head around how people are finding so many flaws in them. Look, we're all human—people make mistakes, and let's be real, we all have our favorite drivers over others (we can all agree on that, right?)—but is it really a crime to have a preference? Personally, I just love this sport, and honestly, they can write whatever they want; as long as they're covering my beloved Formula 1, I'm happy. When I see the way you guys are tearing them apart, it feels like maybe you don't actually love racing or Formula 1 that much... it probably just means you aren't super deep into the technical side of things, and in my opinion, it's not really fair to bash articles that you don't fully grasp.

We really ought to see a new issue hit the stands soon. We’re getting so close to the start of the season, too! 😁 🙂 🙂
