John Thomas2 said:I saw it on the FOX news broadcast—they were basically threatening him with an arrest if he pulled any stunts that might offend religious groups...🙄 🙄 🙄

Honestly, that’s exactly why I figured he’d pull some massive shit just to be spiteful.
And screw those bastards. That's just how they operate whenever there's a bit of public interest involved.

StetoCina said:@coastalorca3/">@@coastalorca3 - I remember when Metallica played in Chicago years ago... it was such a massive, drawn-out show, but honestly, in my book, one of the best ever just because of the sheer energy in the room.

👍 Seriously, one hell of a show. 👍

Back in 1999e (and I'm not exaggerating by saying 1999 times, I swear)

StetoCina said:In terms of shock value, I don't know how he acts at other shows, but here? He felt... hmm, maybe a little less provocative than Let3.

Well, okay, maybe less provocative than Thompson, but even then, he was being pretty tame. 🙂

John Thomas2 said:I mean, FOX News reported that the police were basically threatening to arrest him if he pulls any stunts that offend religious folks...🙄 🙄 🙄

So what's the actual issue here? If someone starts doing provocative stuff with a cross, obviously they're going to offend people.🙄 🙄 🙄

It's always the same thing. No matter what anyone does on this planet, there's always someone whose feelings get hurt...🙄 - so what, should we throw them in jail for it? 😕 I mean, even de Sade got arrested for being indecent with a cross, but what was that, decades ago? 🙄

Angela Booth said:The show wrapped up early because—from what I heard from the crew working the venue—Manson ran out of breath. They actually had to hook him up to oxygen. He didn't even walk out of the rock concert arena on his own; four elderly women had to practically carry him out since he couldn't even stand up...

Some guys from Germany who seem to be following the tour told us before the show started that it would only last about an hour and fifteen minutes.🤔

I can't say for sure, but a friend of mine who worked at the venue actually witnessed them hooking Manson up to oxygen and wheeling him out...

Perhaps the man simply enjoys the sensation of suffocating as a hobby? 😁

I honestly can't believe how many of you out there are obsessed with that shock-rock makeup look. It’s wild, I guess. Just seems like everyone wants to go full goth or whatever lately. Maybe it's just me, though. 😛

But whose sensibilities are we even talking about? The people who actually bought tickets to see the show aren't bothered by it, are they?

And those who might feel offended aren't at the concert anyway; they're probably off somewhere else praying...

The only ones who might take issue are the police, but even among them, isn't it possible there are "Satanists," atheists, or Muslims who simply don't care about the symbol of the cross?
And even if he said something particularly edgy, the cops speak English, right?

As for those who might feel offended—well, they aren't at the show; they’re just hovering around outside...

The only ones who might care are the police, though I suppose even among them, you might find some "Satanists," atheists, or maybe even Muslims who don't particularly care about the Christian cross...
And if he said something edgy—well, the cops speak English, right? Yeah, right...

The issue isn't just about offending individuals; it's about the perceived insult to the cross itself, and by extension, the faith that symbol represents. Similar laws exist regarding the desecration of national symbols (in the US, for instance...).
The real question is whether such laws end up stripping people of their right to criticize the very institutions those symbols represent.

Marilyn, you messenger of the devil,
To the devil with you and your music!
Is it really because of this stuff that our precious kids
Forget the gentleness of their priests?

Don't roast our youth in your hell,
Marilyn, messenger of the devil!
The Church knows the right way to reach children:
A priest approaches them with such tenderness, from all sides!

And those people who might actually feel insulted? They aren't even at the concert—they're just moping around somewhere else...

The only thing that might actually bother the local police is whether there are any "Satanists" or non-believers among them—maybe even some Muslims who just don't care much about the Christian cross.
And even if he said something juicy—like, total filth—you know he’s speaking English, right?

By that logic, I guess the KKK is perfectly fine too—since they don't exactly have any Black people showing up at their rallies.👎

Does it really offend my feelings if fifty of them gather in a room just to express hatred toward Black people? Is that what freedom of speech is all about now?

I suppose if they just held meetings without resorting to violence or discrimination against Black Americans, they would technically just be harmless gatherings of like-minded people.

As for Marilyn Manson, he once mentioned that people who are afraid of his concerts should probably examine the strength of their own faith.

It’s not that I think he can actually ruin someone’s faith—it’s more about where I draw the line regarding Satanism. Honestly, I have zero respect for anyone trying to lean into that lifestyle, and I feel like they should be kept away from mainstream media altogether. For me, freedom of speech hits a wall when it comes to Satanism. Period. It would have been better if he just stuck to criticizing the Church instead of playing into the whole Satanic aesthetic.

casualpuma71 said:I really hope they tour again, but honestly, if it's in Washington, D.C.... hardly anyone shows up because that arena is total garbage and the acoustics are just terrible. It’s not a real rock concert arena; maybe it works for the opera or something... and Pula totally sucks...

Look, both bands had incredible sound quality. It's not the venue's fault if you're listening to absolute trash.😬

Honestly, I have such a deep disdain for anyone who tries to lean into that whole Satanic vibe, and I feel like they shouldn't even be allowed near mainstream media. In my book, freedom of speech ends where Satanism begins. Period. I really wish he would just stop talking down on the Church so he wouldn't have to play into the Satanist thing.

Come on now, don't be like that. You should try to love your enemies instead...🙂

Honestly, I despise everyone who tries to act all edgy with that whole Satanic aesthetic, and I think people like that should be barred from mainstream media entirely. For me, freedom of speech ends right where Satanism begins. Period. He really ought to change his tune and stop talking down on the Church if he wants to keep playing that Satanist persona.

But look, the whole foundation of Satanism isn't actually about hating the church—it's about individual human freedom.

Worshipping the devil has nothing to do with human freedom👎
