Hmm... overall, it was pretty good. A bit repetitive, though—they played almost the exact same set tonight as they did nine months ago at Madison Square Garden. Look, I’m not exactly being a picky critic here, but still. Anyway... my energy levels are staying high as usual, and even at nearly 48, there’s zero sign of a beer belly creeping in. All in all...😍 😍 😍

Man, Ship Song gets me every single time—I'm out here tearing up whether I'm solo or with friends (if I'm with people, I just point at whoever's getting emotional), it’s just one of those things when you're feeling down... 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂

Whenever I hear "We make a little history baby"... I mean, I don't really get why it's plural? Like, isn't it just me making a little history every time I show up?

Was just wondering if anyone would actually pick her as their favorite... definitely an unusual choice.

Hmm... a bit too much filler. It’s getting repetitive—they played almost the exact same set tonight as they did at Madison Square Garden nine months ago. Look, I'm not exactly looking for perfection here either, but still. Whatever. My temper is the same as always, and even at nearly 48, there's zero sign of a beer belly appearing. All things considered...

Yeah, man, that graniteharbor28 guy is totally bald. 😍 It’s wild how skinny he is, yet he’s still got that manic energy. There's some new groove going on—I caught it during Stagger Lee—it’s just... different. A little unhinged.
Daniel Booth88, if you can remember the setlist, maybe drop it here. At Coachella, it went something like this (not that they were in order, except for the first two):

Brace yourselves. Love's coming.
Red Right Hand.
Just tucking everything out of sight.
just nature boy.
tupelo
Out of breath. Like running a marathon through a swamp in mid-July.
weeping song
supernaturally
deanna
Ship Song
Slide into my dreams.
Mercy Seat
And just like that, there goes my beautiful world.
Messiah Ward.
Oh, kids.
Stagger Lee.

Daniel Booth88, if you can remember the setlist roughly, could you drop it here? At Coachella, it went something like this (not in order, except for the first two):

get ready for love
red right hand
hiding all away
nature boy
tupelo
breathless
weeping song
supernaturally
deanna
Ship Song
come into my sleep
Mercy Seat
there she goes, my beautiful world
messiah ward
o children
stagger lee

It's nearly identical. Yeah, he opened with Get Ready for Love. The only difference at Madison Square Garden was that he didn't play Nature Boy—he did The Lyre of Orpheus instead (as an encore). And he played Darker with the Day, which isn't on your list. Man, I really wanted some variety—like, wouldn't it have been killer if he blasted Fable of the Brown Ape? Anyway, he closed out with Stagger Lee.

But hey, I'm not going to hold it against him. 😍

Why is it unusual? Musically, it just works for me. I find Idiot Prayer just as good, it just didn't cross my mind at that exact moment.

Aren't you tired of this yet?

Me? I'm putting on some good old Mark instead...

...Tell your ma that youre gone to the freakshow
I'm crawling all over the carnival
Just scratchin a stitch in a skin
Im moanin for more of the medicine
In the mornin youre wonderin where ya been
Just turnin your back to the ghost
And tryin to look like you just might know
That all of the good that youve seen
Just went down and into the drain...

...just sitting here waiting on that genius Pygmalion and his little Nettlica trash heap to chime in with their "expert" takes on Nick Cave's songwriting. Honestly, I'm just waiting for Pygmalion to draft up some formal protest letter to Cave, demanding he stop taking photos of him altogether.

In any case, the concept is quite lovely—taking the beaver over to Woven Hand... 👍>

...after which it would be absolutely wonderful if you two woke up on a train bound for Damascus.

I guess pride works the same way too 🙂 🙂
