Nah, I doubt it.

I mean, an expert is just gonna head wherever the paycheck is bigger.

There wouldn't even be a strike or anything, they'd just quietly pack up and leave.

Not all medical specialties are playing on a level playing field when it comes to job mobility, which I guess is why we're seeing this strike happening right now.

For instance, folks specializing in things like anesthesiology, surgery, or oncology don't really have much luck finding decent work outside of a hospital setting, so they’re striking to push for better terms and conditions.

On the other hand, you've got dermatologists, OB-GYNs, physiatrists, and rheumatologists who can pretty easily pivot into higher-paying roles at private clinics.

In the end, I suppose a good chunk of those first specialists will probably end up taking a high-paying gig overseas—though that's never an easy call to make—and their old spots will likely just be filled by people with a bit less expertise.
