Well, yeah! They swapped it in today right where the afternoon shows usually are! It starts in like half an hour! 😁 😁

The second season of the Circus is slated for a fall release. To me, this show constantly brings to mind my absolute favorite series of all time, Twin Peaks, mostly because the whole vibe in the Circus feels just a little bit "trippy."

That comes after the spy stuff. 😁

The series is quite peculiar; steeped in mysticism, surrealismβ€”and mud. Everyone there seems perpetually filthy and covered in dust. 😁

I find it quite compelling, actually. I haven't missed a single episode thus far. πŸ™‚

The series just didn't quite click for me, though that doesn't necessarily mean it was bad...

There is actually a thread where we went all out discussing the show Carnivale. I personally found it quite compelling and engaging. Apparently, they pulled the plug right after the second season ended, which was truly a shame.

Ah, I see now. My apologies. πŸ™‚

Regarding the series itself, I find the naturalism used to portray the characters and the whole Circus lifestyle quite striking. It provides such an unusual, dreamlike atmosphere as a contrast.

I wasn't aware it had been pulled from the air. A real pity.

I’ll admit, I was a bit skeptical at first, though I have to say, the opening credits were quite captivating 😁 but I found myself falling for it all too quickly 😁 😁 😁 I am practically counting the days until the next installment!

I also fell for it because of that intro; it really is a stroke of genius. πŸ‘

They actually pulled the plug on the series right after the second season because the writers basically claimed they had already said everything they ever wanted to say!

It isn't just the opening theme, eitherβ€”the entire soundtrack is honestly fantastic. I'd love to find a way to track it down somewhere. πŸ™‚

Honestly, this show is fantastic. I initially started watching out of pure boredom and didn't feel much of anything, but now it has truly gotten under my skin. I am hardly able to wait to see how things unfold... πŸ‘‹

Season two of my absolute favorite show, Circus, kicks off this Saturday at 12:45 AM on PBS.
I’m really hoping they run a rerun later in the day, because that time slot is honestly terrible...😒

I'm hoping it's just a rerun because that time slot is absolutely terrible. 😒

ONE IN THE MORNING?!

...

I was actually about to write something incredibly angry, but then I remembered that I never go anywhere on Saturdays anyway, so I might as well watch the show even if it is late. It's not like I have to wake up early on Sunday for Mass or anything. 😬

It’s 11:3 PM, and honestly, we really ought to settle on this specific time slot... but then again, why does everything always have to happen on a Saturday night?😒

If I had any foresight, I would’ve just watched the premiere and then headed out on the road... but instead, I stayed in town after the game to hang with the guys, and now I’m stuck wondering how I could possibly ditch the crew just to go home and watch TV.
Maybe I'll try to download the episode while hanging out by the Mississippi, though I suppose NBC will probably just run reruns of the whole thing this summer anyway.😁
So, how was that Season 2 premiere? Who actually made it out alive, who's back from the dead, and who's gone for good?

Season twoβ€”which happens to be the final seasonβ€”is a massive step up from the first.
Finally, everything starts making sense after the show spiraled into complete madness.
The core conflict is finally clear: it’s a showdown between the "Champion of light" (Hawkins) and the "Champion of darkness" (Crowe). It turns out their fathers (Scudder and Management) were the previous champions, just on opposite sides of the struggle.
Now, the stakes are set. Hawkins has to take down Management despite their history, while Crow needs to eliminate Scudder to unlock his full potential. Eventually, they'll have to face off to the death.
Even those weird visions where Hawkins dreams of his father being hunted by a Russ soldier during WW2 finally click. That Russ figure is actually "Management," acting as the Champion of light trying to take down Scudder, the Champion of darkness...

Personally, I don't think there's anything supernatural about this show. The plot just drags on forever, and honestly, it feels like HBO made it using the same formula as their other series (like Oz or Six Feet Under... the beginning is fine, but then it's just YUCK). It starts off great, but then it goes nowhere... the show is just packed with cheap sexual provocations... but what's the point of that in a supernatural series? Sure, they cover more themes... but still... hardly anything actually happens. If only it had a better pacing... as it is, it's just nothing... I watched the first episode of season two and maybe the third...

brisksailor3 said:If I had known, I was planning to watch the first episode and then head out of town, but damn, after the game I ended up staying in the city with my friends, and how could I leave the crew just to go home and watch TV?
Maybe I'll download that episode from the Mississippi, besides, NBC will probably rerun all of this in the summer😁
What was the first episode of season two like? Who stayed alive, who came back to life, and who died?

So, yeah. Sophia's mom died, but they managed to save Sophia. Sophia doesn't want to eat anymore... Ben strangled Lotzo, and Management ordered Samson to hide the body or something... Lila wants to know where Lotzo is. Samson is playing along (though it's pretty unconvincing), saying he wandered off and that he'll look for him, but they haven't found him yet... Lila is worried... Management doesn't want Ben visiting her anymore because it "tempts" her, so they told Samson to send all messages through him... so... later it turns out Lotzo is actually alive? Or? The last episode of season one was actually pretty good... hm...

Alright, folks, I am begging for some assistance here. I have absolutely no idea how I let this happen, but I woke up this morning to find a warning light flashing in my brain: yesterday was SATURDAY!!! Anywayβ€”I clearly wasn't paying attention. And since I’m a total junkie when it comes to this show, if anyone actually caught it, could you please give me the rundown?
can someone please brief me, PLEEEEEASEEE!!! I'm looking for Season 2, Episode 3β€”I think.

p.s. rapidbison42, seriously, could you maybe refrain from posting spoilers? Though, I suppose everything is starting to make a little more sense now. πŸ™‚

The series is far too intenseπŸ™ πŸ™
I skimmed through the first season, but the second one absolutely kicks ass...
The show's time slot is a total disaster, though that's usually the case with the good ones.
Sadly, we're nearing the end...πŸ™‚

This term is so incredibly stupid it’s almost impressive; I’ve barely managed to sit through three episodes this season.
I guess I’ll just have to wait for a rerun😒

Perhaps a foolish question, but why does Brother Justin have blue blood? If my eyes didn't deceive me... I know he's nothing but evil😈 and all that, but still..πŸ€”
Otherwise, an excellent episode..
