You’ve got the right route. The lab is open from 7 to 9, if I recall correctly, but honestly, if there's a private lab nearby and the test is straightforward, just go there. The Siget Community Health Center is a total circus.

That's right, the employer handles the cost.

It covers everything from the physical exam—which is usually just a quick little checkup—to the actual certification paperwork.

And for the record, the employer definitely pays. If you're working through a student program, the boss is on the hook for it—it's literally in the contract.

All I know of is Dr. Cavka over by Maxim, but surely he isn't the only private specialist practicing in Chicago?

Honestly, you can get that done pretty much anywhere they have an X-ray machine, so it feels like such a waste to shell out your own cash at some private clinic right next to a hospital.

I don't want to get flagged for advertising, so I'll do exactly what I did a little while ago. Just open AT&T, hit the phone directory, type in "private radiology, Chicago," and you'll instantly have four different addresses and phone numbers right in front of you!

I really can't get behind this idea that it isn't worth spending the money.
Personally, I don't see the point in waiting weeks just to snag an appointment, only to end up stuck in crowded waiting rooms and wasting hours just to get an image.
It’s not like this is something I’m doing every single week, and a scan like that shouldn't cost more than 200-$100.
With a private clinic, you just call, show up, and you're seen immediately; you get your results right then or shortly after, you pay, and everything is handled smoothly.
I mean, I'm not about to start cutting corners when it comes to my own health, am I?
