I'm trying to figure out how to actually see a psychologist or psychiatrist because this insomnia and these headaches have been killing me for years. I saw a neurologist and they scheduled me for an MRI in like a month or two, but honestly, I feel like it’s all mental. Also, can you go through insurance with a referral, or is it out of pocket? Because money is tight—I'm a student and I've got ten days to scrape together $1667 for tuition after bombing an exam and now needing one more credit just to qualify for the student rate...
Thanks 😉

Just hit up your primary care doctor, ask for a referral, and you're set.

question
got a neurology appointment coming up, anything I should watch out for? Any specific rules or prep I need to know about?

I have a question.
So, I have an appointment for a neurological exam coming up—any advice on what I should watch out for? Are there any specific protocols or rules I need to follow beforehand?

Ah, I see... well, thank you! 🙂

Honestly, I’d say let’s hold off on that... unless you could perhaps bring along some documentation—maybe a medical history or something similar that ties all of this together? If you have that on hand, then we can call it a day and be done with it.😁

Maybe consider wearing flat shoes when you come in for the motor skills tests. 🙂

How long does an A2 medical certificate actually stay valid after it's been issued?
I mean, I got mine back in June, but my appointment isn't until this month... I guess I'm just wondering if it'll still be good news by then.

Is there a registry somewhere for doctors currently accepting new patients?

Specifically, I got mine back in June, but my appointment isn't until this month.

If you schedule your appointment—whether in person, via fax, or by email—within 30 days of the referral being issued, it remains valid for a full 365 days from that initial issuance date.

Got nose surgery lined up in 11 months. I’m a senior right now, supposed to wrap up my degree in 9 months. Question: if I finish school on time and end up unemployed, will my health insurance cover the costs? Or should I just drag out my studies for another 2 months so I stay covered under the student insurance plan?

I am wondering if my health insurance will cover the costs if I graduate now and find myself unemployed, or would it be more strategic to extend my studies by just two months so that I remain covered under the university's health and supplemental insurance plans?

Once you finish your degree, you can simply register with the local social services office, and the matter should be settled quite smoothly.

Does anyone actually know how long these electronic lab orders for things like CBC or urinalysis stay valid? Is it 15 days or a full month? I can't find anything current online to give me a straight answer.

So, my doctor actually told me just a few days ago that they're only good for a month.

Could someone point me in the right direction regarding how to schedule a gastroenterologist consultation and a colonoscopy at Mayo Clinic?
Which department should I head to?

I’m looking for a little bit of guidance regarding switching my primary care physician. I’ve been living here in Washington, D.C. for a few years now, but I haven't officially updated my residency or mailing address for everything yet, so I’ve still been traveling all the way back to my hometown to see my doctor—which is quite a trek!

What’s the actual process for transferring my medical records and getting set up with a new doctor right here in the District? Someone mentioned that I might need to have my official residence registered in Washington, D.C. first before I can even ask which clinics are accepting new patients. If anyone has navigated this before or knows the specific steps I should take, I would be so incredibly grateful for the help! 🙂

What's the easiest way to get my mom scheduled for an urography? Ideally, I'd love to get her in at the Holy Spirit hospital. Thanks! 🙂

Hey everyone.
I’ve got a consultation scheduled for this Wednesday at 9:00 AM with a neurosurgeon over at Rebro Hospital.
What has your experience been like there? Also, how much earlier should I plan to arrive to get checked in at the main reception desk?

The thing is, I can't really stand for more than ten minutes at a time—so it's pretty crucial for me to find a chair to settle into shortly after I get out of the car. :-)

What’s the deal with the wait times, and how much earlier should I show up to get checked in at the main desk?

Honestly, you just scan the waiting room and ask someone sitting down if they wouldn't mind giving up their seat for you—assuming, of course, you aren't asking someone who's in the exact same boat and can't stand either.

Has anyone been there lately, and how early should I show up to get checked in at the main desk?

I really struggle to stand for more than ten minutes, so it’s super important for me to find a seat quickly after I get out of the car. :-)

I'm not entirely sure what the Wednesday schedule looks like or which doctors are running the clinic that day, but I do know that on Tuesdays, when Stancic is seeing patients, the place is absolutely packed. People used to start showing up as early as 6:30 in the morning—some even earlier—and once the nurse arrives at 7:00 to hand out numbers, the wait begins, and honestly, the crowds can be overwhelming.

Regarding your trouble standing for long periods, isn't it always okay to ask someone nearby to give up their seat for you? That happened to me quite often, where I could manage about ten minutes on my feet before the pain became just too much to handle. If nothing else, you could always ask the nurse if there's a spot to sit or even lie down for a moment in the clinic area, because the staff there is truly kind.
