That mask that’s supposed to hide his ugliness? It looks more like some tacky little fashion accessory. 😁 [/B]

Look, I get what you're saying, but I honestly don't see 😢 why everyone is trashing this movie. I watched Moulin Rouge before and absolutely loved it, but this one felt truly beautiful to me—just perfect. I really don't get the complaints about the music being "the worst ever" or whatever. Even if it isn't for everyone, musical fans are going to find plenty to love here. For me, this movie was a total win!

Well, there really is such an endless supply of movies out there. You can honestly just pick whatever catches your eye whenever you have a moment to spare..

I actually liked the movie, though I wouldn't even call it a musical—it’s more like an opera since there's basically non-stop singing (and isn't that what operas are supposed to be about anyway? 🙄). The music is just... wow. It's massive, intense, super passionate, and honestly just fills the whole room. To be fair, the acting didn't even matter that much to me.
The sets are incredibly lush, and the makeup looks straight out of some sci-fi flick like Star Trek... the guy is actually handsome, but I guess they wanted to keep him kind of mysterious and subtle.
If you go into a movie called 'The Phantom of the Opera,' you expect an opera. You want those over-the-top costumes, grand scenery, all that theatrical exaggeration, and music that stays stuck in your head for days.
The score is everything here. Some people are going to absolutely love it, while others will probably hate their lives because of it.
Anyway, this isn't really a "popcorn movie" for the masses... it's more for a specific crowd that appreciates this kind of stuff.
Pretty solid overall. You don't always have to water things down just to make sure everyone likes it.

The music is killer—I actually have the soundtrack from the stage show, but I’ll probably need to grab the one from the movie too. Honestly, just listening to it would be more than enough... 😁

I’ve got some serious childhood trauma involving 😍 The Phantom of the Opera. I was obsessed with the comic book Phantom back in the day, and somehow my brain convinced me this old guy from the opera was actually that superhero with the coolest mask and gear—you know, living in that awesome cave behind the waterfall 🙄. So, naturally, I sat through two hours of pure televised boredom and whining just because I was too stubborn to admit I was wrong. I kept insisting, "No, this is exactly what I wanted to see!" and "I'm actually loving this!"

Just a total 🙄 Dummy being stubborn

Anyway, definitely not looking to make that mistake again 😁

So, back in 2004, they finally released a film adaptation based on that famous musical.
I’m honestly not quite sure how everyone else felt about it, but I personally found it to be a really wonderful movie... there’s just something about the way the story unfolds, paired with the music and those visual effects.🙏
That being said, I suppose no film can ever truly measure up to the original book, which I think does an even better job of capturing such a beautiful, fairy-tale-like narrative.😍
What are your thoughts on it?

Honestly, my parents went to see it... they actually liked it... personally, I couldn't care less—but hey—if they're vouching for it, it’s probably decent enough...

Total disaster!!!!
It’s honestly exhausting!!!!
Just thinking about that one scene where the phantom pulls off his mask and suddenly he’s got all this gray hair... when he didn't have any before... 😍
The movie drags on way too long... they basically gutted all the good side characters just to cram in more boring songs... and worst of all... there isn't even a decent explanation for why he's such a tragic figure...

It’s a shame that chandelier didn't fall on the director's head... maybe then he would've actually learned something... 😬

Wow, you certainly have an original take there, >.🙏
As for you—the one who didn't enjoy the movie—well, okay... I suppose you even have some rather comical observations to make, but perhaps you might actually form a more substantial opinion on the whole matter if you ever decided to actually READ THE BOOK. Maybe that might enlighten you a little bit.👍
And yes, I am indeed her.🙂

That's exactly what let me down about the film... I've always had a high opinion of The Phantom of the Opera... but this movie, in my humble opinion... was a total 👎

Okay, I think I follow you now.😎
But I wonder, have you actually read the book, perhaps?😕
