I feel terrible about being the one to drag this thread back to life... but honestly, I’m at my wit's end and hoping someone here might have some actual advice, because I don't really know where else to turn.
So, I’m 20, my boyfriend is 23... we haven't been together for ages, but it’s been incredibly intense—the kind of connection where we’re already talking about moving in together. That’s the honeymoon phase part of the story... now for the messy bit.
I finally met his group of friends, and things felt "off" from the jump. Long story short, I found out they occasionally (hopefully just occasionally) pick up drugs...
When I confronted him, he gave me the classic routine: total denial. He claimed it was all stuff from his past, before he met me, and that he wants to be a better man for our relationship and leave all that darkness behind...
And of course, I fell for it. At least, I did, until I found out he actually called a buddy of his to ask when he could "get a fix"... and even offered to buy him a round.
We almost called it quits right then and there, mostly because he got defensive and angry that I even suspected him—he keeps insisting I shouldn't even go down that road...
Deep down, I know he’s lying. I want to help him, and I can't just walk away and leave him hanging without us trying to work through this. The catch? He won't admit to anything, and I can't tell him I've been digging around behind his back, because if I do, it'll be over instantly. Please, if anyone has dealt with something similar, let me know what you think...
