Not really.
For instance, I just don't have the energy for more pain after dealing with a year's worth of health issues. And until you actually get a colonoscopy done, you won't know if there's going to be pain or not.
I also have a friend who stood outside the hospital doors listening to a man screaming; half the people there got up and left, even though they had appointments scheduled.
There's no way I'm letting them spread me out. I went through a gastroscopy without any issues, but those gallbladder attacks? I'll never forget them. I have PTSD.

As for getting a private colonoscopy in Chicago, try Amrusev Polyclinic. The doctors there work with Rib. A friend of mine went, and everything was great.
That's where I go for checkups; the doctors are good.

I'm still on the lookout for a pulmonologist if anyone has a solid recommendation. At this point, I'm only interested in private practice—I honestly don't have the patience to deal with the wait times through Social Security Administration.

On another note, the urologists over at St. Catherine are honestly the best. I guess you really can't go wrong with anyone there—all of them were excellent when I went with an older family member about two years ago.

I wanted to share a recommendation for a female radiologist over at Anova Polyclinic. She’s honestly incredible—she goes through MRI results with such detail and precision. Because of her, I actually understood everything about my situation down to the smallest point. It really makes a difference when you don't have to rely solely on whatever other specialists might decide to tell you. I guess it just shows how vital having a skilled radiologist is; they can really uncover so much more for you.

He’s an incredibly talented neurologist, but he’s based in Ireland—Dr. Nail Tubridy. As for the state of things here, I honestly don't even know how to describe it. I grew up in a family of doctors, and my dad... well, he knew more about neurology than all of them combined. If anyone is actually interested, I could send over some basic neurological facts via private message—things that just aren't being recognized or followed here, even though they're clearly outlined in the guidelines from American children's hospitals online. And it isn't just that; I also know of two elderly patients where everything was explained completely incorrectly.

I had an equally uncomfortable experience with this younger orthopedist who actually seemed perfectly fine at first. But what he advised me? It was just wrong. Honestly, I feel like I know what’s best for my own leg, and I’m certain this injury will heal in time. Sure, there might be some permanent changes to the bone, but for me, being able to walk normally is the priority. You really just have to know what works for you. On a brighter note, thanks to the pharmacy nearby—they already know me and they are incredibly kind. As for the doctor telling me it won't pass... he was literally ordering me to go to physical therapy, which I'm not going to do for several reasons. Also, nobody is wearing masks here, even though it's technically a medical facility.

If you happen to need an MRI, I’d say America Polyclinic is definitely the way to go. They have a 3 Tesla magnet, which is great, and the staff there is incredibly kind. The radiologist is wonderful too; she's very thorough when explaining the results. If you accidentally shift during the scan, she'll just run the necessary sequence again without any fuss. Honestly, they're the best. Even the technician is super polite.
