He’s young, super friendly, and doesn't mind fixing two teeth in one visit. Plus, he doesn't charge extra for white fillings like some total jerks do. I highly recommend him.

Can you tell me what his office hours are?

Alright, folks. My apologies if this topic has already been chewed up and spit out elsewhere, but I’ve searched high and low and haven't seen much discussion regarding decent general practitioners.

Basically, I need to pick a new primary care doctor. Ideally, someone located around the West Side or maybe near downtown, though I'm not strictly wedded to the location. If you could drop a few names of people who actually know what they're doing—and more importantly, might actually be accepting new patients—I’d appreciate it.

Much appreciated! 😘

So, I guess I’ll just jump in here and join the conversation, because honestly, I’m looking for the exact same thing myself, so I was wondering if maybe anyone who might have some solid recommendations could please reach out to me...😘

I need to go see a periodontist... anyone know a good spot in NYC?

Just wondering what your experiences have been like with periodontists lately. Any specific ones you’d vouch for? (Personal recs only, including private practices)...

Hey, I know a solid periodontist who runs a private practice. He’s a bit pricey, but trust me—you get what you pay for... My breath used to be an absolute nightmare that followed me around for half my life. Not to mention how awkward it made hanging out with people. But now? Finally, no more bleeding gums...
Still seeing her for treatment... honestly, it’s been pretty great...

Forget about privacy issues for a second,😳

does anyone actually have experience with the dentists at the university clinic? Is it worth going there or should I skip?😕

I use the one over on Antonovich and it seems pretty decent!

I need to go take my GREs for grad school. I’ve heard the programs there are decent, but what’s the consensus?

If you're trying to save some cash and skip the private clinics, go for it! Go to the school!
Just be mindful of which student ends up handling your procedure. 🤣
In my experience, if they see a case is getting complicated, they’ll hand it off to a more senior resident or an attending professor immediately.
The quality really seems to be a fifty-fifty split with the students I know. For some people, it's a total success, while others wish they had just gone elsewhere!

Just be careful about who actually ends up pulling your teeth!!🤣
If they realize things are getting complicated, they might hand it off to a dental student, or if it's serious, someone a bit more experienced will step in!!!!
From what I've seen, the experience there is a total coin flip! Some people swear by it, while others swear they're never going back!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, my own dentist actually wanted to handle it herself initially, but since the case is a bit complex, she didn't feel comfortable proceeding and referred me over there instead.

So you still have that wisdom tooth in there and need surgery!
Don't worry, you'll be in experienced hands at the clinic.
You could always look into trying out a different hospital too!

It’s definitely still in there; I already posted about this in the dental thread. First the tooth cracked, then we tried to fix it, and now gangrene has set in, so it has to come out. I just got off the phone with a friend who told me the procedure isn't actually a huge deal, though it might hurt later on, and I'll probably end up with a couple of stitches and all that. She mentioned the staff there are pros and handle these things regularly—apparently, a med student might observe, but they won't be the ones performing the actual work. Honestly, I'm pretty terrified.😢

Everything is going to be just fine!!
They’ll just numb the area, extract the tooth, and put in a few stitches!!!
Just make sure you stick to soft foods like pudding or applesauce for a bit. You'll head back in a couple of days to get those stitches removed, and then you'll be all set!!!
You might feel a little discomfort once the local anesthetic wears off, but if that's too much for you, just take an Advil!!! The injection itself is the only part that really stings!!! It's nothing to worry about!! Grab yourself a drink on me!! Just kidding!"

Just stick to soft foods—think pudding or lukewarm soup. In a couple of days, you'll head back to get the stitches out and it'll all be behind you!!!
You might feel a little sting once the local anesthetic wears off, but if you can't handle that, just take an Advil!!! The shot itself is the worst part. It's really nothing to worry about!! Grab a drink on me! Just kidding."

I suppose I should have anticipated this reaction. I do enjoy a good shot of Jägermeister, so perhaps I thought it might provide some much-needed courage.🙂 Honestly, my fear of the dentist is quite intense; it’s embarrassing to admit that I wasn't nearly this terrified when I was in labor. Good grief.

Kudos to you! Honestly, when it comes to childbirth, I think the pain is so intense I’d actually rather just go get all my teeth pulled instead!!!!!!
Even I'm freaking out about my upcoming LASIK surgery—I am absolutely terrified! What if something goes wrong with my eyes specifically!!!!!!

It'll turn out fine.🙂
Giving birth carries a certain weight and purpose to it, whereas getting your teeth pulled doesn't really have much depth. Sure, it solves a problem, but labor is a completely different beast altogether.

Does anyone have any firsthand experience with the medical practice run by Stefanec-Papac over in Springfield? I think I’ve got the name spelled correctly, but I'd love to know what people actually think of them.

My apologies if there’s already a thread about this somewhere, but I couldn't find one...

So, I'm looking for a solid, high-quality private dentist in San Diego.
Who is hands down the best in the San Diego area?
I have several cavities, and honestly, a massive phobia of dentists—which is exactly why my teeth ended up in this disastrous state.
But enough is enough. I've finally decided to fix this mess. I want to commit to getting my smile back to a point where I can actually look presentable and laugh like a normal human being again...
Can anyone recommend someone who can actually handle all of this and get me right?!?!

Thanks....

I’m actually heading over to DentVitalis—they're located just before that major intersection on Main Street...
I honestly can't recommend them enough. They have two male and two female doctors on staff, and I personally see one of the younger ladies there (if you want her specific name, just shoot me a DM). She is incredibly gentle and attentive; she's also extremely meticulous and thorough. She has completely transformed my smile over the last year—I’ve spent about $1167 with her, though I really needed a total overhaul of everything 😬.

She cares deeply about the aesthetic side of things too, so she regularly handles scaling and plaque removal at no extra charge. Her fillings are so seamless you can't even tell they were ever done, and she occasionally sends photos of the progress so you're fully informed about every little detail...
And if you happen to be someone who is terrified of pain, don't worry—the anesthesia is applied so smoothly it's practically effortless (and that’s also included for free)...
The office itself is wonderful. You never have to wait around; they offer you coffee the moment you walk in, and they have a huge TV and a great selection of magazines to keep you occupied...

As for root canals, they actually have a specialist who focuses exclusively on that...
If you need any more details, just send me a private message!
