So many people are constantly hunting for a decent dentist—honestly, my go-to recommendation is Dr. Fauci, she’s seriously gentle.
In a regular appointment, she just handles everything your teeth need perfectly.

I'm looking for a dentist in the Miami or San Diego area who accepts Medicare. I need a solid recommendation and direct contact info. This is urgent.
Thanks.

Does anyone have a solid recommendation for Dr. House? I’m looking for someone reliable.

Hey everyone. I'm looking for a private immunologist in Miami, so I’d really appreciate some help here. At the hospital, the earliest I can get an appointment is July, which is a bit of a problem since this is actually pretty urgent for me. By the way, I have to say I'm actually on board with those healthcare reforms that managed to cut down the wait times at hospitals 🙄 thanks in advance 🙂

hehe, so I was actually asking about an immunologist in Miami, but it seems like nobody here has a clue 🤷
From what I’ve gathered, there aren't even any private immunologists in this country to begin with 😕

Jessica Wood92 said:Hey there. Maybe try finding out if Dr. Einstein is still seeing patients so you can book an appointment with her.
She’s super professional and really easy to talk to, but I'm not sure if she's still practicing over in Brooklyn.

The reason I'm asking is because I used to go to a doctor who doesn't work in Brooklyn anymore.😢

I just checked their website and it looks like Dr. Einstein is actually on the list.👋
Thanks!🙏

Hey everyone!

Can anyone recommend a good GP or family doctor on the east side of town (near The Rings, Times Square, Martićev, Heinzelov, or Kvatrić...)? I really need someone who actually listens—not one of those doctors who's stingy with referrals, you know? Just looking for someone genuinely helpful who also lets you book appointments over the phone.

Thanks a bunch!

Regarding those house calls, do you really think a general practitioner is just going to show up at your front door? I mean, I think that hasn't been a thing for quite a long time now. The only person who would typically come by the house is a visiting nurse. For my mom, back at the start of last summer, a nurse actually came out to our place for about a week because she had to stay on bed rest and take heparin injections.

Thinking about getting my seasonal flu shot here in Washington, D.C. I don't actually have a primary care doctor assigned to me. Do I even need one if I just want the jab, and where can I actually go to get it done?

Nah, when I said "visit," I meant a standard checkup at the clinic—my bad, phrased that poorly.

It’d be huge if I could just book an appointment over the phone instead of waiting forever.

Anyone?

If you aren't in a high-risk group, you're under 65, and you don't deal with chronic illnesses, you basically have to buy the influenza vaccine yourself at a pharmacy and then take it to your family doctor or a nurse to get the shot. That’s exactly what I did early last week. I checked two different pharmacies, and both had the Dutch version of the Ifluvac vaccine available for the same price, which was $20. My dad got vaccinated through his general practitioner using the French Vaxigrip, but he's over 65, so the rules are different for him. Now, I've been hearing rumors that there might be a shortage of that specific vaccine in stores. But honestly, I only heard that yesterday at the same pharmacy that didn't even have any stock at all early last week. You should probably ask around a bit at local pharmacies; when I checked near Trnje—Flower Settlement and over on Horvaćanski by the Baschiera pizzeria last week, they told me they had plenty of stock. If you manage to pick some up, maybe just ask a clinic if they'll administer it for you since you already bought it. It shouldn't take more than a minute or two, I guess... if you bring the vaccine yourself, someone should be willing to give you the shot, even if you aren't officially registered with that specific office.

You can always head over to the municipal public health clinic—it’s on Mirogojska. $18, deal with a little wait in line, and you're set.

Is that what they were showing on TV? There's a massive crowd there, and it looks like most of them are just elderly people standing in this endless line.

Alright, there you go. You’ve got two options: either go begging at some local clinics hoping someone actually feels sorry for you and decides to help, or just sit there and wait in line. Pick one! (Assuming you aren't allergic to eggs, obviously)😍

Hold up, so am I actually supposed to go pick up the vaccine at the pharmacy myself or what? 😁

Besides getting the shot, they need me to hang out for like half an hour afterward—which I definitely need to do because I'm low-key terrified (no, seriously, I don't even know why) and there's a chance I might just pass out later. 😳

Does anyone happen to have a recommendation for a good primary care physician in the North Washington, D.C. area?
(Ideally, someone who won't immediately turn me away because they aren't accepting new patients right now 😁)

Thanks so much! 🙂

Beyond just getting the shot, I need to lie down for about half an hour afterward—I have to ride it out because I'm terrified (no, I don't even know why) and there's a chance I might pass out later. 😳

If you're getting vaccinated by your own doctor and they don't stock vaccines for young, healthy people—call them first; if they don't have it, then yeah, you have to buy it. But if you go through public health services, you don't have to.

And 😍 regarding lying down after... 😬

I highly recommend the dentist over in Sesvete, Dr. Željko Rotim. 👍
I ended up switching to him after my folks heard he was solid and went to see him themselves. I just couldn't deal with my old dentist from the Village anymore—the woman wouldn't even change her gloves, she’d basically be washing her hands while still wearing them 😲, and she clearly had no idea what "painless treatment" actually meant 😠. Honestly, thanks to her, I used to have major dental trauma 😢.
Then I finally visit Dr. Rotim, who is just perfect in every way—super clean, really gentle, explains everything thoroughly, works fast, there's no long wait, and most importantly, nothing hurts 🙏.
Mind you, after all those past experiences, I still can't fully relax. I'll be sitting there trembling in the chair and making all these faces, and he keeps checking in with "does that hurt?" while I'm just sitting there with a mouth full of tools going "mm-hmm" 😁.

So, I’m circling back to a question someone asked a few pages ago—I haven't seen anyone actually address it yet: how does it work with those dentists who run private practices but also take Medicare? Specifically, which treatments do you have to pay out of pocket and which ones are covered by Medicare? How is that whole system structured?
I'm a little confused here.😢
